I was a sales manager at a motorcycle dealer and we had zero test rides with no issues. Even on our used bikes we didn't let them. No deposits nothing could get a test ride.
Dan--Congrats on selling two of your autos in one day. You guys honestly care about your customers and I'm predicting your great months will very soon outnumber the not so great ones. You and Josh keep up the great work. In my opinion good guys always finish first. Wishing you both all the best.
Here's the way to handle the test drive issue: Tell people, if they want to buy the car, you will make the sale "subject to test drive". That means written, accepted offer and deposit. This will discourage absolutely ZERO legit buyers but will scare off test pilots.
@@O1012-u7q is it one of the other? Spending over $200k I believe I would require both a test drive and an inspection. Would you buy a home without touring it?
These are super cars it is acceptable to require a deposit or even a contract to test drive. Those buying the car will appreciate that you are not letting just anyone test drive them. Anyone that refuses to pay a deposit is not going to be a serious buyer. A serious buyer will not care about a deposit.
Your story about how you walked the soy boy in the EV truck made my day too ! And doing it in the GT40 is perfect. the sound probably wrecked is mind. Have a great day!
Why the name calling? Plenty of people who own several exotics also drive EV's. I'm one of them. I find my Taycan to be very comfy hence why I like it.

@@normalguysupercar so normal Jaguar life? 3 good days, followed by 3 months of fixing, followed by 3 good days. Man, thise 3 good days are so good though. 😆
With these auctions if they misrepresent the car can you get your money back even tho it’s “as is” like the one you were looking at was a 5/5 with with the transmission light on?
@@normalguysupercar glad I'm not the only one! Wishing you the best of luck man. Transparency and honesty is your currency. Appreciate your channel. I have a wholesale license here in CA. If I can help you out pls do not hesitate to reach out!
Honestly I think the markets in many areas are well over priced... I don't think we are anywhere near normal. I think we have a reset coming as these cars have been trading at premiums to value the last few years. Once things get tight, which it will, many of these SC's that were bought at premiums will be back on the market at discounts. Just my opinion, but we shall see. Like watching your videos, keep them coming
Regarding test drives - Your policy is reasonable. A serious potential buyer will have the money for the down payment ready to go. By comparison, I bought a new C8 about 6 weeks ago, and my dealership had a Zero Test Drives policy, even with a deposit, even of used C8s. I was told that Corvette owners are extra fussy about even the smallest bit of mileage being put on their new Ferraris, I mean Chevrolets, so the dealership got tired of the drama. Sound likely? 😀
Haha sounds similar. I could see people being all butthurt about extra miles on a consignment car. But for a dealer car, unless it's ULTRA low miles like
When I had a dealership 100 years ago : ) when we put those "sold as is" notices on them, we meant it. We'd have bought back anything the customer didn't want to fix themselves because we had plenty of other customers who also wanted every car we sold. That was when Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari and other common brands were truly "exotic" i.e. good luck finding another one like it within a year and/or 5,000 miles.
@@normalguysupercar Buying an "old" super car with the expectation of perfection is something people with no mechanical aptitude, poor investment instincts and fragile egos do to try to fill a hole in their soul. When it inevitably disappoints them on any of those fronts the psychic injury causes them to act like Tasmanian devils.

I can see that motorcycles would be even higher risk for dumb things happening

Test drives are a part of auto sales. If you have a problem with people wanting to test drive you should get out of the business.
