So gorgeous! That one Philo with the red petioles and emerging leaves. 😍 Bring that one to the houseplant market and the girls will go crazy. Just goes to show how many species are out there that we have no idea about. Thanks for being brave for us because there ain’t no way I’d be going on private property in South (Central?) America. 😂
@@smajliiicka no they weren't they're just saying that if you brought that plant species to market people would go wild for it because of its coloration.
Great video! That wendlingeri is a super cool find! I’ve seen many all over Panama but never this close and never with such a big inflorescence! Next time you’ll need to spend some more time up there, many different hiking trails to discover! Thanks for sharing all the images with me and thank you for mentioning me in the video 🌿🥳 I had loads of fun identifying all the plants :)
I got one more video for ya! And it will feature this Wendi! I’ll be measuring the light in the rainforest to compare with our home light conditions. Stay tuned!!
Great footage, I always wondered what these plants looked like in the wild, they are more beautiful than I imagined. Thanks for sharing. I do hope those wild places remain wild and not overran by tourists.
This area and many other rainforest areas are on private property or indigenous land and protected by the government from deforestation, which is so great to hear. We gotta keep protecting our beautiful ecosystems.💚
Woooooow ooooh wow! That A Wendlingeri’s spadix is the longest ai have ever seen! Ooh Jake, what an incredible find. I too would want to stay there for a bit and immerse myself in its beauty 🥹 Love all the plants you found on there 😊
If we weren’t so far from the hotel I would have stayed longer! Every time I looked out I kept seeing more amazing things. I’m sure there were many more incredible plants nearby that I didn’t get to see. But that’s the exciting part about nature! She holds her cards close.
Awesome!must have been so cool to see those plants in their natural habitat! And damn it sounds like them spiders are too big for me to deal with lol so I may never visit there.,, thank you for taking us on your adventure 😊
Hi there, just want to say well done! Been searching high and low for a wenlingeri video in their natural habitat since months ago. I guess the youtube algorithm finally work and this is the first time I seen a wendligeri in situ, all thanks to you! Keep it up and thank you.
So happy to hear that! Thanks for watching. Another video featuring the wendlingeris in this video (there were at least 2 that I saw!) will be uploaded in a few days so stay tuned!!
That’s so awesome you got to see all those plantsss! Thank you for sharing!!! I noticed you had a light meter. So what was the reading for the anthurium at the end you found? Im curious lol
Good eye! Actually, the next video I’m uploading is of me reading the light in that area to compare with our home light conditions. The video will feature the two wendligeris I saw plus several other plants I saw there including philodendrons, orchids, etc!😃 So stay tuned!!
If anything the rainforest will do more damage to YOU, not the other way around😅😳I feel lucky I came out unscathed being as daring as I was at times lol
@@plantgayforlife I don’t think I can narrow it down to a genus. Their family has way too many genera. I am from Florida so I grew up avoiding them in the woods. They are super cool and come in all shapes and sizes.
Well my friend, while you watch the video from the comfort of your home, I was traveling down a densely vegetated slope at a 45 degree angle, swatting away massive dragon flies and biting bugs, and trying to avoid walking into the webs of giant spiders the size of my hand. My camera is not high tech and isn’t going to give you discovery channel quality. I’m just an enthusiastic hobbyist.
@@plantgayforlife But you are one of the few if not the only one doing this. It was not meant to criticize you, my friend only to suggest something that would draw more subscribers! BTW, I know what you go through down there in the jungles of Central America. I lived for 11 years in Ecuador. Keep going!
Love it Jake... that wendlingeri reveal was masterful. And the shakey cam gives me Blair Witch vibes. 🧙♀ Jokes!, I swear It was awesome. So I spent 2 weeks in Panama City with my wife back in 2011 (pre-kids, haha 🥲), well before I got into the plant hobby. and I absolutely regret not spending more time looking at the flora, literally every day now... this was the ULTIMATE REMINDER. I may need to make a trip back just so I don't feel so stupid about it. 😝
Honestly fccc these fancy cameras cuz they are so damn shaky compared to iPhones. But the image quality is better. Yes definitely go back to Panama and stay at Gamboa! Highly recommend! Trails nearby, an animal sanctuary, beautiful views, great tours and activities!
I love when I just randomly browsing UA-cam and find my new favourite channel
Aw thanks!! Welcome😁
That ending though.
You’re so good at this.
I’m shocked I didn’t leave with a SINGLE tick!
Soooooooo humbling…seeing the plants in their natural habitat…

I pushed my luck really far on this trip.😅I’m still tryna find out what that species with the pink leaves was! Would be cool if it was a new species!
You were not trying to encourage theft, were you? Can't we appreciate these plants in the nature? Do we not have enough?
