- Hiiii friends!! Ahhh it's been so long and I am REALLY missing beauty content. Not being able to do my 'normal' things like filming and have time to myself has actually been one of my biggest struggles postpartum. But I have managed to get a vlog together so I hope you enjoy it. I know it won't be for everyone as it's 99% about mum/baby life but I do hope to get to some beauty content soon!! Thank you Maite! I definitely feel like we have more a rhythm but I absolutely still feel times of stress. I’m still working on this whole new life that’s changed for me. It’s been hard not having a lot of time to myself anymore but we’re working on it. I’m very lucky I have a big family to help though 🥰 hopefully I can upload again soon ❤️

She is adorable. This is such a lovely age! Target's onsies rarely fit my grandson's feet when he was of that age, & he doesnt have big feet. Lovely video. 😊

Finding your groove and getting a routine is one of the hardest things to get down in the first couple of months.
And once you get a decent one down pat, your routine changes with them a bit again 😂😂.
Sounds like you're on a roll now, which is great.
Hahah right! It all changes as soon as you think you’ve got the hang of it 😅 I’m feeling good where we’re at though, just working on the naps
@TanikaJaun yeah it stays still for a while then they grow and develop and you're on to the next routine. It's just as they're growing so fast in the first 2 years that it can be a challenge to keep up. But you're doing great. And you're right. First 6 to 8 weeks are *usually* a bit of a nightmare and you're lucky if you get to brush your teeth or even have a shower. And that's ok.
You just do you.
And working on a nap routine is always a good thing but she may then start to only nap once a day in coming months and it be a *big* solid nap (usually over an 1hr) and all you do is just go with that flow.
You're doing just that and doing it just fine. 😉😊
When you do the "no contact naps" she will likely cry a bit as she adapts. That's *normal* . Just take it slow and keep persisting but if she gets way to upset, settle her in your arms and try again another time.
That's how my friend did her transitions.
She also rocked the bassinet/crib to help sooth and patted her gently to help sooth. But if bubs was *really* working themselves into a state, she would give a cuddle and try again and if it was off the charts screaming I'm not having it, she went back to contact until the next day.
It will take time and persistence but it *will* eventually happen.
Warning though, it can upset you a fair bit as you can't help but be upset when your bubs is confused and upset.

Love this, it show we’ve been trying to transition. And yes, the other day she was getting really upset and still wouldn’t settle when I picked her up and I was starting to get upset. It’s hard but we’ve been working on it the last week and seem to be making progress xx
@TanikaJaun it's just a *lot* of patience (and being kind to yourself to here) as well as time. She'll get the hang of it and so will you.
It's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen in a month or so. Just means she's going at her pace.
But when they do that cry that means they're going to be almost on the edge of no return, you *have* to step in and sooth them.
They don't understand and parents can't explain it.
My used ques. Like she would read a story, sing lullabies while changing nappy, sit in the chair and sing (and rock) to another lullaby (ir whatever tune you want), then have the white noise machine on and the gently lay them in. They then sit next to them - sometimes rocking or patting them then removing that altogether but still sitting so bubs can see you and then when they drift off, walk out.
But it's repeating that over and over.
My friend found the ques of the routine to the build up to "nap time" helpful to indicate to bubs that story, then songs, then white noise and being laid down was how it went.
But you'll find your own routine and what works for you guys.

You are an amazing mum! The best thing I did to ease off contact naps was having the mattress on the floor and lying next to the baby cuddling, then slowly packing away of the mattress. This didn’t work till she was about 12 months but I found I could lie next to her and use my computer or read, until she was ready for me to reliably leave for a nap ☺️
