Finally the Wooting 80HE is here! And I have spent the past week grinding with it to see if it's actually good for gaming (details within the video). But how does it compare to some of the more high quality Hall Effect keyboards we've seen? Well I also answer that in the video...

great video btw and I love the sweater :D
@@DiamondLobbyReviews is the bottom of the keyboard uncomfortable on your palm? looks razer sharp
Our community is definitely well-informed... though that might have something to do with our CEO, Calder, who loves to share a bit too much on stream out of sheer enthusiasm, haha. I really enjoyed the quirky moments you included-your videos are always such a joy to watch.
Lately, more switch options compatible with our board have been popping up, which could be fun to explore. I also made a video on our channel covering a few, if you want to have a listen.
Appreciate the thorough review of our board. I hope it continues to be your daily companion for a long time. I also love the idea of adding a timer to the lightbar-it could be really useful and a fun feature for speedrunners too! I'll make sure to pass this suggestion along to our software team.
W wooting for pushing boundaries when it comes to gaming keyboards
Wooting ur prices are way to high esp for plastic builds and the keyboard competition closing the gap with your innovation. I hope you guys see your sales reflect and see that price drop is needed. Lots of people commenting too on the ridiculous price, I recommend anyone reading this to look into Drunkdeer another small team making affordable competitive keyboards
Make a snake game that can be played using cursor keys and using per key rgb lightning on a keyboard as a display.
You know you’ve succeeded when Wooting themselves make a point to comment, and a properly formed one as well. Actually shows brand compassion, as well as the fact that this person who works for the company, expresses their own passion as well as their CEOs
W wootang
with taxes + shipping in canada = 271$ USD :( (yes for plastic)
@Didi-wv3kr pretty cheap for the features tbh, just buy the zinc case with it. Only 90 bucks more.

being the best ≠ being cheap
It's an expensive keyboard. Maybe you think it's worth it, maybe it is for you and many others, still doesn't mean it's cheap.
I think you nailed it. The Wootility software is so easy, and refreshing, to use. Even if you felt other keyboards were just as good as Wooting, their software would stand shoulders above the rest.
The lekker v2's are a significant improvement. Not trying to glaze Wooting too hard, but the only thing I disliked about my 60he was the key wobble. The keys felt truly terrible. I grabbed some v2's, and the problem is nearly non-existent now. Been using them about a week, and I'm very happy.
Don't worry, it will have the same wobble after a few months of use. New keyboards always feel better than very used ones.
Should have went with the gateron jades instead.
The price is insane though.
i have had mine for 2 years now besides upgrading the case and swapping out the w key for a new one that cost me nothing because they give you a few spares i have had no issues and still works like brand new and if a switch goes bad you just replace it but it feels amazing if you upgrade the case you can get a discount too and definitely get a wrist rest because it sits a good bit higher after
My oh my, what a coincidence that my keyboard just died....
Frankly I don't see why this should be better than Keyhcron Q1 HE:
- it costs more than Q1 HE
- it doesn't support open-source QMK firmware (which also allows to have an offline client and let the keyboard survive if the company fails)
- it lacks the option to have a knob
- it lacks bluetooth
- it lacks 2.4GHz wireless
- it's wider for no good reason (75% layout is better imo)
- wrist rest is more expensive and there is no cover case (anti dust)
To me the Q1 HE is the clear winner here.
exactly why I bought a Q1 HE recently, just seemed a lot better value for my money. Not forgetting how much better it sounds too.
Can't live without the

@@LunaFrog- thx homie 💯
thank you for uploading the first 80HE video and exhausting our patience, as I pre-ordered and have been waiting for what feels like ages...😒
This keeb exists for those that want a bigger layout. Stick with the 60HE if you're fine with what you got. (also wait for the aftermarket cases if you wanna go the uber expensive custom route)
I love your videos not only for saving my life, informing me about what a good keyboard is, but for your subtle humor also!
Sir, 6:51... I feel attacked.
220€ is a joke...
What is that insanely weird layout with the / and | being to the left of Z and the oddly shaped enter key? who needs an enter key that big??
Wooting didn't want to do a TKL layout because it's "too mainstream" so they came up with whatever the Hell this abomination of a layout is.
its an ISO layout it has this difference from ANSI layout ansi is only US but ISO is european and almost every country here uses their language with ISO layout, for gaming ANSI is better
Yeah, key pressing is much more complicated with this one. This is beyond being a keyboard.
they're here ? Nice, Started to feel like 80he gonna be a big scam , sadly i have to wait till November , Fun Video as always ,Gud job
they're here!!
So close. But having no home / end keys is a no-go for me.
Mine is getting ready to ship soon. So, looking forward to it.
Getting mine delivered tomorrow night 💯
I received my 80HE yesterday and love it but I wouldn't say that Wooting has destroyed competition. Wooting's main selling point was rapid trigger and back then they were probably the only company that had it implemented well and working. But over the time, alternatives appeared, such as Rakka, Drunkdeer et cetera. 80HE was advertised with Rappy Snappy, but now that it's been banned in CS (along with SOCD) it's likely that other games will follow and ban it too. It's a very nice keyboard and finally in a optimal size (because until now the choice was limited to 60% and full size 2HE), but it's definitely overpriced. But not gonna lie, Wootility is it's huge advantage over the likes of Razer Synapse and other crappy software
Thanks Wooting for making the best keyboard in Spanish, I am waiting for mine
Can't wait for my copy...
Still applies to the 60HE and Two HE.
The glazing is crazy starting from literal first sec of the vid 💀wooting is overpriced and overhyped. Yea it’s not a big company and it’s a passionate team but clearly they wanna drain ur wallet with this idea. Drunkdeer for example is a small team too with slightly cheaper builds and whatever software but price gap with what wooting offers not worth at all. $200 for keyboards in this economy?? Hope sales reflect and wooting drops prices then it would be worth it
yep 200$ for plastic and lame stabs sums it up for me, waiting for dd to ship.
shhhhh, the Wooting fanboys are coming for you.
The 60HE was good when it came out. It was far ahead of competitor and reasonable-ish price. The 80HE has a really stupid design (TKL would be 20 times better), barely any notable improvement over the 60HE, and their keyboards are not even that far ahead of competitions anymore. Did I also mention it's like $80 more?? $80 is a full freaking keyboard by itself lmao.
But the UA-camrs are still going to glaze and the fanboys are still going to justify their $250 plastic keyboard.
agree! they really dont look like anything special for that price and iv also seen a lot of reviews showing that the Zinc version marks so easy .. also the spacebar sounds horrible to me.
technically its still better performance, better software , drunkdeer also doesnt support 3rd party switches. but yea kinda overpriced ngl.
The 60HE sold for 300 usd where I live. I don’t even want to look up how much will this one cost 😢

Thank you for the review, the weird layout of 80he steered me away and into keychron q3 he instead :(
The lekkar switches even the V2s just sound terrible. I have a 60he and swapped them for magnetic jades. HUGE sound difference.
Online only software means you are renting your keyboard; you don't own a product when the manufacturer can remote disable your control of it.
There is also a fully downloadable wootility. Noob.
you realize that wootility also exists offline right? and that literally every other software company can do the same thing, even if it's installed on your pc and "offline", unless you just don't use the internet on your device at all. Forced updates exist and you wouldn't know that the new version would have an issue until it's too late.
@@yououttapocket
Can you change some important settings, like key travel actuation and rappy snappy with some key combinations, like on the Razer Keyboards?
I'm thinking of getting a Wooting, but want to be able to quickly change settings without software.
@@Sherolox I'm actually not sure, but you can set up to 3 additional profiles, which can be swapped without actually entering wootility. Yeah, paint is stratching easily, switches are worse than any other HE, no gasket mount, no knob, no such premium feeling as other competitors and the price is one big joke. People are still going to buy it even though most of the HE keyboards can do the same thing as wooting.
What
"No such premium feeling". Yeah. You haven't tried it. There's a reason these Wootings are popular among pro's.
@@yinx9 Wooting came first but honestly a lot of these keyboards from China are killing in the HE market. You can get get ones with Gateron Jades preinstalled, 8K + aluminum cases for under $180. Imagine crying about 200$.
the Hipyo review says Hall Effect is overrated whereas we exclusively review HE keyboards because of how good the feature is, and we've been doing that since way before the banned snappy tappy stuff. His video also says exactly what we do about software: Wooting's software is way better than everyone elses, and if you want a Hall Effect keyboard for the benefits it offers, the software is essential. So no other keyboard comes close in this department. There are plenty of great options if you want a worse HE keyboard that offers better value for money.
So it has pretty much all the features of my $40 skyloong keyboard but with hall effect magnetic switches? Why is it so expensive?
Hall effect switches are much better for customizing the actuation points. Plus rapid trigger, rappy snappy, SOCD is a game changer compared to your $40 keyboard.
It isn’t for what you are getting. The best gaming keyboard in existence
@@VexxedSR with all due respect, you just don’t know how bad your keyboard really is. Once you try something like a wooting you will realize.
The software is pretty much constantly in development and is unrivalled in that aspect. I have a VXE ATK68 that destroys this build quality wise at under half the price (also a 68, not 80%) but the the software and experience doesn't come close.
@@ashy3340 Already tried the he60 when it came out and it was terrible, had it sent back and refunded. I have multiple keyboards already with some custom built ones for maximum silence that I use for work and other pre-lubed linear and tactile budget ones like Skyloong and DrunkDeer for every day use at home for my upstairs and downstairs PC. My Skyloong has a gasket mounted PCB with gasket mounted keys, EVA foam on the bottom to remove those hollow sounds and is a lot cheaper. Sound wise; after I lubed the stabs it's better sounding and better feeling than any expensive ~$200 keyboard that I've owned in the past.
