I watch SDR 80-90 percent of the time. I watched live badminton tournaments for 7-8 hours at a stretch and all this while, my Bravia 7 has been stellar, bright fast movements with no pixelation etc, and such vibrant colours, astounding performance for a live telecast. Also before I could not make out what the commentators are saying, but with the Bravia 7, I can hear every single word and exclamation. Before I sleep daily, I will put on some HDR content to remind myself the true potential of my Bravia 7. Simply love it. 🤩
Same here, I love mine. The motion in movies and games and SDR brightness is absolutely incredible, I'm noticing things on old Blu Rays I never noticed before. HDR is obv top notch too. I did tweak the settings to get more contrast, color, and deeper blacks out of it but only took a few minutes. 😊 Incredible TV.
@@Nitro192192 Same! Today I made an amazing discovery. I was at a TV store and just for fun, I asked to watch my live badminton SDR content on a LG G4. I was shocked to notice there was pixelation on the movements of the players when there was non on the Bravia 7 both in a store previously and in my home since I have the Bravia 7. Also the sports content looked way more natural and vibrant on my Bravia 7. It was a revelation to me and I love my Bravia 7 even more now. Maybe the legendary processing in a Sony is really not a myth. ;)
@@miltyap5600 Exactly, Sony processing and motion is the best in the business. For both gaming and movies, also the new Backlight Master Drive is incredible, I was watching Prometheus last night and there was times the blacks were so good I felt like I was watching it on my C7 OLED. This TV is pure magic, I actually called in sick last week to stay home and watch movies on it lol.
The W95A looks better but needs a few more nits to make it identical to the BRAVIA7. That said, I like the Panasonic best. It has a warmer tone, but I guess you can tame the Sony down to match that warmth. What's nice is the extra nits if you want things brighter.
Ya the panasonic has the look that I tune my TV's for. Reminds me of my custom tune which isn't something I normally see out of the box from other brands, so good on them for that.
Another fine video Brian. I bought my qn95c on watching your videos buddy and am forever grateful. It still amazes me today how close it is to oled on contrast. Happy new year Brian to you and your family.
The shadow detail and contrast on w95a looks awesome! Ill have the 85 inch in for review in a couple days to see how it stacks up to the smaller versions. I paid 1499 through Amazon discount. Great review Brian.
To my eye, the Panasonic looks better. Glad I took a chance on it during the Costco $799 sale. I absolutely love it. Only use Dolby Vision with Apple TV and my content has never looked better honestly.
Yes the Panasonic. I don't know it's just crazy I have a Panasonic plasma. I love the Panasonic even though it doesn't score very high ratings it's crazy real world you know awesome thank you Brian
Great review Brian of both tv's going against one another. Which tv would I choose if I had to? Thats tough because its to close to call in my opinion. Which means I couldnt go wrong with either one. But I am an OLED guy so both would be out. But both tvs are very very good.
The Bravia 9 is definitely levels above the W95A in all aspects. The W95A isn't meant to compete with the highest end and it's no where near the price of the Bravia 9. So Bravia 9 easy win.
Am i missing something? Why is the Bravia 7 getting so much recognition when most of the scene appear better on the Panasonic? Idk if its just me but since the last update it seems like Sony increases blooming
The Bravia 7 wins in every way. The Pana looks like an old Samsung out of the box. The colors are completely oversaturated and the Bravia 7's supposedly higher blooming is due to the camera. The Bravia 7 is significantly brighter and the Pana is very poorly calibrated out of the box...
The Bravia 7 is getting love as it is very good and was overlooked at launch . The Panasonic looks more even as it isn't as bright and has a more natural look. The blooming is not the camera. It only struggled in Dolby Vision and I explained why. They are both very good and very different. Thank you for watching
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I probably didn't hear that it was DV, my mistake🙄 I took a look at a few measurements from the Pana and the rest of my impressions didn't disappoint me. The Bravia 7 is except for the native contrast, better than the Pana in all image aspects and the Pana is really poorly set up out of the box. Experience tells you that if a television looks significantly different out of the box than a Sony, then there is usually something wrong🧐😁 With a few exceptions, Sony televisions were/are very accurate in their picture modes out of the box. I don't want to criticize anything here, you're doing a great job👍
Very interesting. From what I saw/noticed/heard: Panasonic: Better Blacks/Dark Scenes, more natural/accurate colors, more interesting earth tones/grays/dark scenes, 144hz perk for PC/laptop gamers, cheaper chassis/build quality. Sony: Brighter, Better at handling Motion/Dynamic movement/inserted frames?, Slightly washed out/overbright backlight/blooming/whitening out detail, less inky blacks, 120hz gaming, high quality chassis/premium build quality. I am very curious what both miniLED options/improvements look like for 2025, as that is the year I would pull the trigger.
Panasonic W95A has a huge problem if you're ever going to use it for gaming...local dimming is disabled if you activate VRR...which causes image quality to degrade noticeably in game mode... Other than that it's a great TV.
Unfortunately, most leds local dimming is compromised with game mode and vrr. If your on console I'd disable vrr. Screen tearing rarely happens in console as most games have a built in vsync.
Is that Panasonic a WOLED? I haven't followed Panasonic TVs since the day of plasma since I am in the US market. If it is a WOLED I'm quite impressed, it absolutely destroyed the Bravia 7- which doesn't inherently surprise me. What surprises me is that I do not see any subtle bluish green push in white which is typically an inescapable inherent aspect to WOLED due to the white sub pixel. A lot of people never notice this, even reviewers such as yourself. However, if you take a close look at virtually any QD-OLED or mini LED vs WOLED comparison videos and pay close attention when both are displaying the color white (clouds, waves etc) you will see it. It's easy to spot when you have a TV that uses true RGB pixel structure next to a WOLED. You can actually see this bluish green tint in all colors in WOLED and once you notice that it's there you can never stop seeing it! EDIT: I just looked it up and that Panasonic is indeed a mini LED. Wow. That is some of the best picture quality I have ever seen from a mini LED. Could easily be mistaken as OLED.
It's a Mini-Led but they have two oled offerings. The MLA Z95A and WOLED Z95A which are both on the channel. Please check them out and thank you so much for watching.
For SDR: I’d say 40-50% is watching on non-4k hdr. Anything on dish network, all live sports, and most of Amazon prime/hulu/hbo max, that isn’t in 4k HDR. THERE IS more NON 4k hdr content out there than HQ 4K. IMO. 🎉
The Panasonic is great. The Bravia 7 is better. Color, sharpness, and highlight brightness... the Panasonic is just a little warmer. which can look good at times. but it's not as correct. I would own Either one and be very happy. Being as close are they are, Price alone would make me buy the Panasonic.
@ get a better monitor to watch the video on. The Sony picture is better in every scene. And that is not saying Panasonic is bad. The Sony is out performing it. Sorry you can’t see the difference. Can’t make you see what you can’t see.
The Sony is clearly brighter but it can lead it to look more washed out and not as colorful and saturated as the Panasonic. The Panasonic is also warmer so it leads to colors looking richer & better than on the Sony. When the skin tone test and Dolby Vision test were presented, the Sony looked hazy, like it was a film on the screen. The Panasonic was clear and the skin tones looked nice. I prefer the Panasonic.
Panasonic has more enhanced detail and you can see more of images in nearly all sense's Sony is Just Brighter Be interesting to see Motion Also I think if you up Gamma or Black Bars on Panasonic or Down them on Sony They would Match
As a gamer I will be going with the Bravia 7, I can just tweak the picture settings on the B7 for better contrast/blacks, the Panasonic sadly turns off local dimming when VRR is enabled, this will turn most gamers like myself away from it sadly. that's a big defect.
I totally agree with what you say. I bought the w95A and loved it but was disappointed when I activated the VRR and saw the image degradation in game mode...
