- Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts counseling for all India seats, both for UG and PG medical courses. The rules are complicated and it is important to understand so that you don't commit a mistake. In this video, I have explained step-by-step what happens in MCC all India counseling.

However, there were some changes introduced in 2023.
1. Upgradation allowed in R3.
2. College level stray round is abolished. So, even stray round counseling for deemed universities was conducted by MCC.

Every state has different rules.
If you are from TN, its even worse. They don't publish any rules. So, its difficult to publish such videos with clarity for TN state counseling.

at 16:00 condition, what about a case, when in AIQ-R1 you don't get a seat, AIQ-R2 you get a seat, however in state, the R1 counseling has not started still or results not announced. According to the video, it says you are completely ineligible for further rounds including State quota counseling. This means when state-counseling R1 results come and you get allotted, does this seat become invalid ? How do you deal with such situations
It does not matter when your state R1 happens. Once MCC R2 is done and you have joined the seat, you become ineligible for any further counseling. Counseling in some states had been delayed in the past due to various reasons but it did not affect MCC going ahead.

I have one question - If a student got seat in 1st round and still opted for upgradation - and if he gets the upgradations to another college - will he still have option to retain the seat allotted in 1st round or it is a must for him/her to accept the upgraded seat ??

Once seat is allotted to you in round 2, your round 1 seat is taken and given to someone else already. You won't have the option to retain it.
But, I just can't understand why should we even get into such situation. Why fill choices which are not better than your present college?

As regards question 2, I believe TN med selection considers mgmt seat in pvt colleges a different category as such and doesn't allow upgrade to a govt seat, whereas here at MCC, it seems one can move across categories, a welcome thing, indeed! Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am an NRI but applied under Indian category. If I score low mark and to get a seat, I may change from Indian (UR) to NRI. My question is, can I continue in AIQ MCC as Indian and in state counseling as NRI?
Yes, you can. But, please check the state in which you are planning to apply.

I have already explained in the video. It is called EXIT with FORFEITURE.
1. You will lose the security deposit
2. You cannot retain Round 1 allotted college
3. If you want to participate in the mop up round, you need register again with payment.
Sir, Good day. My clarifications refer to MCC notification dated 6th Aug 2024, Indian to NRI conversion, MCC notification Page 2, Annexure-I, point 3 &4 stated as
3. I am well aware of the fact that once my category is converted from Indian to NRI in any of the Rounds of Counselling for NEET-UG, 2024, I will be treated as NRI for the remaining rounds as well.
4. Also, I know that if my category is converted from Indian to NRI, I will not be able to avail the benefit under Muslim Minority quota/Jain Minority Quota or any other Quota.
As per point 4, once converted as NRI, Indians are no longer eligible for any other quota means, especially the General Management Quota. I would appreciate it if you could help us provide your opinion, sir. Thanks
Here, they are referring to reservation like OBC-NCL, SC, ST, Muslim minority, Christian minority or Jain minority. Once you choose to be an NRI/ NRI sponsored candidate, you won't be eligible for any of these reservations.
However, you will be eligible for all general category seats. Management quota (deemed/ paid quota) is also considered as a general category seat only. It's open for everyone.

Look for deemed universities. Budget will be 1 Crore+

Two Questions,
1) Do we require to pay the first year fee again to the college allotted in round 2 through up gradation option. (Or time will be given till the college joined through R1 refunds the fee) ?
2) If answer to the above is Yes, does it mean we need to keep fee for 2 years ready, if we opt for up-gradation option. Please advise.
1. Yes, you have to pay the R2 college irrespective of when the R1 college refunds the money to you.
2. Ideally, you should be prepared to have 2 times the fees for a period of about 10-15 days.
If you are lucky, some colleges may refund immediately. But, be prepared for the worst.

While joining the college, during admission process, you will be given the option. College will explain.
How to apply for eligibility certificate if i want to study under andhra govt.? Where should i apply for it? Should i apply it under TN govt(my native) or under AP govt.? Please sir do give us more info about it. If possible please make a video on it.

It will be returned to you after all the admissions are over.
You have to pay the full fees to the college.

I have another doubt if get alloted seat in keam in second round and later i get alloted in TN counseling as well will i loose my deposit amount if i opt kerala seat first.
If you join a seat allotted in round 2, you may not be allowed to resign. So, please check the rules of Kerala.
There is no security deposit in kerala counseling. I am asking whether tamil nadu mgmt security deposit will be refunded or not if i get and join kerala seat and at the same time when i am alloted in TN counseling .

In the college, during your admission process.
In stray round in mcc for deemed colleges, you have mentioned 1:10x. Is 10x based on ranking?
Yes, eligible candidates according to the ranking. However, MCC generally include every eligible candidate. I don't think they restrict to 10x.

we are NRI but my ward studied in Karnataka for 11th and 12th , we are opting for deemed university under general quota as top priority desired by us , at the same time can we fill choice under NRI quota after general quota in the option list in Round -1 .
Yes, you can do that.

There is no withdraw option. Don't fill choices in the upcoming rounds.
Hi Sir, if we give willingness to upgrade in round 1 and in round if we get a college then:
can we make the choice between round 1 and round 2 allotted colleges? or we have to join the round 2 allotted college only?
You are participating in Round 2 to move to a better college. Once seat is allotted, why do you want to go back to R1 college? I don't understand. Choice filling has to be logical.
To answer your question, once R2 seat is allotted, your R1 seat is cancelled and allotted to some other candidate. Your choice is only to decide whether to join R2 seat or not.

What if I only do State counseling for States like WB, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu.......then what are the rules and how will the counseling done?
Every state has different rules. You need to go through their prospectus.
Sir, if we go directly to round 2 all India counselling and if we get seat allotted in round 2 can we still go to state counselling. My situation is Our son might get seat in category B in Andhra. Or should we stick to either deemed or state category B
If you join deemed university, you cannot quit after round 2. Its already explained in the video.
Sir, in Tamilnadu selection committee, the certificate verification date is 27th and 28th at Chennai. On the same day KEA certificate verification for St.Johns at Bangalore will be going on. How is it possible to attended for those who have applied under minority category in both the states?Who are supposed to go for the verification? Are all the applicants supposed to go? Or is it only the alloted students? Is admission sure for those who appear for certificate verification?
There is no certificate verification in TN. Once seat is allotted, you have to go to the allotted college and certificates will be verified at the time of admission. See the latest schedule.

You can fill as many colleges as you like. No limit.
MCC does not conduct in-person counseling; its only online.
Sir in the MCC guidelines , they make a distinction between 'fees' and 'security deposit'. The mention that one stands to lose the 'fees' if after round 2 one does not join. Does this mean that one loses only the registration fees or also the security deposit ( for deemed university case0_ thanks
Registration fees is non-refundable. So, whether you get a seat or not, you will not get it back.
Security deposit is refundable provided you follow the procedure. If seat is allotted to you in round 2 and if you don't join, you will lose the security deposit.

Hlo Sir , my sister has got 250 marks & is eligible for deemed universities and nri lapsed seats only ,if in deemed universities seat remains vaccant, will the college make the fee negotiable. like in Meenakshi and sathya sai medical college, which had huge vaccancies last year.

Always go with better colleges at the top of your list. Don't prepare the list based on your score.

As per MCC new rule, if you are holding a seat after Round 2, you may not be allowed to participate in the counseling after Round 2. Please check your state counseling procedure.
Sir, If I get seat in Deemed college in first round and if I have joined it and in the state first round councilling if I get 11 lakh seat then can I join the state alloted seat? If yes then what is the procedure...? will the Deemed college return me the original documents...? and the fees paid that institution...? Please clear my doubts... thank you.
Yes, you can resign the college before the start of MCC Round 2 or the deadline that will be given by MCC. The college will return the documents; refund may take about one to two weeks. There may be some deduction depending on the college.

1. You can register for both government colleges and deemed universities
2. The registration fees is 5000 and security deposit is 2 lacs. You need to pay 2.05 lacs at the time of registration.

Yes, you must surrender the original documents to the college. You can get a bonafide from the college. You can use the bonafide and photocopy of the certificates during certificate verification.

I already have given the preferred list for AP.
There are no good or bad colleges. You have to check which college is more suitable to you.

No. But, why should you fill choices in round 2 if you want to stay with your round 1 college? Think and approach counseling.

You should not join the college allotted in MCC R2, if you want to try state counseling. You have to forego your security deposit also.

TN rules are typically unclear. They don't follow the rules given in the prospectus. So, I don't remember doing any videos for TN. Let me check.

MCC will publish the list on its web site.

Yes, you can exit with forefeiture if you have not joined the seat allotted in MCC Round 2. If you have joined, you cannot exit.

Sir if the I didn't fall under 1:10 list by MCC in stray round, but the seats r still vacant in college, can I get a seat
If your name is not in the list, you are not eligible. Normally, MCC extends the list beyond 1:10. But, if your name is not in the list, don't take admission. You will end up in trouble.

If you have joined the BDS seat, you are not eligible for mop up round

MCC all India counseling round 1 will happen first.
The recommended sequence is: AIQ R1 > State R1 > AIQ R2 > State R2 ...
But, sometimes, this sequence may not be followed due to many reasons.

If you have joined a college in Round 1, you are allowed to resign (quit) the college before the start of Round 2. Once round 2 starts, no one will be allowed to resign (quit) from the college.

Lets say you have joined a college in round 1. Are you happy with the college? Or, do you want to move to a better college in round 2? If you are interested to move a better college in R2, that is called "willing to upgrade".

@@sharanadhithiya8041 MCC Round 1 will happen first. For your score, it is safe to join deemed universities.
There is no guarantee that CENTAC cutoff will be less than 170. If it closes above your score, then you will be in trouble.
If you join deemed university, you can try only CENTAC round 1. When CENTAC round 2 starts, you won't be able to come out of MCC counseling.

As of now, OCIs will be treated at par with NRI category. But, I believe there is a Court case pending in this issue. So, please check the prospectus once it is released.
