Edit: The mortar comes from MGS4. It wasn’t a weapon you could put in your inventory but it was placed around maps. Thanks to the replies for pointing this out since I couldn’t find any footage of it. ----- If anyone’s wondering about Snake’s up smash, the mortar, I couldn’t find any footage of that weapon being used in any of the MGS games prior to 2008, including MGS4. Even in modern games like The Phantom Pain I couldn’t find anything. And when I tried to look for information online about the weapon as far as the MGS games there was nothing. I swear I saw an online screenshot of it in MGS4 years back, but no luck. I mostly watched through full gameplay videos to gather these clips and they were each hours long, so after a while I kind of just gave up because it was getting too tiresome sitting down for two or three hours just to find one clip of someone using the weapon. Especially when I don’t even know where to look. It’s also because of that that I didn’t bother looking for the rest of his tilts or aerials. Although I believe most of them are original anyway. This video is sticking to his primary moves and animations. I’m no professional, I’m just a curious guy.
The mortar first appeared in MGS4 and was showcased in some of the beta gameplay footage. I’m guessing the Smash team saw the early gameplay footage and went ahead and added it to the moveset.
Yeah, I miss CrappyCaptureDevice’s videos too. Those were of course the inspiration for making this (and others that I’ve done as well). I don’t plan to cover every fighter, but I wanted to at least see a couple of them broken down in his style.
Details about the C4 would've been nice. And the C3-shaped Butterfly from MGS3: Snake Eater is a good detail, and how the scenes put together made it more sensible.

@@donkeykongisytpooping3002 Ah, I knew it. I had a feeling it was from that game. I guess I should’ve looked further.
MGS4 has mortars. They're placed around some maps but they're not a weapon that goes in your inventory.
@@king0fthesea That explains it
The spin kick originated from MGS2 + his forward throw resembles a CQC throw you can do from a chokehold from MGS3
Nice! A moveset origin. So glad we have these again.

Well it’s pretty self explanatory so that’s why I didn’t say anything there
BTW, I've always been a fan of CrappyCaptureDevice's format for Smash videos. I'm just sad that whole basically just disappeared after 2011.
Same. I like his more simplistic, educational-video-type approach. Would’ve loved to see him do the rest of the Ultimate roster.
