Darn I wish I could have a personal lesson with Mr. Chaney, but my home in South Florida is a tad bit too far from Singapore! I find the tips in this lesson to be invaluable. I'm a right handed golfer and hook the ball consistently! This is very valuable! Thank you sir!
Rob you are the best with your methods of communication and instructions, I’m a good golf but always had a push fade a times. Your instructions explained why and how correct it thank you very much.😊
Thank you this lesson was my light that turned on in my golf mind - thank you helping us to understand this crazy game of golf - Keith Lucero of Penn valley California
Rob, I’ve enjoyed and learnt from all of your HackMotion videos so thanks for making them. I’ve just started training with the device and like it a lot. It’s surprising how straight I hit the ball when I feel like I am turning the club face so far down to the ground with my lead wrist flexion. Do the same rules apply for drivers? I’m also keen to see how it helps with controlling my putter face. I’ll check to see if you’ve done any videos there too.
Simply the very best UA-cam lesson on squaring the club face and consequently reducing the incidence of blocked shots horribly to the right (aka shank) not caused by hosel hit but by open club face coinciding with excessive inside-out swing path of clubhead!!
I’ve recently purchased HM. HM is advocating the left wrist to maintain the address extension or slightly decreasing it at the top, then to add the majority of flexion going into impact. I have a neutral grip. I tend to agree with you that you should be losing all extension on the way back and maintaining that into impact and then you’re simply rotating your core through. Obvious the back swing is much slower, and to me, making it easier to gain you flexion on the way back. Why do you think HM has this different approach? Also hoping the app has a way to reflect full flexion at the top as now to be the proper target numbers shown to be achieved, and also have the sound cue relate to that new increase in flexion vs. it coming on in their range of more allowable extension.
I am currently working on squaring the club face. The club face is open and flat towards the sky on the follow through. I push right or slice right. Good advice
With Brysons grip he internally rotates his upper arm and then externally maxes out his forearm rotation and matches his left wrist to the clubface. He can go as hard as he wants without going left. (Most times). Todd graves has plenty of videos about that grip.
Thanks for asking! Rob’s using HackMotion Pro in this video, but HackMotion Core also provides all the data you need to measure wrist flexion and extension effectively. You can explore HackMotion features here: hackmotion.com/products/
One thing I've noticed is when I control my wrist angles, (as a right-hander) my right arm gets MUCH MORE INVOLVED in the golf swing. Idk if that is good or bad, but it's good for distance, that's for sure.
I never understood why anyone uses a WEAK or NEUTRAL grip because that sets your thumb and your wrist hinging motion perpendicular to the swing plane, which in turn forces a wrist rotation movement during the swing. You need to twist your wrist 90 degrees going up and then back 90 degrees going down. Why the trouble? A STRONG grip ensures you will hinge your wrist in line with your swing plane, so it is one less movement you need to worry about. And as long as you setup the face correctly at address and do the things mentioned in this video, you are not going to overclose it and hook it (face control is given problem in golf, for all grips). I also get the wrist rotation movement may add an extra 5% power to the strike and perhaps that is why pro's use it, but come on, no one here is a pro and golf is already difficult enough.
I generally love your videos on your own channel, both the old one and the new one. However, I have a problem with this video. We have *2* wrists, yet the right wrist is never once mentioned. This doesn’t make sense to me as 75-80% of us are right handed. It is much easier to monitor the right hand for most of us. If the reason for this left handed emphasis is that hack motion only monitors the left hand, then it is an inherently flawed training aid. Thank you for listening. I respect your teaching tremendously, but this one frustrated me.
Question…I’m consistently squaring the face at impact and making good contact within the Hackmotion suggested zone, however, I’m rarely in the right zone at the top of the swing…usually close to 80% too flexed! At address I’m usually between +12 to +18 extension, -8 to -15 at the top (flexed), then -5 to -11 at impact (green zone)…last session was 91% too flexed at the top and 100% in the zone at impact for 32 shots with an 8 iron, all very good shots…mostly straight with a tiny draw on occasion, with a fat or thin one in there as I was experimenting with ball position…any problems with that top number being too flexed like that?
You ever hit a shot and one hand comes off the club? It probably wasn’t the left hand. Yes, 90% of people are right-handed but in golf the left hand plays a big role, perhaps because the pivot of the swing is under the left armpit. Hogan said, he wished he had three right hands. That because the right hand is for power. The left hand controls the club face. And controlling the club face is the game.

Thank you for this, I'll be working on this drill going forward to try and stop the push that I'm struggling to control 👍

This has helped me more than all the videos I have watched. I might have to get the hack motion device now. Thanks for the video!!
Your videos are absolutely brilliant. Thanks for taking the effort.
Excellent tuition and explained in a simple understanding way.
Always working on consistent contact Rob and this was a helper. Thanks for your continuing help. Stay safe-Russ
I’d been trying to correct this exact issue by moving my hands at impact, but your solution fixed my problem very simply. Thanks!
A full detailed explanation with drills, an excellent video, THANK YOU! 👍
Thanks for the pointers and clear explanation. Will try these in the driving range.
Great info and excellent teacher
Fantastic information 👍🏽
This golf lesson is Golden. People below take it with a grain of salt. It's normally worth $50 - $100 on the Lesson Tee.
Excellent tuition! What does the left wrist do from P8.5 through P9?

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're finding the device helpful. The video on wrists for drivers will be up next week-stay tuned. Cheers! 😊

Hi, post ball contact, we suppose to form the arm x factor ? No ?

If your club Face is open, move the ball position forward

You can wear the Hackmotion on either wrist if you get the advanced package…he has done another video addressing that…
