I have been loc'd for 1 year. My locs are on the thicker side & are very solid & stiff. I recently started using rosewater & it completely changed my life. I love it! I mix it myself w rose petal essential oil & add a lil vitamin e. Bomb! My locs actually move now & feel great. I also get a lot of compliments on the way they smell.
yes I do and I make my own. I can get a bag of rose petals for $3.50 store here called The People United. Ingredients vitamin E & sweet almond oils. Very simple to make
Chryel Renee Smoot .... I did it myself, 2. The florist @ the store was going to throw the rose petals away. I asked if I could purchase them @ a reasonable price. She agreed. I went home & concocted my own recipe with essential oils. Luv it! 😀🤗.
I bought organic dried rose petals. Added distilled water in a large mouth mason jar. Cover. Steep in the hot sun. Chu think? I like this page. Nice a sweet. Thank you.
I heard about Rose Water on locks, and I do use it. I make my own with distilled water and rose buds along with some vitamin D oil and so far it's been working for me. Thanks Leslie
I found rose water made by Cortas at my local Halal grocery market. It was $1.99 for the 10 ounce bottle. I use it with essential oils and love the moist, softness of my sisterlocks.
Rose water is wonderful. Its all i use to moisture my locs. i have dry hair. i find the rose water keeps my hair moisturized and looking healthy. i use 60% rose water 40% vitamin E oil. I love it!
I use DISTILLED rosewater, it's the type of rosewater that's available in middle eastern grocery stores, read the labels because they're not all the same...they actually drink the one I buy and cook with it as well. I buy mine at walmart.ca for $3.00 for 300ml, it's all I use to moisturize my locs, it's freakin awesome. It works way better than plain water because water is actually very drying for locs, if it wasn't why do we moisturize your skin after a shower? Rosewater is what's left over after making rose essential oil.
Dayleeyah Kalonji its actually the air that is drying you out not the water. Have you ever dried out from sitting in a tub or pool of water? No. But once you are out of the water and the air hits you is when you start to dry out so you have to seal in the moisture with an oil or cream.
I get your point, but I look at it like this, we don't live in water, we live on land with air, that's our natural environment. I also grew up in a tropical environment and didn't have to worry about dry hair/skin until I came to Canada. Using oils and creams on locs is a big no no for me, I only use oils on my scalp. I tend to have a different mindset when it comes to locs and don't do the same things people with loose natural hair do. Locs are very different and rosewater is the best non-build up natural product I've found that actually moisturizes. I don't want a oily feeling on my locs because I don't consider that real moisture for locs, or let's say it's not the type of moisture I want on "my" locs. Rosewater gives me the type of moisture I need without the worry of build up. It leaves my locs soft and very moisturized. I understand why loose naturals have to loc in moisture with oils and creams, my daughter does this all the time, it's the nature of what they're trying to do. For me, locs are supposed to be light and fluffy.
l use rose water on my hair. l have made my own & bought some. lately I've been buying it from either a Lebanon or India store. It's much cheaper then the heritage brand. l get a 10 o/z bottle for 3 dollars.
I love the way my locs feel and smell using rosewater. I found some good organic ones on Bulk Apothecary and Amazon. Thanks to your posters I will check the local Asian market not far from me to see what they offer. Love your channel and blog!
+Windsingerful . I boil the water put rose petals in a container or jar pour the water let it sit for a while and than once it has cool down, I use a strainer to drain the petals. I than pour the rosewater in the jar and add oils than pour in my spray bottle and use.
Thank you for making this video. Ive done some personal research on Rosewater and why one would use it, over regular old water. I have not yet found any concrete benefit that rose water offers over regular water. Perhaps, if you have poor water quality (hard, full of minerals) that could build up and dry out your hair.. rosewater would be beneficial... but not anymore beneficial than say, distilled or purified water, from what I understand. Has anyone found any major benefit in using rose water over regular water? I know she mentioned rose oil, but if you already put oil in your hair (or have enough natural sebum) is there really much added benefit? I am really curious bc I've been looking into it for a while now... Thanks!
I am waiting on my shipment of rosewater but I have been using rosemary water and vitamin e. My hair seems to like it but I have 2 stubborn locs that won't loc. Any suggestions???
Did you purchase organic roses, and if so where did you purchase them. I read that using roses that are not organic have pesticides and other chemicals on them. Using roses that are not organic at home to make water can have a damaging effect. The chemicals extracted in boiling those roses transfers to the water, and onto the hair. I have been looking for a while online, a floral company that sell organic roses so I can make my own rose water.
I try to like RW but my hair is sooooo curly it makes my hair frizz soooo bad. I mixed it with essential oils and 100% organic oils and makes my hair so curly and frizzy. Granted my hair is moisturized and beautiful I cant use it when its freshly twisted I normally use towards the end when I need a retwist

Yes only get Organic Roses... Mountain Rose Herb shop is great!
What about rose water and glycerine
I don't use glycerin because it's a humectant and only works well in certain climates
@@thedigitalloctician
Does it work in hot climate "s like Africa?
What else can I use to add moisture to my locs besides rose water?
