White girl with very thin hair strands here. I started a new hair regimine with hair oils recently, lots of compliments. It includes wearing bonnets at night (I was told that's a black thing), hair oil with Rosemary after shampoos or when dry at night, and dry shampoo any time hair is oily for the rest of the week. It's worked really well. A cross section of our hair might be different but I am learning a lot watching hair videos from a diverse set of youtubers. Thanks for this video ! ♥️ To avoid too much oil I half fill am eye dropper and without squeezing the bulb I just drag it over my scalp, then make a bun any stab the bun a few times. After that I put a satin bonnet on and go to bed.
5:24 PM in the afternoon I was searching on my phone for special oils to put on my Locs. Thank you so much for your information and telling me the truth. Enjoy the rest of your day.❤

Hello Queen☀️✨I'm new to your page and huntie I'm happy I found your content. Where are you located? This gone Sound crazy..but as I was watching this video towards the end I had a thought of driving to get my locs redone by You🤔 yeah real crazy kaws I hate to drive🤨I had my locs for almost 3 yrs. Started them in 2019 after my mother passed. It was a long hard journey to healing and by November of last year they began to show the struggle really was real. I have so much respect for the origin and history of locs, I refuse to walk around wit my locs looking exactly like wut I had been threw time a thousand...exactly🥴so I cut them off and burned them. Why burn them? Glad you asked✨I truly believe they held all the pain, heart aches, struggles, trauma and every ounce of negative energy I had carried with me all that time. Once I began to heal I still felt blocked and stagnant, but once I cut them off, prayed over them and released them with love. I burned them with Roses, lavender, sage and cinnamon under the New Moon. Since I did that it's been different both mentally and spiritually, I'm focused and grounded more than I e ever felt since I started my journey. I have osteoarthritis, my hands and arms dnt hold up well for certain things and doing my own locs is one of them. I'm so particular about my energy and those round me I jes can't let anybody put they hands in my head🥴. So I've been in search for a locologist that treat the clients hair like they would their own as well as drop knowledge when necessary concerning there hair, mind, body and spirit. It's been a struggle here in NC. I'm at that place in my life that I'll travel to get what I want if need be. I dibble and dabble in herbal concoctions as well, is I grow my own herbs in my yard all year round. I'ma take the next few days to watch all of your videos, and see if travel is in the stars for me any time soon😁Be well my dear new friend✨☀️🙏
Hi and thank you for the advice/information on locs and the caring of our new locs. I’m 13 days into the loc journey and feeling less stressed and more comfortable with handling my new choices.
Hello Courtney! I live in Rwanda and oils can be very expensive since most items are shipped in. We have avocados in abundance, they grow everywhere. Can I use avocado oil for starter locks?
I workout a lot and I am a woman that sweats from her crown so what would be the best method for me to clean and moisturize my scalp during the starter loc/loc journey?
Hi Courtney, Thank you for this video. I not great about watching what I eat but I try. Has diet been mentioned? It seems to me that I could be “short circuiting” my starter loc journey & undercut your great advice by not drinking plenty of water, not downing veggies, eating late in the evening and not getting plenty of rest?
Please tell me how do I oil my hair? This is a serious question. Do I apply the oil to the scalp and my twist and massage it or just my scalp and massage it? How aggressive should I be when I massage? I have starter comb twists and I’m confused bout this process.
I normally say apply directly to your scalp, and then rub some oil in your hands to put it on the length of your hair. No need to be aggressive, just massage it in your scalp with the pads of your fingers
Should I spray water and use essential, diluted oils on my hair every day? If not, then how often? How long should I wait after a retwist to start washing my hair again? 😂 This may be a stupid question, but I struggle with it.
What would you recommend on hair dreadlocks breakouts ??it's really scary and sad to see my dreadlocks falling off at the ends. Disclaimer:dyed my dreadlocks blonde!
I’m a new follower. I’m also about to try and start my coil locs. Can you please share some hair products that are good to use, other than the oils please.
I just got my locs this week and I've seen many videos a lot of them do mention to find your own combo of hair products that work best for you. I also saw you mentioned that olive oil is good but you recommended that you mix it with something do you think argan oil would be a good mix with olive oil?
Thank you so much I never knew nothing about carrier oils I have some scabs on my scalp I went to see somebody about this got some peppermint shampoo which is working …I’m that person that just put oil in his hair and dip product build up is rea I appreciate it ima check your oil out
Hi Courtney! Soon ill start making my own oils for my statter locs. However after doing research I'm so confused on the required measurements. Have you consudered doing a video where tou step by step create an oil? You have a way of making me understand hair.
I didnt have locs but my hair almost locked up just by spraying water on my 2 strand twists because I didnt want them to look flat. Spraying water on the helped. But you can add moisturizer to the water if you like
Hi I just did starter locs 3 weeks ago. I was wondering instead of using water can you use aloe vera juice, specifically Fruit of the earth by the gallon jug?
❤Love your videos. I wish I could have met you before I moved from the DMV area. Do you have at recommendations for the UK for a loctician? Do you ship overseas or to APO boxes for military?
Now I feel silly since I switched from peppermint oil to castor oil and it was growing my hair like crazy. I'm only 5 months locd but I'm learning every day. Thanks for the video!
i am about to start a loc journey with two strand starter twists! i have a question about oils.... does cold pressed or unrefined have anything to do with how well it works for hair?
@@marier7379 yes! That's basically it. So which to use just depends if you want more nutrient dense oils, which will be more effective in providing the benefits they're known for.

Rose water makes my hair dry and brittle too🙄🙄I love roses but not on my locs
@@TheGannon29 was it rosewater with glycerin??
i made a mixture of water, jojoba oil, olive oil and lavender oil and aloe vera gel into my spray bottle to use every now and then on my starter locs. i am 9wks in.
Very informative… my loc journey is almost two years and my hair is healthy. I appreciate your information.
THANK YOUUUUU! I love this so much especially as an aspiring loctitian!
You're so welcome! We should connect!
Love love love this video! Had my locs for 9yrs and counting. Looking to get some moisture back into these babies 😆☺️
Great Video & advice, Thank you!! I’m considering locs, just researching the care they need.
Yes my sons locs are sooo dang dry!!!! Then oil same as the L.O.C method like for natural hair! Got it! And I need that oooh baby!
Yes!! Let me know how that works for his hair 🙏🏾 And it’s coming. Make sure you’re tuned into my next couple videos!
Thank you so much for the information 😊💕 I’ve been waiting on this one!
It’s my pleasure! Thanks for watching ♥️
How do you properly grow out an afro as a male. What daily steps should I take to prepare for a future locing? Trying to avoid damaged hair and use the right profucts. I think I have 4C hair.
Definitely check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/WQnPpZB6_es/v-deo.html - I explained the simple method I’m using to regrow my hair out for locs! You mainly want to keep it moisturized and use low-manipulation protective styles. I shared products that I’m using in that video!
Thank you for this video!
I use a lot of these oils as a loose natural and its great to know that I can bring them into my loc journey! Back in the earlier days of learning my natural hair, I noticed that the coconut and olive oil wouldn't penetrate properly (now I know that I wasn't just tripping) so I switched to using Avocado oil as my main carrier oil. Can I use it with locs as well?
Yes, what our hair needs is pretty simple. Not much changes in the transition from loose to loc’d! But I’m here to share the differences as well 🙌🏾
I mix mct oil and tea tree oil and spritz my hair periodically. My locs are doing well.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
hey luv i love your videos! i watch them because my boyfriend had love and they taught me a lottt thank you so much!!
My pleasure!!!
I love you sis thsnk you for answering the fall and doing what you do. I'm just starting out myself and I must say you are one of my teachers 🥰
You are so welcome! thanks for watching and subbing!
Wow, am a starter loc I started June 14 and have now been applying any oils on my cos I didn't know which to use but with this video have learned a lot from it .......Thanks very much
I think I will have to start with the peppermint oil + jojoba oil .
Literally standing in the hair care isle listening to this gem…. Bout to grab sum Rosemary/Mint oil to mix in with sum jojoba oil. Hope this works to limit the itching. Thanks sis..!
Oo yes that should be a good combo!! Make sure water is somewhere in your routine also 😉
@@CourtneyGrayton Oh absolutely.. Water is a must. Even allow the steam to do its thing in the shower. Been using aloe Vera juice mixed with distilled water then seal with the oil. Quick question tho. I work out almost daily. Coils completely unraveling left n right. How often should I bother trying to fix them..? I’m using Loc N gel.. Should I use gel and fix as needed (almost every other day) or is that too much..? Sorry for the multiple questions. Last one I promise :) and thank you..!
Thank you my sister trying my locs back 😊😊😊😊
I’m glad you found it helpful! ❤️
You’re such a beautiful lady… thanks for this video and your personality. 😊
Hey everyone! How often should I oil my Locs?
Also, is peppermint and and sweet almond oil a good combination?
Thank you SIS. I am thinking about getting locks but I am concerned about the area the crown of my head where the hair is thin... Any suggestions? ☺
Excellent video! Was very helpful! Thank you soo much.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! 🥰
thank you so much you are a blessing. look forward to more tips and insights.

Absolutely!!
I workout a lot and I am a woman that sweats from her crown so what would be the best method for me to clean and moisturize my scalp during the starter loc/loc journey?
Hi Courtney,
Thank you for this video. I not great about watching what I eat but I try. Has diet been mentioned? It seems to me that I could be “short circuiting” my starter loc journey & undercut your great advice by not drinking plenty of water, not downing veggies, eating late in the evening and not getting plenty of rest?
She can play in my locs all she want 😍
Thank you so much for this video! I found it extremely helpful. What are your thoughts on avocado oil?
Thanks so much for this video.. So helpful with my new locs
Show me how to moisturize and then I'll. What do i use? What is a daily routine?
Please tell me how do I oil my hair? This is a serious question. Do I apply the oil to the scalp and my twist and massage it or just my scalp and massage it? How aggressive should I be when I massage? I have starter comb twists and I’m confused bout this process.
I normally say apply directly to your scalp, and then rub some oil in your hands to put it on the length of your hair. No need to be aggressive, just massage it in your scalp with the pads of your fingers
Thank you so much for the clear, concise information.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Clear and to the point
Awesome video ma'am
I use a mix of olive oil and rosemary essential oil for my locs.
Do I apply them to both my scalp and hair?
Love, Love your video!
Thank you!
Protein treatment and a trim
Love your videos... 💕
Thank you for your commitment 💯
Wish your were in the UK☹️
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 💓
Thank you so much I never knew nothing about carrier oils I have some scabs on my scalp I went to see somebody about this got some peppermint shampoo which is working …I’m that person that just put oil in his hair and dip product build up is rea I appreciate it ima check your oil out
What’s the best shampoo and conditioner for locs! I’ve been loc’ed for a little over 3yrs…❤❤❤
I really enjoyed your video. I have locs and I'm trying to grow these edges in and I have a little spot in the top of my head. What can I use?
Jamaican Black Castor Oil + Peppermint Oil
Thanks Courtney
Thank you & also what brand is the best to buy concerning those oils?
I don’t have a specific brand to recommend but make sure they are PURE essential oils.
Hi Courtney!
Soon ill start making my own oils for my statter locs. However after doing research I'm so confused on the required measurements. Have you consudered doing a video where tou step by step create an oil? You have a way of making me understand hair.
Hi, I’ve definitely considered it. I’ll add it to the list!
@@CourtneyGrayton yayyyy ty
@@brandiedavis9057 it’s my pleasure ♥️
Yes i use some of the same products and others in my locks as well.
Love that!
Great Video Queen thank you so much where can I order your oil products gotta support black business
New subby here! Love your videos! Just wondering when mixing the essential oils with the carriers oils is there a ratio in which they should be mixed?
Thank you! 🫶🏾 and with essential oils, it should be only several DROPS added to several OUNCES of your carrier oil. Hope that helps! 💚
How long do I keep my style in? And what do I do when the back of my locs are getting flat? Thanks
question that needs answer
I didnt have locs but my hair almost locked up just by spraying water on my 2 strand twists because I didnt want them to look flat. Spraying water on the helped. But you can add moisturizer to the water if you like
Woot woot jamaican castor oil with lavender for my win!
glad it's working for you!
I use lavender, apricot and aloe Vera oil with water it be having my hair smelling and feeling godlike!
Sounds good!! 🙌🏾
Please tell me what combination I would use to straight promote hair growth.
What are you thoughts on using Avocado oil as a carrier oil?
I recommend it!
@@CourtneyGrayton Thank You. 😊
How often should I oil my locs?
But God! Won't He Do it!
Congratulations 🎉 🎉🎉
Thank you for this video!! when will your Ohh Baby oil be back in stock????
It's my pleasure! Today!
What is the site to order?
Hi I just did starter locs 3 weeks ago. I was wondering instead of using water can you use aloe vera juice, specifically Fruit of the earth by the gallon jug?
Should be fine
Okay thank you!
❤Love your videos. I wish I could have met you before I moved from the DMV area. Do you have at recommendations for the UK for a loctician? Do you ship overseas or to APO boxes for military?
I see you with the propagated snake plant leave in the vase behind you. Have you transferred it to soil now?
Now I feel silly since I switched from peppermint oil to castor oil and it was growing my hair like crazy. I'm only 5 months locd but I'm learning every day.
Thanks for the video!
Try mixing them together if you like both. & Try to get a very lightweight consistency.
Very informative video! Thank you!
It’s my pleasure! ♥️
i am about to start a loc journey with two strand starter twists! i have a question about oils.... does cold pressed or unrefined have anything to do with how well it works for hair?
Cold pressed has more nutrients, than refined
@@marier7379 yes! That's basically it. So which to use just depends if you want more nutrient dense oils, which will be more effective in providing the benefits they're known for.
My started locs keep unraveling. How do I keep them from unraveling ? I am 6 months Loc'd. Also I have two that are thinning. I don't get any styles. What can I do for thinning?
Use clips when you get a retwist and leave them on for awhile. Thinning usually comes from retorting too often but I’m not sure
I just posted a video about washing and preventing unraveling!
@@CourtneyGrayton ok I'll go to ur channel
I use moringa oil. its great for hair but im not sure if it would be more effective with a carrier oil
Does this help for dandruff? Just starting locs & whew dandruff itchy scalp. Oh asked to soon. Lol I'll try the oh baby
