Hey. The little black bar locking mechanism on the part the connects the motherboard to the rest of the controller snapped off. Is there anything I can do about this? Am I able to put it back on or is it over for me?
(How i fixed mine)both joysticks started drifting on day 3, brand new. One was drifting up,the other down, theyre the same piece flipped over so must be a bad batch of joysticks. I'm having tremendous problems getting the screw at 29:29, my trigger is oriented so it's OVER the screw, making it impossible to reach with either of the screwdrivers included in the kit.
I can tell that I was struggling with that also. You will have to go in at an angle and try not to strip the little screw out. The shaft of the driver is too big to clear the trigger switch. I don't know if you have the same driver I do but, if you do it will come out. If it's different you made to try and find a driver with a longer thinner shaft. I wish you the best of luck!

That's called stick drift, and it's why I came to this video to find it. I did what another comment suggested and it worked fine (took like 5 minutes). Just follow what he does to take out the battery, the top black lid, and the top of the joystick. Take some "3-in-1 oil" (I used the WD40 brand of it) and drop 2-3 drops right on the black nub where the joystick was and wait for it to drip into the controller. Then, twist the joystick top back on, put the black plate back on, and turn it on. Or another type of brush (preferably with longer bristles and soft). You likely got food or a drink spilled there, or some other debris. Ensure you remove the battery first!
You fix my Oculus controller
Didn’t work, had to buy a new controller for 129.99. Wow, thanks man.
Sorry to hear that! At least you tried.
Didnt work at all controller busted. Have fun.
A chip of my thumbstick broke off it’s been very annoying
Whole thing broke off for the original for me, that's why I replaced it. That and the stick drift.
Did this work
Yes and have had no problems with it.
Sweet I ordered a set of replacements yesterday should be fixed today
EDIT: dawg they work so well I didn’t know vr could feel this good thanks for the tips
I got a replacement kit off Amazon but it seems that the two screws that are slanted at the front of the controller are in too tight and I can’t get them out. How would I loosen them enough to be able to get them out
@@luisclark3693 I do not recall any of the screws being very tight. However, some of them can be a bit tricky getting out because of the ring around the controller. Making it difficult to get the screwdriver on the screws. If you can tell me at what time in the video I removed the screws you are talking about I might be able to give you more advice. Good luck to you.
@@metamechanic9369 I see his issue, at 10:40
But for me, my screwdriver is just far too large. Just annoying design, is all.
Mine is not turning on with new battery
Try another new battery and also make sure the battery is in the correct way. Wish you the best of luck!
@@metamechanic9369 the battery gets pretty warm is there a way to trouble shoot this to find out if there's a short?
@@LubaLuba1 That definitely sounds like the controller has an internal short if the battery is getting warm and the controller wont power on. I would suggest removing the battery and getting a new controller.
@@metamechanic9369 do you know where I can get one inexpensively or repair
This did not help whatsoever. ended up destroying my goddamn controller because of you
thats your OWN FAULT!
Mine won’t go in reverse after replacing
Hello, the best advice I can give is to start over from the beginning and see where you made the mistake. I wish you the best of luck!
