    Today, I’m diving into some unconventional exercises designed by my good friend Tom Froese to help me break free from traditional thinking and create more intuitively. We’ll be going through a series of fun, random shapes and letters to see what creative chaos we can stir up. Along the way, I’ll share some tips and tricks for loosening up your creative process, whether you’re drawing, designing, or just looking to shake things up a bit. Check out the full process and see if these exercises can help you create your own happy accidents. Don’t forget to stick around until the end to see how it all turns out!

    Love this thought process, and will totally check out the Skillshare class! Would also love to see your process for the riso color technique. I'm not seeing a video on that on your channel yet. Am I missing something, or is it still coming? 😉

    I really like this new concept! It was really interesting. I've always liked the blob challenges so this put a new twist to them! Thanks for the inspiration!

    One that I like is breaking down inanimate objects into shapes and creating things from that.
    Thanks for the drawing practice ideas!

    I’ve always done this with my note pages without thinking, there is just only so much room for doodles on them.

    I often scribble randomly until I see an image emerge. Then grab it and go!

      Exactly. Getting SOMETHING down on a blank page is all it takes sometimes.

    Worst job - worked the register at a store that sold individual plastic flowers and plants. No one ever bought less than fifty flowers. The barcodes were wrapped around the stems and most of the time I had to type in the number..for each flower. There was no "x5" option. There was never a happy customer. All Karen all the time.

    They do stick together tho and it’s so annoying. Never had the nerve to ask for sheets of plastic every slice of thing …

    • @chris-piascik
      @chris-piascik  15 днів тому +1

      Haha yeah I get it, but putting a tear sheet in between every piece is pretty wild and wasteful. Also it always seemed to happen on the busiest times. Lol, I can’t believe how much I still remember that experience.

    • @DanielaAlarconilustracion
      @DanielaAlarconilustracion 15 днів тому

      @@chris-piascik you said it it’s wasteful as. That exercise got me thinking about my last and only job I had before turning into illustration, pretty wild stuff lol mostly boses being petty and overly vigilant and me being super immature about the whole thing like I was still in high school 🫢

      Also terrific work! Lately I feel like I can separate the pros from the beginners by seeing how each reacts to creating little turds as you called them. Pros move on quickly. Tom knows good assignments too 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
