Neil Sedaka reaction is overdue. "Calendar Girls" or "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do"
and "Laughter In The Rain"
Oh, Yes!
Yes! Great songs. I wonder why this was chosen above those???
Yes!
"Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", Calendar Girl", "Laughter In The Rain".
Paul Anka is not only a very successful singer, he's a great song writer, including for other singers. He wrote "My Way" for Frank Sinatra, and "She's a Lady" for Tom Jones.
Oh yes, Neil Sedaka is so overdue, also since you’re a fan of falsetto, Lou Christie.
“You’re Having My Baby “ by Paul Anka from the 1970s , sweet song , a more recent song than the ones you’ve heard so far .
He was 19 when he did this. He was 16 when he did "Diana ".
That clip is from a 1959 film called Girls Town.

This was young people's music before the Beatles changed everything.
Quite the audience, lol. Born in Ottawa Canada 1941. Had alot of hits and was in a number of TV specials and series. 82 yrs old now.
50's suggestion - "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" by Frankie Lymon And The Teenagers". Diana Ross did a great cover of the song in 1981.
Excellent. I've suggested that song/group a few times.
I love when you guys do oldies
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "(You're) Having My Baby", "Lonely Boy" and "Times of Your Life" !!!!
(You're) Having My Baby is quintessential 70s.
You're giving me a Eddie.Hey, 80 Eddie Arnold.I'm making the world a whole world go away getting off my shoulders
@@db-gb5xiI'll tell you something else. I don't give you a Big Daddy, Arnold. It's a try shift, especially that videos. It's like God. It's got some women in there. Yeah, sexy babies Confederate railroad. They do that some try s*** Tr ASHY get it on the wide screen.
Times of Your Life should be high on everyone's reaction list -- I think it was his last big hit?
This is from a movie called "Girls Town."
Paul Anka === Lonely Boy and lots more.......
He also wrote the theme song for the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I understand he got paid every time it was played..5 days a week
Paul wrote songs for many others, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra and the theme song for the Tonight Show. His hit song in the 70's was "(You're) Havin my Baby"
Hi Guys greetings from England 🇬🇧 you should check out Neil Sedaka who started in the 50s and he is still going strong and Neil Sedaka has written so many great songs over the years and you should check out his song" Breaking Up His Hard To Do" Neil started out as a teeny bopper heart throb and matured over the years to become a great singer/songwriter
Neil Sedaka: "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do"
1975 Version
Neil Sedaka: "Laughter In The Rain"
1974 Version
Thank you 💜💜
You would love Donny Osmond’s cover of Puppy Love
The movie was named Girls Town (1959). This was his first film appearance.
He has some great songs from the early 70's. He also had written the song, "My Way" for Sinatra, also, "She's A Lady" for Tom Jones. He has always been a very talented artist. Some of the 70's hits were, " (I Believe) There's Nothing Stronger Than Our Love." "Times of Your Life." You're Having My Baby." Many, many others.
didn't really write My Way folks he put some English words to the original melody
Originally My Way was written by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François and first performed in 1967 by Claude François. You can hear the original My Way on UA-cam in French with English subtitles - Anka’s English lyrics are not a translation of the original song version - ua-cam.com/video/nnbqMKs4QN0/v-deo.htmlsi=-uIo7Yhih5Mi89m6
Do the song “Papa” for Father’s Day by Paul Anka.
Paul Anka started singing when he was fourteen in January 1956 when he was in the group called The Bobbysoxers.
The man is 82 and still doing shows
The Platters - "You'll Never Know".
Paul anka was a great singer great music listen to him growing up
🇬🇧 "Lonely Boy" by Paul Anka is a great song for next choice. ❤🎼🎙️
His songs I Don't Like To Sleep Alone, You're Having My Baby, Hold Me Til the Morning Comes(Great duet with Peter Cetera), and Times of Your Life are all great songs!
Lonely Boy by Paul Anka is probably my favorite by him!!!
Neill Sedaka. You' re So Good For Me. ( Neill Sedaka. Laughter in the Rain. ( Paul Anka feat. Peter Cetera. Hold Me The Morning Comes. 😇💜🌎🎧⭐🎸🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵⭐⭐⭐⭐
That scene is from Girl's Town, which I first saw via Mystery Science Theater 3000
Just love, love Paul Anna. This was in a movie called Girl’s Town with Paul, Dick Clarke, and Gloria Talbott. Great teenage movie in our time.
Love paul❤
this was my mother and aunts and uncles time here grew up then as kids it was magic time in music with paul anka i was around.
One of Paul's early songs, and the first 45 record that I bought, is.... "You Are My Destiny". This was one of his big hits
If the artists aren't singing on tv shows then the footage is from movies. Music videos started with MTV.
I haven't heard this song in decades. Thanks for the brain refresher.
You must watch Elvis Presley he can sing country rock all kinds of music gospel songs in particular.Listen to this song. A baby child is born in the ghetto the history of Elvis is pretty unique as well enjoy
Agreed. His talent as a songwriter and vocal artist is up there with the best of them all. In the 70s his catalog went into the stratosphere. A beautiful song that wasn't well known is "Papa." Very heartfelt.
If you haven't introduced your girls to the post-war musicals (Singing in the Rain, South Pacific, and Oklahoma!) I really hope you will. With the catchy melodies and dance routines that they could probably imitate to a degree, I think they (and you) would not only have a ball, but also open doors into a new genre for your channel.
Bandwagon, White Christmas, and Meet Me In St.Louis
Calamity Jane
We were on vacation in Mexico years ago and Paul Anka was staying at the same hotel. My mom was beside herself. She had the opportunity to talk to him and all she could say was hi before she turned around and walked away. 😂
Please do Little Anthony and The Imperials. 60’s #1 hits, amazing vocals. Hurt So Bad, I’m On The Outside Looking In, Going Out Of My Head. You’ll be blown away.
This is from a film called “Girls Town” The blonde twirling her ponytail is Mamie Van Doran who was a sort of a younger, “B” movie Marilyn Monroe for teens. She usually played hard boiled, trashy girls with a heart of gold. The film is classic B movie camp. It takes place in a reform school for girls. It’s a movie genre worth checking out. Again, great reaction from you both. ❤
Pa.ul Anka was one of the composers who wrote the huge Frank Sinatra hit My Way. in 1975 he recorded a song called Times of Your Life which is one of his best.
Shelley Fabres "Johnny Angel" is from this time period.
My older sister had the 45 of this song. Shelley also sang this on The Donna Reed Show.
Kathie says… RICKY NELSON NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS CATEGORY!! He was so Dreamy back in the day…with many many awesome hits!!! One in particular, an old Hank Williams song: THERE’LL NEVER BE ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU (for me) ❤️❤️🫣
This is one of his earliest videos. His agent suggested he have his nose redone, well it worked, he was very handsome & came out with numerous hits. This video is quite old & didn’t sound as good as his later music, could it be his nose? LoL! He was dreamy…♥️♥️
Good song good reaction
The Platters Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
Paul Anka. Biltful music 😇💜🌎🌹🎧🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵⭐📻🇧🇷🇺🇲
Thanks for this reaction. Don’t know if you have done any Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons. But either way, reactions to them are overdue. “Walk Like a Man”, “Ronnie” (my dear departed sister, Ronnie, loved that song so much, as she was a teen fan of that 60’s rock and roll and was waiting for someone to do a song with her name), “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Sherry Baby”, and so many more. Clint Eastwood directed movie, JERSEY BOYS (based on the stage musical, based on the story of The Four Seasons), is also a movie you might like reacting to.
Ah yesss love Paul
This was from a 1959 movie called “Girls Town”.
Born in 62 and I never heard of this song, and oldies is all we listened to on the radio. How does this get chosen? In any case, "Times of Your Life" is way more up your alley, and it's perfect for where you are in your lives. Treasure the times of your life while you're young, even the tough parts -- you're going to want them back eventually
I was born in 1948 and remember this song so guess it’s for older folks.
"It's Time to Cry" pretty big hit in 1959 made number 4 in US charts / number 5 Canada / number 28 UK. Three years before you were born MoMoMyPup10
Songwriter and singer!
It's Mike and the world the Ho WW o.RLA go away, it's it's getting off my shoulders.Yeah, it's got the air.Yeah , it's got the air and it's all the fuck
Another fellow Canadian. I met him a couple of decades ago when he came to perform at the Casino I was employed at. He recorded a new version of his famous song "I did it my way" for a showing of appreciation to our employees at the casino. This was the hit he wrote for Frank Sinatra. The CD case has an image of that same casino on the front. It was a very special gesture. He is a Canadian Icon. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
A reaction to Frankie Avalon’s “Bobby Socks to Stockings” is overdue. This is a beautiful song and a word of warning for Jay!
Thanks for posting on Paul Anka as well. Please do some Neil Sedaka and Gary Lewis and the Playboys.
You would LOVE "Come and Go With Me" by the Del-Vikings. "Teenager in Love" by Dion and the Belmonts is another Doo-Wop classic.
Another 50's vocalist, Nancy Wilson, a jazz/pop singer, sometimes actress and always elegant lady from the 50s on. Her first hit was the song, Guess Who I Saw Today and one of her songs from the 80s was, Do You Still Dream About Me, which was more R&B.
Listen to Paul anka from the seventies especially "having my baby" .
More 50s music on the soul side to check out, Big Joe Turner and his song Shake, Rattle and Roll (which was covered by Bill Haley and The Comets). Ruth Brown and the song, Mama, He Treats Your Daughter Mean. Laverne Baker and her song Tweedlee Dee. And it's a 60s song but Etta James' song, I'd Rather Go Blind (which she co-wrote) that you're reacted to a cover version.
He was a heart throb had several hits another artist is Ricky Nelson he had his own band and part of a television series called the Ozzie and Harriet show and they family were all in it
"Bring The Wine" is a beauty
One of the two Canadian hit writers who made Frank Sinatras' career.
You can't go wrong with Paul Anka. I don't know of any song that he wrote that didn't make the hits list.
I loved so many of his songs, but can't believe I don't remember this one at all.
This is from the film Girls Town.
Ahh. A great Canadian!
HEY guys should you do more Paul Anka consider reacting to his hits Having my baby, Times of your life and my favorite from him I believe there's nothing stronger (than our love) these 3 songs has featured vocals by a woman named Odia Coates a very good singer. keep up the great work guys.
Papa is a great song too
Yes, check out his Times of Your Life from the 70s. He also wrote Frank Sinatra's My Way and does a great version of it himself.
😮omg
Times Of Your Life... Paul Anka..it was used in a Kodak commercial .
Amber was looking like she was getting "the vapors" listening to Paul Anka.
Try. Patches by Clarence Carter and. I'm your puppet by James & Bobby purify
Lonely Boy and the times if your life the latter when Paul was older
Would you play Across the universe by the Beatles???
You need to listen to his "The times of your life"! It was used for years as the theme song for Kodak cameras back in the day!
Have you done Johnny Ray yet? Amazing crooner.
Donnie Osmond had a big hit with "Puppy Love"
There is a video of Paul Anka singing Puppy Love at a fair. He asked a girl to come up and it is worthy.
My momma’s favourite! Well, him and Elvis. But she saw him live during the Western Fair in London, Ontario.
Check out Zach Top- “There’s the Sun”
Paul Anka looks like a young Fred Flintstone....Yabba Dabba Doo
Paul Anka - I don’t like to sleep alone
Jon Secada - Just another day , If you go.
Cake - Stickshifts and Safetybelts
“Puppy Love”
Now you’ve got to react to Donny Osmonds version, he had a huge hit with it!!
Amber I know you mentioned Puppy Love. You guys should hear the Donny Osmond version.
Another older song that you might like, though not Paul Anka, is “Greensleeves” by The Brothers Four. The black & white version, though really old, is great. It’s live at a college and shows the audience really engrossed in the song. I don’t think you’ve done any of the groups songs before either. Also, Greensleeves is the nickname of Mary, Queen of Scots. She was the Queen of Scotland along long time ago and was put to death by her own cousin, the Queen of England, because the Queen thought she was going to try and take over her throne. It turned out to be untrue.
For your next Paul Anka reaction, check out “Times of your life”. You will like it.
If you Like going back in time try Post Modern Jukebox (PMJ). Their motto is today's hits yesterday. Do want to hear Aerosmiths Dream On in a sixties style listen to Morgan James. What to hear Creep in a 40's speak easy listen to Hallie Rienhart. Both these ladies will be in your top 10 lists.
Praying you guys give Jimmy Ruffin a listen
My mom was just telling me the other day to watch a movie with Paul Anka. She loves his songs.
Edit: the movie is The Longest Day.
Maybe you could react to that too.
If this was '59, then he was 18yrs old
Try "puppy love" by Donny Osmond 👍, also "go away little girl"
jay and amber I have a suggestion for a theme day great songs from great bands with new singers 1.bad company no smoke without a fire with singer Brian Howe replacing Paul Rodgers. 2.Styx love is the ritual with singer Glen Burtnik replacing tommy Shaw 3. foreigner low down and dirty with singer Johnny Edwards replacing Lou gramm 4. Van Halen without you with singer Gary Cherone replacing Sammy hagar I know you do 3 songs a day so you can pick the 3 and maybe do the other one another time you know and love these bands and I there
You should next play Paul Anka'a 1959 clip from the film Girls Town of Lonely Boy, it's incredible....Oh by the way the Paul Anka song you did before was 1957's Diana not Diane.
Live Concert video on both AC⚡️DC Tunes Jay, Jay don't play w me Jay 🌊🏄♂️🌊
Here's a music video from 1939. It was recorded on film and was shown in movie theaters (along with news reels, a fun facts video, even commercials before the "feature presentation"... the movie.) This band had an incredible string of hits. The lead singer is absolutely unique and will blow you away! Here are The Ink Spots singing "If I Didn't Care." ua-cam.com/video/zyLZ_KScE9s/v-deo.htmlsi=crY0cM6EfSnocvkE
I believe Paul began his career at 13.
Does anyone know where these two actually get their suggestions from? Their motto is "give the people what they want" yet I haven't seen anyone ask for, or even suggest, the majority of the music they have reacted to recently.
Hey, y'all. Since Memorial Day is approaching, I have a song suggestion. "Peace In Our Life" by Frank Stallone. Yes. That is Sylvester Stallone's brother and this song played at the end of Rambo 2. It's a beautiful song talking about those who fight and die for us and how we should appreciate them. And if it's too late for Memorial Day, maybe put it in your pocket for Veteran's Day. Much love! 💜
