Sony talks about their image processing, and some people think it's BS marketing, but to be honest, I think they are not just selling BS. I think there is more to picture quality than just contrast. I think Sony's handling of gradients, their upscaling capabilities, how the tvs tone map films, everything just comes together and creates depth in the image.
You know what it is with Sony. It's the depth in the image. I bought the X900H years ago, and even for a mid range tv, it still had that image dept. I recently bought the X90L, and again, the image depth is still there.
I still own the 55x900h & believe me it is similar to oled regarding black levels. The only thing Sony deceived us in this model was disabling local dimming when vrr is turned on regarding ps5.
The Bravia 9 is better in every setting. 16:34 the shadow detail to the left of the glass on the Bravia 9 is much better. The black levels and blooming on the Bravia 9 is better too. On some scenes, it’s almost like the Bravia 9 is upscaling the image to 4k while the Qn95d is displaying 1080p. This was evident on the scene with the green leaves. 18:50 this scene also has more blooming on the Qn95d. It could be its movie mode but it’s a noticeable difference compared to cinema on the B9.
When I look at a Sony tv sometimes I am blown away at how skin tones look on the tvs. I know it sounds crazy, but Sony reproduction of skin colors is beautiful. Sony tvs just have a pleasing image that other tvs struggle to capture. Sony LEDs aren't the inkiest when it comes to black levels, and they are not the brightest of the brightest when it comes to highlights, but they strike this balance in between to produce an image with depth and clarity.
When I look at Sony tvs I feel like I can walk right into the scenery. That's the biggest compliment I can give a Sony tv. I feel like I can touch what I am watching.
I don't know about a blowout. The Samsung does seem to have much better shadow detail. I think the Sony is the better TV from what I have seen, but haven't seen either in person and seeing TVs play video on UA-cam looks NOTHING like they do in real life.

4:27 That is like a budget LCD on the left vs a high end OLED on the right. Yes I know it's not an OLED, what I am saying is the contrast difference is astounding. So much if a person saw this and not knowing. They would think that. 6:07 I mean wow, what a difference. 9:23 this is why Vivid on a Sony is almost useful if you want to go all out. To be perfectly honest I only watch in the accurate picture modes. Sometimes very old programs I currently have the Bravia 8 and I am very happy with it. In terms of those two for me I would go with the Samsung. It’s probably cheaper and is better for gaming. Both tvs are stunning in the most accurate modes and there isn’t much difference.
I spend a lot of time taking photos with an iPhone 15 pro max (OLED) and a Nikon z6, and then upload to the iPhone and adjust with the iOS photos app. I notice if I enhance sometimes, the sky blue color looks fake. That’s what I see on almost every sky scene in this demo for the QN95, and the Sony looks natural. I’m viewing this video on a Panasonic Viera plasma, one of the later generations which have excellent contrast and color. Sorry but this plasma and my eye says the Sony wins. I also would like to see when Dolby Vision 4000 nit content is compared to similar content with Samsung’s HDR+.
Hi Brian been awhile. Excellent detail comparison! Was considering switching my A90j 83’’ to the ‘’85 Bravia 9 but not quite ready yet to go back to mini-leds tvs. Perhaps next year. Anyway as always great content. Julio
Do it I find mini leds look better than oled because of the bright punchy image, they get almost as dark as oled with no blooming. I have a a80j oled in my dark bedroom and I enjoy watching my friends Samsung tv much better and it’s one of those low level Samsung tv, not a high end mini led, my Sony a80j is just so dim and dark it’s hardly watchable.
Thank you for just trying to show us how they look ootb ; professional beats filmmaker to my eyes as the sony looked more like qd-oled while the samsung looked more like wrgb oled .
Yes, the QN90D beats the U8N, in my opinion, which you can see here ua-cam.com/video/N-3hQS5CJn0/v-deo.htmlsi=-kRo6l3wyJcEKmhB the QN95D is better than that.
Ever thought about running some lower quality content to see how the TVs handle banding, black crush, near black chrominance overshoot? The dark scene in game of thrones is a good test for this.
Have Happy and great Thanksgiving Brian. During your next live stream I might get it on it. Also since I have the U8N you can ask me questions on it. It's a TV with a real learning curve on all the menu settings that my Vizio never had. Also the dumbest thing Hisense does with their TV's is they don't use 1 simple Serial Number. So the one on the back label is the one that has to be used for the Warranty registration on the about TV menu there is a different serial number. Like how hard it is to use one and only serial number? I forgot to cut it off from the box label. I learned something about Hisense that you probably didn't know by your review when you kept it on playing with the remote for different content. Question should Energy Labels on new TV's be a topic of conversation? I know every Home appliance manufacturer wants to be a sustainable energy Company but how much is too much on that issue when it comes down to one dumb defualt TV setting? On the Quick Start Instruction booklet it isn't listed on it nor is there a main menu setting. It's an important topic on Energy Guide Gold Sticker.
I think both TVs depend on your viewing preferences. I prefer the Samsung cause of Flexibility, I love tuning my TV perfectly & giving it that extra punch Samsung allows.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Ah. Guess I was confused by the comment "I will be getting the 75" for an actual review" since the 55' one seemed to just be a roll thru presets with no comparison to other TVs ... all good.

Thank you, Brian, for your excellent comparisons. Especially on large size tvs. Your let the tvs do the talking, not the commentator is fantastic ( sorry Fomo, you take 50% of the screen on your comparisons, and you give us your conclusions instead of letting us analyze the tvs and make up our mind). In this comparison, I like the Bravia 9 slightly better, but would buy an LG G4 83" and not either of these Mini leda. On a mini led tv the 98" TCL QM851G is my choice, size matters.
My absolute pleasure, my friend . We all have different ways of doing our content. We are all friends as well. I tend to say hi in the intro and then show only the TV'S the rest of the time. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

I think the brighter scenes the Sony does a better job as Samsung often looks washed out in comparison. But in darker scenes, the samsung shows more detail while the Sony is often too dark.
See, when the Samsung can look brighter for example in Movie mode vs Cinema on the B9. First IMO, the B9 looks more accurate, more contrast (by far). But that said, if I wanted more "brightness", I would just use standard picture mode instead. The difference is that I would still have more detail and accuracy and contrast vs the Samsung in any of it's modes. That is what makes the Sony winner in every scenario. Cinema mode on Sony is the 'dimmest' mode, except perhaps Professional. But again what makes the Sony the winner is that it always retains detail, accuracy and contrast. It just dials it up in the other preset modes. The Samsung is only accurate with detail in Filmmaker mode. After that everything is just brightness and detail is lost. So in conclusion if you just want a little more brightness. Let's say almost as bright as Samsung is in Movie mode. You just turn on Standard on the Sony and still get now a brighter image but retaining the contrast and detail. Just because they have similar names in preset. Doesn't mean they are the competing presets, because they are so wildly different. Only the Filmmaker and Professional mode can really be compared as apples vs apples. IMO, the QN95D is only ever good in Filmmaker mode. That is when it has some detail and still some brightness. All other modes are useless. But the Bravia 9 overall wins there too because of accuracy.
You could’ve added Hisense & TCL, for the best mini LCD TVs. The Chinese company has taken over from Samsung to produce better LCD TVs. The competition for Sony is not Samsung but the Chinese companies.
Like I told Fomo on all of his demographics on his viewers It's the same for you. I'm like one of 5 on one hand only that only I care about the smaller size. Going from a 32" to a 43" to a 50" now a 55". I can't get any bigger in my room. 😅 This with the background music at least I'm hearing all of my surround speakers work. There are 4 that work but I decided last week from Caleb's video my RCA Y adapter cables have a fail rate. I have 2 Vizio but different size subs and I also did a speaker swap and I'm still not having speakers not working to produce the sounds that the rate I should hear them bounce off the fronts.
To simplify its brightness over color richness. The Bravia 9 despite is richness I think many times details get lost in a darker frame. QN95D gets my vote in Filmmaker Mode as best overall picture with balance of color and brightness.
Not necessarily as the Bravai 9 will limit its brightness to retain detail and gradients. That said the Samsung seems to be brighter in general . Thank you for watching!
idont get it why ppl pushing about what its corect on tv ? who care ...u can se the Samsung its beter here ..Like TCL ..boost Nits and colors kill price..:)BDW Brian got big pot of money to stop talking about tcl P:)

There are way too many scenes where the B9 is crushing details cause it's too dark.....that's sum aggressive ABL or tone mapping. Here we go again with Sony fan boys riding the Sony brand name wagon. No LCD/LED TV should cost the price of Premium OLEDs....nope
Samsung absolutely getting destroyed and then some. I've known it to be an inaccurate-image tv brand since HDR came out but latest flagship seems to be the worse I've seen with every frame being blown out to smitherines. Go home Samsung, you're drunk.
You always mention that is what manufacturers want, but dude you miss a point here!, manufacturers has to make a TV what I like and NOT what they like. I like punchy and more pronounced colours, I don't give a crap on filmmakers intent or accurate colours so stop telling people how they must watch their tvs
😅😅you clearly missed the point. I show every preset for that very reason! I could care less about filmmakers' intent. There's also not one second in this video where I tell you how to watch. Most of the video is in those punchy presets.
24:00 It's not "superior" in gaming. Having 4 HDMI 2.1 doesn't make it better, lol. Anyone can solve that with a switch and get 5 HDMI 2.1 ports. 144Hz also doesn't make it superior. It makes it better in Hz, but not by much. "superior" means better at everything. Not one or two specific things. The B9 is far better in looks. The B9 is FAR more accurate in game mode and way better in contrast and black level. So what is 'superior' about the QN95D. That is not even true at all and it's you basing it on those two criteria. That is like having a bad TN computer monitor at 500Hz and saying it's better than a 144Hz QD OLED, ha ha. Please refrain from making definitive statements like that. It's subjective and highly dependent on what a person values in their gaming. Now TVs that truly are more 'superior' are the OLEDs, as in the high end ones. I would agree an S95D would be superior. But the QN95D is garbage compared to the B9 again. 144Hz vs 120Hz is negligible. Accuracy, depth, contrast etc matters.
It's superior because of a larger feature set . This isn't debatable. It's has 1440p support . Ultra wide. 4K 144Hz. Triple the gaming presets. It also has motion plus, which will add frames without ficker and input lag . It can also look exactly like the Sony. Also calling a TV like the QN95D garbage shows your comments to be biased by default.
Taking two TVs out of the box and then leaving them in presets without any adjustments is not a genuine comparison at all. You are not showing what either TV is capable of. Furthermore, this doesn't even represent most users anymore- most people will do a basic calibration if they are spending money on flagship TVs. The Samsung looks like utter crap out of the box when in reality it is capable of so much more. These are such lazy comparisons.....
@armylrs2391 whatever you say. I'd like to see you put in the work. Making them look exactly the same by adjusting them is actually dishonest unless you're in the room. This is why half the video is in Filmaker and professional as that is their most accurate presets. As far as what most people do , you're simply speaking for yourself while I've been in these comments of the most people you are referring to for years. Thank you for the lovely comment.
Not sure why you would do a comparison on a TV that is next to impossible to get like the QN95D. Reviewers are always telling us their time is limited so they have to pick and choose what they review if that's the case this seems to be a waste of time seeing as almost no one will ever buy that TV.
I already did the Bravia7 and QN90D. The QN95D is the true flagship and better match. I also don't have 85" QN90D TVs lying around. Thank you for watching.

I haven't seen the 75 or 85 inches panasonic w95a review anywhere. Are they planning to release it next year? Thanks
They are available but many reviewers were given smaller sizes. You will see a newer version at CES
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY ok, thanks.
I would've got the 85" B9, but it just wouldn't fit it on the wall area in my living room. I got the 75" B9 instead.
Awesome! I hope you are loving it. Thank you for watching
I think Bravia 9 is the best lcd tv before arrival of WHVA lcds
Sony was better in my opinion.
Chubby bird demo sealed it. I'm on team Bravia 9!!! Happy Thanksgiving to your family Brian
😅 chubby bird! Happy Thanksgiving my friend
Do you do consultations?
The samsung for the win here brian. The dynamic brightness and colour!!
Excellent comment! Thank you for watching
Thanks👌🏻 could you do the battle of bravia 7 vs 9 🙏🏻
I will try my best! Thank you for watching
Julio!! Always great to see you!
Bravia 9 all day for me. Although the Samsung is brighter and more punchy, it's less impactful purposefully increasing the overall brightness.
Thank you for just trying to show us how they look ootb ; professional beats filmmaker to my eyes as the sony looked more like qd-oled while the samsung looked more like wrgb oled .
Please honest review for bravia 7 vs x90L
The Bravia 7 is a good deal better.
The X90L is full array vs the Bravia 7 being mini led. The Bravia 7 has better image quality overall.
is the qn95d better than hisense u8n? in your opinion
I do run all content. I won't show it due to copyright on youtube. It's simply a risk i won't take. Thank you for watching
100% excellent comment! Thank you
What happened with the Panasonic W95A review?
I did it a month ago my friend
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Ah. Guess I was confused by the comment "I will be getting the 75" for an actual review" since the 55' one seemed to just be a roll thru presets with no comparison to other TVs ... all good.
It will go against the Bravia 7 next week
9:04 like qd-oled versus wrgb .
Bravia 9 looks waaaaay more Realistic ... Is it about settings ?
How does the QN95D compare to the QN90D? Still loving my QN90D.
same tv the only difference the qn95d has the one connection box
@@jean-guydaraiche I don't think the QN95D has the One Connect box
@@Dr.Stasisqn95d don't have one connect box
They include 70w 4.2.2 ch speaker and higher dimming zones and higher brightness and 8 tweeters at the back other than or same
Looks like the QN95D costs over twice as much as my QN90D. I think I’m good.
That's not accurate
Be there or be Square 😂 Bring it on
So Brian’s what picture difference is there between the 90D & 95D? I really don’t see much.
We need a 98” Bravia 9 ASAP! @Brian do you see this happening in 2025? TCL and Hisense has been dominating that arena.
I actually do think there will be one. Just my thoughts.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Fingers crossed. 🍻
I would like to see a demo of the newer SHARP AQUOS tv's. LED and OLED. Let us know when you do . Thanks. Yes, I have an AQUOS tv $2000.00 LCD and 15 years old.
I'll definitely cover them when I see them at CES . Stay tuned and thank you for watching
Japanese flagship always on top🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
25:29 , just look at the clarity of the animal's fur on the bravia 9.
Does any of this matter if you are just watching ota sports and ota network tv? Sony has an ATSC 3.0 tuner.
Cant wait for this one 😊
I can see the difference 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
where can you buy the qn95d?
Value Electronics
Only certain retailers have it. VALUE ELECTRONICS and maybe ABT. Hit up Value Electronics they ship nationwide free. 914 723 3344 ask for Robert or Wendy.
I think the brighter scenes the Sony does a better job as Samsung often looks washed out in comparison. But in darker scenes, the samsung shows more detail while the Sony is often too dark.
Excellent comment and anylsis! Thank you for watching
This with the background music at least I'm hearing all of my surround speakers work.
Excellent comment and anylsis
samsung qn95d win
The pic, sony by far. The google os is the issue. Samsung os is way more reliable and fast. Sony is slow and kinda flaky. Have 3 of each.
That SONY looks to be an OLED Killer 😮
LOL!
😂😅😅
🤣🤣🤣 Massive REACH!!!
@@valvaholic6800 sony pony copium
Except it isn’t and every reviewer agrees
So I assumed Samsung has higher brightness in nit than Sony?
Not necessarily as the Bravai 9 will limit its brightness to retain detail and gradients. That said the Samsung seems to be brighter in general . Thank you for watching!
idont get it why ppl pushing about what its corect on tv ? who care ...u can se the Samsung its beter here ..Like TCL ..boost Nits and colors kill price..:)BDW Brian got big pot of money to stop talking about tcl P:)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I had TCL on for an interview. I also cover them when I'm in stores that have them.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Fomo reveald us that u have SONY pilow ..I know its hard to admit TCL its best ..:) my tcl c855k its beter then bravia 9..looks beter to me and 300% cheaper
@Pedjatorque 😅😅😅whatever you say my friend
There are way too many scenes where the B9 is crushing details cause it's too dark.....that's sum aggressive ABL or tone mapping.
Here we go again with Sony fan boys riding the Sony brand name wagon.
No LCD/LED TV should cost the price of Premium OLEDs....nope
This video is titled incorrectly: Should be called "The best Mini-Led vs. another blown-out Samsung".
😅😅😅😅
💪💚🪐🧬🦾🏁
Not sure why you would do a comparison on a TV that is next to impossible to get like the QN95D. Reviewers are always telling us their time is limited so they have to pick and choose what they review if that's the case this seems to be a waste of time seeing as almost no one will ever buy that TV.
Simply because it's the Bravia 9's true match. I also don't have TV'S just laying around at 85". Thanks for watching
Go Vs Sony x95L 🤔
?
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY QN 950d Vs Sony x95L Vs Sony bravia 9
@adam-adam05 they are both better than the X95L in my opinion. The X95L will look closer to the Bravia 9.
Should have done the QN90D vs Bravia 9 instead of the QN95D....the QN95D is too expensive and most can afford the QN90D more...
I already did the Bravia7 and QN90D. The QN95D is the true flagship and better match. I also don't have 85" QN90D TVs lying around. Thank you for watching.
Let’s be honest: the Samsung looks like dogshit 💩 compared to the Sony 😅
In a tv store
@@valvaholic6800 very perceptive
Even on the bigger TV's you do it right. B the Installer videos are slightly annoying. I watch some of them but to me his channel is sort of useless only because is videos are all geared for his niche home theater clients.
When you go to Best Buy the expensive kiosk displays aren't set up to compare brands against each other.
Seeing the A95L, the Bravia 9 in person together you get why all of Sony TV's are the Best of Best even on the A90, 7 & 8 models.
