I just came across this run and its so impressive on so many levels Bro you literally riding on a whole other course I couldn't get to as a kid w how crazy those jumps are most skillful part of the video has to be at 2:50 because I cannot comprehend how you managed to get across those bumps so smoothly without losing any speed, especially the second set after the turn. that is some godmode shit right there.
I noticed that the IL leaderboards got moved to speedrun.com and a lot of runs, including this one, aren't showing up. Is that something to do with a new rule or are the leaderboards on speedrun.com just not complete yet?
they're incomplete. a majority of the runs you see there right now are imported directly from the merqurycity boards, but there are also some obscure videos that have to be sought out for some categories. also i was working on them myself a while back and got roughly halfway through... i want it to be done by the end of the year at the least.
from the looks of it, not by much if at all.. it'd really only serve to make the section look smoother (though you would eventually come back down from the wall and have to either swap to the opposite wall, directing your momentum in the wrong way for a while, or just falling back in line with the middle path). note the speedometer staying generally at 70 or higher during the section. perhaps there could be a way to optimize the landings of each bump with precise boost usage for the best results possible. btw i really appreciate that other people are looking for ways to beef out these times more!
Alpine boards (the long ones) are the best for racing on most characters. For Elise and Zoe (and maybe more) the best is BX. The course also determines the best board style - for example Alaska is best with the Alpine, Mesablanca is best with BX
His ability to maintain top speed is worse than Brodi, but he's capable of accelerating to top speed much quicker. Also, his Dervish trick is faster than Brodi's fastest trick, Cordova. What's more is Mac's jump height is WAY better than Brodi's, making the jump at roughly 1:19 on the in-game timer much easier.
@@kelecat7094 Thanks for replying! I've used to play this game loads when I was younger but never knew characters had different jump heights. Do the stats lie on the select screen then? Otherwise you would pick Mac with the Uber Board as statistically it's speed is faster than the long board.
The stats don't outright lie, it's simply that Alpine boards are leagues better in speed. A 49 speed stat on Alpine would be slightly better than a 49 speed stat on BX, and much better than a 49 speed stat on a Freestyle. The difference is well enough to justify swapping to a weak Alpine board from a strong Freestyle board.

He looks like a penguin
I see that you are using the longer boards when you do these types of speedruns on GC.
Does it help or is the board helping you with the run.

@@kelecat7094 Ok got it. What about The Alps or Snow Dream or Garibaldi.
BEST GAMER
Can you explain why you use Mac? Isnt he slower?

😎👌
U are the best
Uh.. you don't start with tricky.. Am I missing something?
if you mean the way i get full boost, it's a quick knockdown on Seeiah that I quickly interrupt with an uber trick
Can you explain crouching vs holding forward? Do they give the same speed increase?
Crouching stops you from launching keeping your airtime low so you can maintain speed.
이건 또 뭐야 ㅋㅋ
