My three daughters had the opportunity to meet Kate at an XC race. They were so inspired by her. It was amazing to see her speak to my daughters. Her words and the way she spoke were very empowering. In Kate's words “You can be feminine and girly and sparkly and be a really badass bike racer as well.” Its great to see a top level athlete give back through mentorship as well as the personal cues of self-expression that help instill confidence. These efforts can really impact young women.
Wish I could SLOW all of this down for Kate ... I went to high school in Novato with her dad TOM & then late 19900s I raced MTB years later raced MTB in the end of 1999I raced with THOMAS UCI in Napa & Sea otter multiple years etc....... She seems to have a good perspective
