Your review is spot on. I really like the Zoom X midsole on everything except technical, rocky trails. The midsole while being so comfortable and fun to run in, is just to soft for the rocks. I even use it for my shorter road runs.
Great review, I agree with just about everything you mentioned. I find this shoe super comfortable and mainly use it on groomed trails & gravel. I don't think I trust myself to run in these shoes on anything remotely technical. Unfortunately I have a history of rolling my ankles and this shoe does have a high stack, as you mentioned.
Great feedback and I appreciate you sharing! I have a history of rolling my ankle too (usually my right ankle) which usually doesn't stop me from running but just makes things uncomfortable for a day or two. Luckily, I didn't roll my ankle in these shoes even on the technical bits.
Awesome scenery Chad. The shoe sounds ok and thanks for your excellent review though the price I think is too high so one to wait for when it gets discounted. Ian 🇬🇧
Totally! In my next video dropping Monday you'll see more parts of this beautiful area as I review the Craft Pure Trail X. I'll tell you right now that between these two shoes, I would prefer the Zegama 2. As always, thanks for checking out the video!
As a guy getting into trail runs at 31 after almost a decade of the military wearing down on my knees, these shoes have been delicious, I agree with all of your points, super comfortable, a little too high, not a fast shoe at all but man, they feel so good on the trail. Only thing I will say and I think it’s due to my inexperience, as a newer trail runner the shoe does feel like an ankle roller, I do believe that’s due to my lack of time on the rocks though however with a shoe on the trail that’s this tall, you need to be used to that kind of stack out in the mountains. Any recommendations for a lighter partner shoe to the Zegama? I could greatly appreciate it!
I've really enjoyed the Topo MTN Racer 3. 33mm stack in the heel with a 5 mm drop. It's a lightweight shoe. That's a lot of fun to run in and offers some good width in the toe box. This is the shoe that I used for my last 100 miler. Thanks for dropping a comment and for watching the video!
I’m really debating between this and the Topo mountain racer. I’m in the springs so lots of techy trails around here… thinking probably the Topo what do you think
The Zagama 2 offers a little more underfoot protection, but I personally would go with the Topo MTN Racer 3. I found the racer 3 to be a little more stable underfoot, offers a less complicated upper, and a more fun overall experience.

Thank You for nice review! Seems like this shoe is good suited for winter running under cold temperatures too
It did well although I also had good socks on.

And if you haven't seen my MTN Racer 3 review video already, here it is: ua-cam.com/video/IYfpKbL9GV8/v-deo.html
Nope. No responsiveness. The Trabuco Max shits on this, don t even wanna think about the Hoka Tecton…
I haven't tried the Trabuco Max yet although I've heard good things about it. I really enjoyed the Hoka Tecton X 3 but it's also expensive. Cheers!
Trabuco Max 😂😂😂 is stiff boats and has no rebound very disappointment for me
