Hello..... my car would continuously throw the coolant overheating code, and my oil temp sensor would be super high. Also my coolant temp sensor would go up and down. On highway it was fine for short period of time, and then it would over heat
No I didn't have to disconnect the coolant hose. I left it connected. As long as you bent the metal piece outlined in the video up enough, you should be able to move the housing over enough. You don't need much room, just enough to get the thermostat out
Hi ist know it 1 year ago, bitte i have some question.. 1. How u get the roler off? 2. When u bend the Metall piece up. Is there enough place to Band the other plate over? 3. When u pull the Metall piece over are the bolts free?
1. It was just one bolt. Don't remember the size though. 2. There is enough space after you bend the plate 3. Yes all the bolts to the thermostat housing were off. Just make sure you do this when the belt has slack in it. May need to turn the engine over a couple times.
@@aruosito192... sorry for the late reply. Hopefully you were able to get your vehicle fixed. Just turned the car on and off a few times until the belt reached its most loose point.
Hey, wanted to come back and leave a comment. This procedure worked and solved a similar issue. If I could award you a Nobel prize I would!
So glad it worked for you, and most importantly, saved you some $$$.
First person that did thermostat without timing belt, great news. Thank you for sharing this is welcome news. I subscribed you are a true hero.
Howzt man, apart from the thermostat what else can you look for to diagnose a coolant overheating on a v10 TDI
Thanks!!! Really helpful...... work great!

Did you have to disconnect the hose? Having issues getting it to move enough to gain access to the thermostat

@@QuintonIrick yeah I got it out finally. And it doesn't look bad. Sorry for bugging you. I might just replace it regardless
Thanks for the video. Are you still thinking about doing a system in it?
Happy Thanksgiving

Having a similar problem. With my v8. Did that fix it?
It did. That was the problem
@@QuintonIrick yeah checked all my hoses. Realized it was leaking from the fill tank. Yours looks alot nicer than mine.
Any other tips. I'm getting ready to do it on my vw
Not really... other than to make sure the car is cool. Draining the coolant is also a must.
Did this work out for u?
It did!
What year is this vehicle
