I first came here in 2013. Such a haunting, beautiful and timeless tune. It can, and has made me weep. 10 Years later and only 234k views? Our civilization is lost.
Patty Griffin is underrated, both as a songwriter and as a singer. She can reach that special spot, somewhere in the inner ear and in the heart of the brain. What a great song. Also, great work on the resonator. Love it all.
Music, when done right, is an experience which the soul recognizes and the heart craves. People talk about what Robert is doing for Patty, it is clear to see what Patty has done for Robert. Beautiful music.

There are some nights when Patty Griffin is one of the most gifted, important and deeply, deeply singer songwriters alive. I'm glad she got out of the Band of Joy to return to where she belongs and what we need her for. It's fine to dabble and to dally but this - this is what she was born to do. Thanks Robert for allowing her to swim back in her sea and giving her some of your power in this song.

I was first a fan of Robert Plant and then I discovered Patty Griffin in the soundtrack for Elizabethtown and have followed her since. I felt her contribution to The Band of Joy album was minimalist for all her talent, but now what she has done and his minimalist contribution is like a tribute to her abilities and it blows me away. No ego, love after all!!!

This album is a jewel. A dream team of musicians with Luther and Cody Dickinson. Many blessings to Patty Griffin as she remembers her father in such a beautiful way.

GREAT song!!!! And I think Robert Plant does a superb job accomanying Patty...they have GREAT chemistry together! And have been singing together for a while. I think she dominates this song like she should and Robert doing great in background vocals! I have seen them perform live together and they are AWESOME!!!!
and in GA i have found a Singing Tree. acoustic sweet spot in a nook valley, all the blackbirds sit there to sing, and the bounce comes back to them. between two very old churches in Kirkwood. magic happens.

Well said. Patty Griffin is one of the greatest song writers that has ever existed. Her energy sequesters the moment and that's all she needs - just Patty and her guitar - not a video that takes the moment away from the song.

Actually heard this on a morning accustic jam today, and it was clear right away it was Patty with Robert Plant in the backround,,,,,, I mean really I suspect major hearing loss in some of the commentary, maybe it is time to replace your hearing aid battery.

When this video started, I thought it was going to be animation and hearken back to the Rain music video, which is so incredibly good, but when they mixed in those weird shots of Patty and Robert standing next to each other all 1980s style, I thought it was a music video from Beavis and Butthead or something. Great song, though, and love Patty.

I never imagined this beautiful song could speak of an underground raillroad... the comments here lead me to wonder... My Great-GrandMother contributed to their safe-haven... what it must have been to travail a foreign land knowing only arrows and secret directions...
