As a Fuji user I HATE this Q3. I rented it today for this weekends wedding. Where is the joystick? The indention for the thumb is a perfect spot for a joystick. I let 2 other photographers use it tonight and both gave it a thumbs down for user experience.
I followed the Q series for quite a few years, but unwilling to spend 6K for such limitations! If I was using such a camera for street photography, I would prefer to have a 50 mm , that way I wouldn’t have to crop nearly as much to get the 90 mm focal length you’re talking about. Rarely do I photograph people at a wider angle. For me, the Q3 and the digital 90 mm you’re talking about, would be compromised heavily at 11 x 14 size. Right now I’m shooting with Fuji XT5. I have all the prime I need from 18 to 90 mm. The auto focus is great and the crop that I do from time to time is also good at 40 megapixels. It’s nice to be able to carry three or four lenses in my pockets for any occasion.
photos of people shot at 90mm are boring, there is no intimacy. You need to get closer. 28mm is the perfect focal length cause it's good for landscapes and people with a bit of a crop at the same time
I shoot only 28mm for street. It's harder but the images are 'fuller' and tell a much better story. SOme of the greatest street photographers shot at 28/35. 50mm doesn't capture the environment enough for me.
@@Unknownresident621 A lot of the old masters use 50 mm, and I’ve got some of my best shots using that focal length! It’s all about the environment you’re in. If there’s a lot of people around you wider the better, if there’s fewer people I go to the 50 to 85 range. Everybody loves my photos, and they don’t ask me what focal length I took them in!
@@simon359 Yes everyone is different. I had the original Q and it was the only camera I used for 5 years - it went everywhere with me and I became an extension of my eye. I don't see a fixed 28mm as a limitation - in fact it's so freeing that I did my best photography with the fixed lens (many people say the same thing). I have tried other cameras (including the Fuji Xt30 which was horrible and I returned it), but my best photos (and the ones that get the best feedback) were taken with the 28mm. The whole thing I like about Leica is the simplicity - all the 3 key settings are physical dials, no complex menus, no 1000 options etc. This simplicity makes the process of photography so much more enjoyable than every other camera I've used (Sony, Fuji, Nikon). I like simplicity and beautiful design - but that's not for everyone.
@@Unknownresident621 Good points, but it seems Fuji is finally getting auto focus right on the XT5. For me, my eyes are very bad at age 67 and without auto focus I cannot get the street images I want. And I understand, hyper vocal length, but I want a specific type of separation that you cannot get from a Leica! Only true prime lenses can give me this. I use the auto ISO at a certain setting that gives me the separation. It took me a while to figure it out. The pictures I’m getting are absolutely outstanding and I wouldn’t change it for anything right now! 🖖😝
I will never buy a camera at that price level with a lens which shows such horrendos amount of distortion! The ergonomics of this camera is very bad too
clearly you missed the whole point of Leica - it's the experience of shooting that makes it a pleasure. A solid hand built in Germany product vs a plasticy off the line factory in Asia. Why do people invest in a Rolex or another nice watch? An Apple Watch / Casio will do a 1000 more things. I know which I'd prefer. Guess you'd like the Casio because 'it has an alarm'?
Why don't u just get the most expensive brass built model of the PINHOLE camera? It doesn't even have ONE lens like your beloved Q3, but gives you plenty of room for artistic expression. By the way, u can save tons of money going down that rabbit tunnel! 😎😎
I agree. There is no perfect camera except for my 1979 Nikon F2. Ok, I'm boasting about my Nikon, but true, there is no perfect camera. Leica is a Calvin Kline bag for women who live with status symbols. I'll keep my Sony camera and shoot to my hearts delight. I do give my Nikon a little exercise once in a while.

I shoot only 28mm for street. It's harder but the images are 'fuller' and tell a much better story. SOme of the greatest street photographers shot at 28/35. 50mm doesn't capture the environment enough for me.

A lot of the old masters use 50 mm, and I’ve got some of my best shots using that focal length!

Good points, but it seems Fuji is finally getting auto focus right on the XT5.
GASSSS
The only problem with Q series is that you'll pay another 7-10 grand to buy Leica M 😅
@@Ham-yj1od hahah I feel ya. I tried the M, didn’t like it, but just picked up the Q3 43 😅
Bro, OIS is always better than IBIS.
It’s been proven many times that IBIS is better, especially for low light photography
I will never buy a camera at that price level with a lens which shows such horrendos amount of distortion! The ergonomics of this camera is very bad too
It's the best investment in life. 👍
nothing special on those images, mate you can get Lumix 5/2 you’ll get same if not better images
I’m guessing you’re upset that you can’t afford Q3
People on streets react differently to a Leica camera, you can't get over that.
clearly you missed the whole point of Leica - it's the experience of shooting that makes it a pleasure.
@@JonnyRoams 🤣🤣sure
I prefer Fuji....Leica is way too overpirced for what it does.
Nah the M10 is
@@powderedtoastman3093 good joke
Why don't u just get the most expensive brass built model of the PINHOLE camera? It doesn't even have ONE lens like your beloved Q3, but gives you plenty of room for artistic expression. By the way, u can save tons of money going down that rabbit tunnel! 😎😎
As a business owner who’s Q3 makes a lot of my income, that would be the dumbest decision I could make
Unless you grip a Nikon F2, you will not understand what the greatest camera feels like. Screw Leica, Nikon bested them back in the 50s.
How do you have only 6k subscribers and not respond to comments. bye!
Because UA-cam isn’t my full focus as I have client work that takes up 90% of my time! Bye ✌🏼
anyone that thinks leica is perfect loses all credibility
Ok bye
Why are you here ???
Thank you for your very interesting and well spoken comment.
Now you can take your-frustrated-self somewhere else.
