Yeah it was awesome to be involved in that, and awesome to catch a few too. Hopefully many kids, beginners and local anglers have had some fun targeting them
Fun video! I’m usually think of Albert Park as the place for F1 race cars speeding around. Never would have believed there were such quality fish to be found there!
Even as an anti government person, I have to admit, that is an awesome program. Good on you Aussies for having a society that you can appreciate and respect your natural resources in such a manner 🫡.
Hi Allan, I do a lot of trolling for trout on my Hobie PA14 mostly at Eildon, Devilbend and Eucumbene. When running two rods you need to keep pedaling and keep that forward momentum when you hook up, will stop you taggling up in the second line. Often resulting in double hookups (heaps of fun from a yak). Swap the trebles out on the doubble clutch's and bibbed minnow's to single owners hooks, less weed fouling, better hookup and quicker release's.
Good they went into local lakes in Melbs. But would they have been better released into regional areas to promote travel into those areas? I sense the Goulburn River may have missed out this year due to Metro lake stockings.
They were stocked in the regional lakes the following week as part of the Eildon festival including stretches along the Goulburn. Also hundreds of different regional lakes get stockies most school holidays
Yes but the quality was well down in stretch around Thornton on the Goulburn, heaps of anglers went home fishless or with small skinny fish. Genuine stonkers (10lb+) were few and far between compared to previous years@@fishingmad
It all depends on the waterway, eg Albert Park Lake is a storm water drain runoff and the water clarity is not great or safe for eating. I think there are some website that report the water quality.
I try and preserve the batteries most of the time, otherwise you need to take 15+ batteries or external power which can be a pain. So often wait for the action to start. Plus this saves heaps on edition times and storage.
2500, 3000 and 4000 and they have all been pretty good, I haven't had any issues. I did have a SG6 that had an issue which was replaced. Many good reels around that price point these days too
That's a great question, much of the water in Albert Park is run off from storm water so people would need to be careful eating anything from Albert Park. Personally I don't
Great content, easy to watch. Number 1 fishing show in my books.
Thank you so much !! Really glad your enjoying the content
Wow great job realising them fish into the wild the public will have heeps of fun.

Awesome. Just let my keen young nephews in Sunbury know. Thank you
Awesome !! Spavin gets a few
I hope that people catch and release so the joy of catching a large trout can be enjoyed by many.

Unfortunately our Labor socialist government is considering a new law to ban all fishing in metro dams and lakes throughout Victoria
Hi Alan, that's a fantastic thing 😃😃🎉🎉🎉

Trouble is, just to drive to the Goulburn and back is prohibiting in expence
Thanks for sharing this.
Any idea if the fish from these suburban lakes are good to cook? Is the water quality Ok?
It all depends on the waterway, eg Albert Park Lake is a storm water drain runoff and the water clarity is not great or safe for eating. I think there are some website that report the water quality.

@@fishingmad No worries! Do you know any good snapper bait?
Cant go past squid, pilchard, silver whiting and salmon. Great bait options for snapper.
@@fishingmad I’m watching your whiting video right now!👍
where do you recommend to fish near the cbd?
Is it legal to keep if we catch one?
Yes 100%, i helped stock them in there so i release them
Metro Melbourne and rainbow trout. Im from Sydney so where is the fresh water area that doesn’t connect to salt water??
Hey Alan how to you attach the GoPro to your hat?
Berley pro action Hat
@@fishingmad thanks man
How do you manage to capture hook ups on the GoPro without leaving them running the entire time?
I try and preserve the batteries most of the time, otherwise you need to take 15+ batteries or external power which can be a pain. So often wait for the action to start. Plus this saves heaps on edition times and storage.
Hey mate, what address is the roxburgh park lake?
Hi alan do u still have the savage gear s8 reel?
Yeah I still have a few SG8 reels, I mainly use them when targeting whiting and pinkies
@@fishingmad which models are they and how do they perform one year on?
2500, 3000 and 4000 and they have all been pretty good, I haven't had any issues. I did have a SG6 that had an issue which was replaced. Many good reels around that price point these days too
