    Great vid, Tanika. Yes, motherhood is full on and bloody emotional. But luckily we love them bubbas so much! You're doing a great job. Your hardest critic is yourself. Keep doing content when you can. Your fans understand and will be here to watch whenever you get a moment to post something. Lots of love from WA ❤

      Thank you! Definitely sooo many high expectations and pressure to have this perfect baby and be a perfect mum. This is why I like to talk about these moments too cause there’s gotta be other people feeling the way I do. But you’re so right, happy mum, happy bub will always be the way. Thank you for your comment 🥰❤️

    Well done fitting a video in! It is amazing how much of our time babies take up, many new mums can attest to never being able to finish a hot cuppa... let alone making a youtube vid.

    I had a massive shock when I had my daughter: I thought you have a baby and they just have to fit around your lifestyle and you go back to work full time when they go to daycare. I was in for a SHOCK. I thought I’d made the biggest mistake of my life. lol. But I look back at those contact nap days and breastfeeding and wish for them back (my daughter’s 10 now). Try to enjoy it but also take time for yourself too. You’re allowed!!

    Tanika, it is perfectly *normal* (hate that word), to get angry & frustrated when you have a young baby/kids in general. So please don't worry.
    I have found that when that happens, i need to do deep breaths and count to 10. I know it sounds cheesy but by the time I get to 10, I'm a *little* calmer, not 100% but it helps me to push through so I can check myself & not yell or get angry or as frustrated.
    I have driven in a car with a screaming 6 week old.
    It's *very* distracting and upsetting, etc.
    Sometimes we have to just push through it as we don't have any option until we get home or to a safe space to stop for a while.
    It is ok to get upset, cry and have all the feels.
    Sometimes walking away for 10 seconds and breathing, giving yourself a "pep talk" that you *can* deal with this and manage yourself and get through it.
    But, when in the car, you can't walk away for 10 seconds.
    I'd maybe (and you absolutely don't have to do this), do cert short car trips, e.g. around the block then around 2 blocks and so on, with Amelia as part of your routine. Having her "comfort" items, toys for distraction, etc with you. And do these practice runs and at the end, give her the biggest cuddle and do all the soothing, ending on a postive note, whether that be a bottle, play time whatever that looks like to you.
    Hopefully, she will then realise the car isn't a "bad" thing and that she always gets cuddles and postive attention as soon as it's over.
    Play some calming music in the car or kid songs and sing along, as your voice will also sooth. Or just sing out loud with no music. Whatever works best for you.
    These are just some tips that I've found helpful - but you need to find what works for you and Amelia with car time.
    And when you get those pressure cooker moments when you feel you're going to get mad, yell, whatever. Remind yourself that *everybody* feels these feelings and it's ok and just try to keep going and hang in there.
    I also find punching a cushion helps when I'm super mad but trying to contain myself.
    It could be self talk, affirmations, punch a pillow, breathe and count to 10, whatever "calming" & "disengagement" looks like to you - and remind yourself that it is ok to feel what you feel.
    Sorry this is long, but don't be too hard on yourself. ❤❤
    P.S. have a few default people to call when you feel these feels in case Clinton can't answer. Maybe a friend, your mum, sister etc

      Thank you!! I appreciate the big comment 🥰 it can be so hard to regulate my own emotions in those times. I’ve gotten better at it over time because she would cry 99% of the car trips but I’d just tell myself we’ll be home soon and she’ll stop as soon as I get her out. This particular day was just not a good one and my emotions were HIGH!! But I will definitely use the counting to 10 method! She’s gotten way better in the car but occasionally has a meltdown if she’s tired. But that’s it, everyone has these moments, I like to hear of others saying they do. It really makes me feel better.

    Same with the Rimmel Foundation. I dont know what I'm doing wrong haha. The original was my fav for such a long time. The newer one is more fuller coverage when I compared, the shades are darker for sure. But around my mouth and chin the new one definitely breaks up.

    My eldest daughter screamed for, almost the first year for the whole car ride, we had a rattle that we permanently rattled for the entire trip, which seemed to calm her, then we got a, one of those wind up musical boxes that are attached to musical mobiles and did that to begin with, then the rattle when the wind up ran out. And had to put it right in the Capsule where she could hear it clearly. I feel ya

      The things we have to do! It’s just so stressful isn’t it. She’s definitely gotten better but I still freak out when she’s just a screaming and screaming. I swear people drive SO SLOW too when your baby is going off

    I understand about your 'organisation needs' I used to be exactly the same. Don't panic, the world will go on without you, life will continue if dishes,washing,etc don't get done. I know it's hard when it is your essence to be like that, but it really will be ok if you check out on it for a bit

    Also, if you can figure out her favourite songs, and play them in the car, and even sing along, that can help too. I'm sure you've probably already tried some of this, but you never know. Desperate times call for desperate measures

    • @TanikaJaun
      @TanikaJaun  8 місяців тому +1

    I also find, as do many MUAs, that skincare in makeup, especially foundation, makes the longevity be a flop.

      My holy grail, Missha Perfect Cover, would be an exception to that. I got me through 14 hour nursing shifts!

    • @everogersdownunder1242
      @everogersdownunder1242 9 місяців тому

      @ambergerhelper7852 I've got the Missha BB with skincare and spf and again it won't last. Especially on combo oily skin types.
      Skincare in makeup e.g. foundation tends to last longer on those with normal to dry to very dry skin types.
      You get an oily person and it will wipe off within the hour.
