Taildraggers can sometimes be demanding. If you fly them often enough, muscle memory develops to greatly aide you. It's not only rudder control , but aileron into wind on Xwind TO. Certainly relieved to see no damage to the fabulous Mustang. Perhaps some damage to the pilots pride and ego though....!
Old Crow #1 does a slight left turn when the tailwheel leaves the ground, Aint Missbehavin lifts the tailwheel a bit sooner and gets the big swing, Old Crow #2 does a slight left turn when the tailwheel leaves the pavement. Nasty crosswind needs a lot of rudder when the lockable/steerable tailwheel comes off the pavement!
Many P-51s have had jump seats put behind the pilot where the bulky radio equipment was placed during WWII, but not all of them. It really just depends on the owner/restorer.
In his defense, there are 2 groupings of trees adjacent to 18/36, and there was a strong crosswind from the west. He gets sideways right about where the gap between the trees is.
