I'm going to show you how to make delicious keto protein bars. These healthy protein bars are so easy to make, and you can keep them in the refrigerator or the freezer. Just take one out when you need it, and have it right after a meal.
It can be difficult to identify if the products you're shopping for are actually healthy or not. For a product to be keto-friendly, it has to contain less than 50 grams of carbohydrates. The label "keto" or "keto-friendly" has nothing to do with the type of carbs or the quality of the nutrients. I believe some keto-friendly products are even dangerous.
It's crucial that you check the labels on the products you buy. Even if the product is keto-friendly, it may not be healthy. It's not "lose weight to get healthy"-it's "get healthy to lose weight". To get healthy, you have to consume healthy ingredients.
Healthy Keto Homemade Protein Bar Recipe
    Ingredients:
1 stick of butter (or 1/2 cup coconut butter or coconut oil)
    2 Tbsp xylitol or erythritol
1 cup coconut flour, whole egg protein powder, or whey protein powder
    1 cup crushed nuts
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    A pinch of sea salt
    Directions:
Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Form the bars and place them on the cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until the bars have hardened. Store the bars in the freezer or refrigerator. If you store them in the freezer, take the bar out and leave it at room temperature for about 5 minutes before eating.

This is a Magnum Opus video Dr. Berg! It completely answers the question on non-sugar sweeteners that I asked you during your Friday show a few weeks ago. I am disappointed with these companies.😭 It feels like they have lied to the diabetic community. 😡 THANK YOU for bringing the truth to light. On behalf of my keto T1D daughter, thank you!!!!! Her A1C may come down even more now that we have this info. Also, I took your advice and wrote to three different "Stevia" companies, asking for written documentation proving that there is no moltotextrin and/or additives in the production process. Still waiting for their responses. I was almost in tears watching this video. You put so much work into it. This mama bear thanks you from the bottom of my heart!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I agree I was just about to make protein bars for our household cuz the cheapest I could find them was on sale $35 for three boxes and they're really not that great at sprouts but we have all the keto ingredients however the only recipe I could find was like a mostly collagen powder one ( whey isn't an option here) so I feel more confident about this one... On another kind of creepy note I realized today that Dr Berg's actually sounding the alert on the poisons and chemicals in foods which are causing widespread dementia/ Alzheimer's and diabetes and one of the things I realized today is that when people have these conditions they crave these non keto items like junkies, I know this from personal (seniors in my care) experience and from countless stories I've heard. Nobody ever craved a loaf of bread 50 years ago, this stuff is poison!

Incredible recipe! And I would not add sweeteners at all since butter and coconut already adds that sweet taste because of the fatty texture. Instead, I went on, and I put in cinnamon, ginger and cardamone. That's my personal improvisation :D

    • @andrzejkulakowski
      @andrzejkulakowski 2 роки тому +9

@@moonshynegirl172 Agreed, and after awhile based on my personal experience, sugar alternatives are not needed at all since the bud receptors change somehow that (in my case at least) that only salt and fat tastes best. I tried stevia as a sugar alternative for coffee, but that didn't go well at all, so spices + coconut + butter + pinch of salt to coffee (as in a modified bullet-proof coffee of mine) works best. I'm also adding creatine periodically, but my coffee is slightly warmer than lukewarm, so I hope creatine doesn't lose its value.

The semi sweet lily's chocolate chips are fantastic. I use them in recipes, but more often just eat a handful after a meal. In my area a 9oz bag of lily's chocolate chips is only about a dollar fifty more than any of the 3oz lily's bars. It ends up being way cheaper to get a bag and eat a little at a time. They melt well and are great for ganache too.

Update: I left a message that these were too crumbly to hold together so I added a bit of water and squeezed a tablespoon of the mix and it held together. They looked terrible but I froze them. This morning I tasted one. It was delicious!!! I did use the whole egg powder that Dr. Berg suggested ….maybe that made it crumbly…not sure but I would use it again.
Next time I will still use the water to moisten the mixture and press it into a parchment paper sleeve lined 8x8 and freeze it. The sleeve makes it easy to pull it out and then cut it into bars. Well I will find out, but this is a keeper for sure. Thanks Doc!

I’ve added spirulina, maca, cacao powder, matcha Thank u for talking about the sugars artificial sweeteners. First time I used Stevia, I woke up in the night with horrific leg cramps. I couldn’t figure out what I ate, stevia was only thing new to my diet, it was the Steva.

Thanks for the info on maltodextrin. I couldn't understand before why I would get the sugar high and crash from stevia in the raw. Have switched to another sweetner.

Thanks for educating me about the raw stevia and dextrose. About the stick of butter, is it melted or room temp soft when mixing together with the other ingredients?

My dear Dr Berg I’m having difficulty finding whole egg protein powder. Could hemp hearts be substituted? I can reduce to a powder in the blender. I guess it could alter the taste & maybe texture somewhat though.

Dr. Berg. I do believe you are reading my mind. I was going to message to ask if you had recommendations for a favorite trail mix blend with superior nutrition to others, good combos of micronutrients and minerals, etc. What you posted sounds great! I’m a long-distance backpacker that agonizes over every ounce in my pack. I recently realized that protein is as important as carbs (and fat) in endurance.
