Bro, I know you personally, and I enjoy your reactions when you are being yourself and you have fun with it. Ignore the haters and keep being you! 2025 will be BIG for you, bro!
Met this guy about 3 years ago when I was working at a hotel, they did a "Blast back to the 90s" concert and he stayed with us for a couple nights. Legit a polite and kind guy, was good to the staff and other people who recognized him, he turned out okay.
This isn't even my genre (I'm a metal fan), but I remember when this song came out. It was everywhere and everyone loved it. It was definitely a moment in music. People can hate on it now, but it's still one of my guilty music pleasures.
Man, this was huge my senior year of high school. It came on the radio, I'd roll my window down and jam to the lyrics. Pull up to a stop anywhere and if there was someone my age around, they'd be jammin', too. Gen X did have SOME of the best music, but it was built on the music that came before us, from our elders, and I think we tend to forget that a lot. If there hadn't been The Four Tops and The Shirelles and The Righteous Brothers, or B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Etta James... if they hadn't come before us and given us their best music, we wouldn't have had ours.
I had a white 5.0 droptop Mustang when this came out, it never left my CD player for about six months when it first came out. Everybody like this song back in the day. Young and old. And yes, they say he sampled this from Queen and it definitely sounds a lot like it. Supposedly there’s a couple different beats in it or something but vanilla ice is truly an OG in the game. You cannot deny there’s man’s talent and he is still out there doing it.
He did sample this from Queen and Davie Bowie's Under Pressure and had to pay them some funds for not clearing this sample thru them. Several years later ( I don't know the exact time ) Vanilla Ice bought the rights to Under Pressure and now owns the song, lock, stock and barrel. LOL.
The only thing I can thing about when this song comes on is the “in living color” episode where Jim Carrey did a skit as “Vanilla Ice” and sang “Ice Ice Baby”. Hilarious!
As someone who grew up in the 80s, I see today’s rap and it is so different from what we had. We had people rapping about real issues, and then the drugs and sex and violence took it all over. Now you can’t barely understand anybody.
As far as dancing goes, I was never into rap but even I recognized the moves those late 80s and early 90s guys had. 1990/91 I was in junior high school and all those guys were kicking the Hammer pants and patent leather shoes. It was a whole vibe.
Young reactors are awesome. Theres soooo much good music, from so many different genres out there for you to discover if you listen with an open mind and good heart.
You need to watch the SNL clip of them doing vanilla ice. Love vanilla ice he's totally old school! His real name is Robert Van Winkle. He went on to be a contractor and did a lot of really interesting things with housing. This song is a classic never gets old
I was a rock DJ in Dallas where Vanilla Ice is from. My boyfriend brought him to a party at my house, all rockers and metalheads. He got really mad cuz nobody knew him. That bass line is from Queen. He got sued for ripping them off.
Still is the &&&& even today, amigo, when I was in Iraq we'd play this song from 2 gun-trucks while doing a health & welfare check at a near by city. And heads would start bogging and toes would start tapping, the kids and teens would start dancing.Everyones smiling, having a good time.GOOD music is universal.
3:58 Definitely used to be more common a few decades ago to see rappers dance. You can check out Kid 'N Play - Gittin' Funky for one of the most fun and entertaining rap videos, in my humble opinion.
Yo! V Ice broke down the dance moves back in the day. Queen & David Bowie made that beat. Us hiphop artists love to create our own music based off what we hear. I make my own beats & own rhymes. I don't give a fuck if you like my shit or not. The dancing part... Yeah, fuck that shit. We rap, we don't dance. Hey! That's where the poppin' booty girlies come in. 😂 Ya' feel me? 💯❤️ 😂
"Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice sampled Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure".They did not receive credit or royalties for the sample. Queen and Bowie threatened a copyright infringement suit against Vanilla (aka Robert Van Winkle) the matter was settled out of court, with Van Winkle being required to pay recompense.
Love your reactions my boy ❤ 55 years old here and no id say dance steps went out with Boys to Men and Backstreet Boys. The Temptation's . We had some of the best music your walking a beautiful path enjoy, here was the first white rapper 🌹💘 check out living color, " Cult of Personality" 😅 and have your mind blown 🤯 . They are black rock/metal band 🎉 Hard to find groups that Play instruments and do it live amazing well during a time of no computer aid and auto tune. 💯 Talents. Add to list of Bo Diddly and Jimmy Hendrix ❤ God on guitar Vernon is his name ❤
Lol I don't know about any commercials but it is also from the song under pressure by Queen and David Bowie so you have probably heard it from that unless you have heard ice before but that is where that tune is from Vanilla ice heard " under pressure" and took that tune from that song he got sued or something and had to go to court
We OGs say react to Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Rob Base, Eric B & Rakim, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Boogie Down Productions, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Salt n Pepa and so many others! As for Vanilla Ice. When this came out he got zero respect from the rap community and he was clowned! I’m happy this generation is acknowledging him. He didn’t stay in the rap game but because very successful in his own right with other endeavors. Thank u for reacting to this!! New to ur channel…
Damn, you make alot of sense! Like your analysis, especially about being clean... and the dancing! Ya gotta check out M.C.Hammer, ex pro baseball bat boy, rapper and what a dancer! Peace from Northern Michigan and Happy New Year!
Another great lyric and vocal track from the 90s, Coolio--Gangsters Paradise is top notch. You want clear vocals that has it. Literally one the most recognised rap tracks of all time.
I was in high school when this song came out. It was so overplayed most of us were annoyed with it. One radio station did a top 9 at 9 and played it 9 times in a row. Our cafeteria at school had a jukebox. If anyone selected it and it came on, someone ran behind the jukebox and unplugged it. 🤣
The bassline you are referring to comes from David Bowie and Freddie Mercury doing "Under Pressure". It's not unusual these days to see sampling from old pieces of music that have been misappropriated by profiteering corporations. That's because the copyrights have expired or somebody sold their catalog of music.
What's up???!!!!! You're just here on my feed from nowhere. UA-cam knows what I like. Reaction videos! I was a teenager. Probably about 13-17 while we rocked to Ice. Let me tell you, I was into the Bone thugs and Three six Mafia AND Biggie vs 2pac beef. But Ice was kind of like 69 Boyz Tootsie Roll. Just had me dancing and them boys with the 5.0 in highschool were fiiiine. Nice reaction. I like you just being you. Hope you have a happy New Year
Not only did vanilla ice have great bars for the late 80's oddly mc hammer was the one dude nobody messed with or feel the wrath which nobody would expect
Listen to your elders! We did have the best music! I hope you do more reactions for us elderly folks 🙂 The base line is from a song Under Pressure by the band Queen. Another old school music group you need to delve into. Listen to your elders ... Enjoyed your review.
I'm doing a P.S. here - new to your channel, looking through your videos I see you have already started to delve into Queen. If you reacted to Under Pressure, that's where you hear the base riff.
Bro, I know you personally, and I enjoy your reactions when you are being yourself and you have fun with it. Ignore the haters and keep being you! 2025 will be BIG for you, bro!
most definitely 💯🙏🏾
you the man appreciate you 🎉
I don’t care what anyone says, Ice had BARs
He came from being clowned on to mad respected, there is a reason his album was a massive hit, dude has talent.
Vanilla Ice is getting waaay more love through these reaction videos than he ever did then.
Vanilla Ice sampled the Queen & David Bowie song Under Pressure w/out asking & had to go to court
wow!
Yeah, but Ice Ice Baby had an extra "ding" at the end so it's completely different.
😂😂😂😂😂😂@@greenbasterd9425

I've heard he's a really nice guy. When he was on the Surreal Life, he was the only one who stayed out of all the drama.
80s still killing it.
This some came out in 1990

This isn't even my genre (I'm a metal fan), but I remember when this song came out. It was everywhere and everyone loved it. It was definitely a moment in music. People can hate on it now, but it's still one of my guilty music pleasures.
Jim Carey did a parody of him on the show in living color back in the day. It was hilarious. 😂
"He's white, white baby"

Vanilla Ice also did the the Theme Song to the Original live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie "Go Ninja!, Go Ninja! Go!"
Both of my babygirls song back in the day 1991 when they were kids. This song was played everywhere everyday! 🔥
As someone who grew up in the 80s, I see today’s rap and it is so different from what we had. We had people rapping about real issues, and then the drugs and sex and violence took it all over. Now you can’t barely understand anybody.
He sampled the beginning beat from Queen. Had to go to court.

We had the best 😂❤❤❤❤
the queen / bowie song was 1981... he stole it 1992...
Watch Ice react to his own Video 35 years later. He breaks it down.
MC Hammer danced! So did ALL 80’s rappers. Until the early 90’s.
"hit bullseye because the kid dont play" which is a slight tap to the group Kid N' Play
Young reactors are awesome. Theres soooo much good music, from so many different genres out there for you to discover if you listen with an open mind and good heart.

"Under Pressure" by David Bowie & Queen is the song on the commercial. Vanilla Ice was sued for copying the beat and lost the case.
This song was released on the b-side of the single version.
Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch - Good Vibration
