Your videos have helped me SO much! Thank you! Leica has since sent it's users new firmware to update. Now when I press the MENU button, I get a summary-like page of where my settings are. But if I press MENU again, I get the Favorites page. Again, thank you so much!
Hi I just got this camera two days ago and I am really delighted with it. One think I cannot find if it is possible , is there a way to assign a button for Back Button Focus? I cannot find a way to use the Digital Crop Function Button to to this, Am I right this camera cannot BB Focus?

Hey Mathphotographer. I recently bought a Q2. Your videos are great. The centre button does not activate video mode in recording. However the left right swipe does work. Is their a setting that I am missing. Thanks

Hi, when I meter for the light and use the back button reassigned to AEL (I don't need to hold it pushing it once will lock it, probably available from a later firmware since this video), whenever I try to manually focus or move the focus point I loose the AEL metering. Same if I change the aperture (but that makes sense in my opinion). But why should the metering resets when moving the focus point or manually focusing?
I saw in your other video, that your “selection” button, the central ones between the 4 arrows on the right, is set to switch to VIDEO mode, but i can’t find a way to customise that function. Mine only switched through different screen views. Could you explain how to do set it like you have it? Thanks!
Leica Q2 P mode Need help: Leica Q2 Program/ P* mode turning the thumb wheel changes the aperture only, no effect on shutter speed. I have ISO on Auto and minimal shutter speed set to 1(2f) which is equal to 1/50 of second. The manual describes that while on P mode, turning thumbweel to the left result in greater depth of field( change in aperture) and turning to the right result in faster shutter speed!!! Thanks
I am missing an option to customize the content of the status screen - is this possible? The content of my Q2‘s status screen is different, I would like these to be consistent ... Can anyone help please?
Hi Phil, I don't think the status screen is customizable. Elements on status screen are fixed and cannot be replaced or removed. They are different on SL2 and Q2 because the cameras have slightly different features which likely made Leica to choose what to include, respectively, and what not on the two cameras. Having said that, other camera brands make this customizable and maybe in a future firmware update we might get it. Why don't you write to Leica and propose that change for the next firmware update? I have regular contact with Leica and they are typically responsive.

Being an academic and industrial UX professional (even giving lectures and running a company in Zurich 😉), I do not like to see formatting short-cuts in the Status Screen of my SL2 (like the defaults on my Q2, though).

you have a dial around the lens for aperture and a dial near the shutter button for shutter speed.

In my experience it is best to set the ISO setting to the button on top of the camera as I showed in the video.
Great video, will try those settings. What is your opinion on CL please.
CL is a good camera, I have and use one. Just smaller sensor, APS-C, but fine for semi-professional shootings in any case.
