One of the best hoop shoes I've ever owned. Picked up this same color-way which is actually pretty cool. As an aging hoop lover (52yrs old), I was looking for a sneaker to help preserve my knees for the last few years of my pick-up game career. I will say they ride a bit high off the ground but the trade-off is an amazing composition of cushioning and support! My one gripe is the ankle area digs in a bit but they've softened up after a couple of weeks. This is a great shoe and I hope Nike keeps these models coming!
I really like the idea behind what you are doing, but you are missing the vital piece of someone playing in them. I've played in a LOT of basketball shoes. I'm a bigger, older guy, and the GT Jump 2 has the most unique underfoot feel I have ever played in. The bounce or cushion or whatever you want to call it is phenomenal. It's distinctly different. Lebrons are comfortable. These are next level.
I’m really not even a sneaker guy at all (I have one pair of Hokas and that’s it lol) but for whatever reason, I find these videos so dang interesting, man. Something about all of the components and little bits of tech built into shoes like this is just really cool to learn about. I’ve been following this channel for a while because of the boot content, and including sneakers into the tests is a great addition. Love this stuff.
These videos have been great at helping me not be a sneakerhead / kick my shoe addiction bc they are showing me just how little you get for your money material wise on these types of shoes.
@@myhandlewastakenandIgaveup alright, so if you had to sum up in a few words what makes you like sneakers that much, what would you say? To me, they’re really not on my mind at all, but I find it interesting when people have like 50 pairs and know all about the history and all that. Just trying to understand the mindset of a real sneaker head
@@STSGuitar16 as a preface I wouldn't call myself a sneakerhead per se (but I do have ?25? Pairs of shoes). The reason for that abstention is I am super cheap and simply won't pay more than $75 for a pair ever. All of that aside the appeal is the same as jackets for me. I have very basic wardrobe which consists of jeans and (mostly) black non screen printed t shirts. Shoes (and jackets) are ways for me to accessorize and change it up a little bit every few days in a low effort way. There is a next level appreciation which true sneakerheads are a part of which also includes a community and culture as well as swap meets. I find true sneakerhead culture fascinating myself bc for me they (shoes) are simply ways to add color to wardrobe which has the innate diversity of a mayo and wonderbread sandwich.
@@myhandlewastakenandIgaveup I gotcha. I think I’ve got like five pairs of shoes, so even 25 sounds wild to me lol. It makes sense for your situation, though. I mean, I own 14 guitars so I’m sure you’d find that wild as well lol. I do consider myself a huge guitar nerd (I can ramble on about guitars, guitar pedals, amps, and gear in general for hours and hours) and there’s also a really great community surrounding that and the nerd-dom. Would like to see you review safety shoes around $150. Where I work we can wear the sneaker style ones and they are great for a few months then start to breakdown and you're waiting until the next time you can get the company to pay for new ones.
Yessss!!!! I was going to ask that you guys cut open this shoe when I saw the Lebrons. I had the GT Jump 1 and I liked them, then I was torn between the GT Jump 2 and the Jordan 38. Went with the Jordan 38 with no regrets. Maybe that may be a shoe to do a review on…🤔
@@Layzie2500 I haven’t had them tear but I do know what you’re talking about. So here’s my logic when I bought them: I live in Orlando and we have plenty of Nike outlets. Since I only play ball in them, I found a refurbished pair for $80. I had a discount code so after taxes, they came out to $65ish. Plus, I take advantage of Nike’s two year warranty. I bought my first pair of GT Jumps for $80 a while back. The Zoom Air unit popped. Submitted a warranty claim through Nike and got a voucher for $180 (retail). So I figured, I would take my chances and if anything happens before the two year warranty period is over, I’ll submit a claim like I did with the GT Jumps.
The fake looking bubble on the ankle would protect your ankles from general impact or when you’re beating people at basketball and all they can do is foul and try to hurt you.
@RoseAnvil Can you make a video about Lace lab shoe laces. I recently purchased a pair of laces. The company claims that the laces I purchased are made of luxury leather. When I took them of the bag, the laces smelled like plastic not real leather.
I’d love to see y’all review a pair Opie way sneakers, I’d love to see how high quality they actually are. Plus it’s pretty rare to find America made sneakers
I’ve got a pair of the black & white ones. I love these shoes, it took care of my heel pain, and I could focus on my layups more. I’m a rugged finisher and love blocking shots/playing defense. So these are staying in my rotation. Also I get a lot of compliments on them so I’m thinking of scooping up more for off court wearing also.
I own Nike React Ianga(this is a boot style so its okay), and Nike Odyssey React Flyknit 2(very lightweight but terrible if you walk the entire day in them, so basically a short distance running shoe) which are soft react foam. I also own Pegasus 4 trail goretex and Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38, which are using a firmer React foam.(Better for standing and long distance walking). I love react foam I think you should do more videos on shoes that use React foam
This was a clickbait title for me. The thumbnail suggested that they cut every corner in making these but upon actually watching the video it seems like you liked it. Nothin' but love for this presenter, but where'd the main guy go?
I was really enthused to try a pair on because (call me crazy), I want to do this crazy thing called "playing basketball" in "basketball" shoes. the bounce and shock absorption was great, but the toe box was like an effing b width shoe, legit reverse duckfoot bunion situation. the search continues.
@@sethblack8828I’d argue any UA-camr trying new formats or hosts would like feedback on if it’s enjoyed or not by their core audience. At least their comment is fair feedback, your is childish.
nike didn't go overboard when it comes to actual tech. the only real problem on these was midsole height. if these were a tad bit lower then every other well-cushioned shoe would have been redundant. react stack should have been lower and dual giant zoom pods (lateral and medial) should be replaced with a single medial zoom pod that's wider but also lower. basically, the gt hustle on steroids, which it should be.
I returned my pair…to me they felt like they collapse and made me unstable like I might get a knee injury….definitely too much tech and the voids make them unsupportive at high speed and when jumping
Ive tried to give your BBall shoe videos a chance, but after watching the deep dives FootDoctor Zack goes into. This new guy seems to just be saying some buzzwords. You need some sort of grip test of these shoes.
