    Hey Zoey,
    I was you a few months ago.
    I consider myself like a very good independant worker. I hate being supervised or micromanaged. I like to have my own space and freedom. In october 2021, I got let go of my then « dream job » and frankly I was happy. I was no longer happy there and I felt stressed all the time. From there, I decided to offer my own services. I got another contract job on the side. It was liberating while fucking stressful. I was making WAY less. I couldn’t afford going to restaurants or anything like that. I believed free time is all I needed, but financial insecurity is a real thing. I didn’t get into debt but some time after the 7 month mark I was like fuck it. I am losing my mind. I went against what my ego told me and I got a job. I was scared Id have to live the same stress and low self-esteem from my previous job. I am so happy now. I make 60k working 3 days a week without relying on my business revenue. I found something that works for me and I am so happy.
    Don’t feel like a failure if you end up working corporate. It’s okay to want stability. Once you do, work on your hobbies and interests an prepare for your next move. I have a feeling you’re stuck in your business venture and you end up resenting it because of the lack of financial security.
    I wish you all the best Zoey !

      I love that you shared your experience. I recently went back to work corporate after supporting myself solely on offering illustration services online but the financial instability didn’t really bother me. As long as I made enough for rent and food, I was content. What got to me what that it was super isolating (which I thought was fine because I’m an introvert) but it wasn’t good for my depression. I finally decided that for my current mental state, I needed an environment with teamwork, being able to go to an office and LEAVE MY WORK THERE at the end of the day. I’ll go back to working for myself full time when I am in a better place mentally and can handle the realities of working alone (I love how bluntly Zoe’s bf put it). All that to say, I totally relate with you, and with Zoe xx

    “Just because something is a good deal, doesn’t mean it’s not a lot of money.”
    Absolutely love this concept and I think it’s something a lot of people can learn from esp when social media promotes this idea that we need “this” and “that”💯 I’ve also been trying to build up my savings and not overspending now that I make more money, but more recently I’ve found myself splurging on clothes or other unnecessary items because it’s on “sale.” I’ll definitely be keeping this in my mind whenever I think of buying something I don’t need for the next month. Great video as always!💖

    • @SH-ly1uy
      @SH-ly1uy 2 роки тому +1

      That does not appear to make a lot of sense unless your expenses are spread out evenly or you budget by day (which is madness)

    • @chloewileman6697
      @chloewileman6697 2 роки тому +1

      @@SH-ly1uy I don't mean you split your budget into 30 equal amounts and spend that amount daily. I mean you set yourself a target for each category for the month and then track your transactions daily to see how much you have left in each category. That way if I see I have spent more than 50% of my eating out budget before the middle of the month I know I need to slow down. Or if I have some additional cash in my grocery budget towards the end of the month I can treat my self to my favourite more expensive food or allocate that money to treating myself in some other way.

    • @chloewileman6697
      @chloewileman6697 2 роки тому +2

      @@ZoePritchard I also tried apps but they never stuck either. I have made a simple excel spreadsheet and I just take 5 min at the end of each day to fill in the one or two transactions for the day. I am happy to share it if you would like?

    Hi Zoe, I loved today's video, as I enjoy them all. But I was wondering if you are concerned about the rising costs that are happening in all areas of life (rent increases, food price increases, gas increases, etc.) across the world? I never hear other influencers mention it, especially those who live in extreme high cost areas like New York, California, etc. What are your thoughts on that? Thank you!

    Even if you don’t go into specifics for your personal well-being, I would love to know (in general) what your KOHO card is used for. I was under the impression that was for your total monthly spending minus rent/parking, utilities, therapy, and groceries. does it serve a different purpose now?

  • @kharinapineda7504
    @kharinapineda7504 2 роки тому +7

    As always, I love your videos! Wasn’t the point of the koho card so that you stick to more of a budget and not spend on your other cards instead of that card just being being guilt free spending! Obviously, you can do whatever you want, just a genuine question!

    These videos are soo soo helpful and healing for me. I am still working through extreme money anxiety. This year I was able to get a full time job (where I live it’s been hard for soo many people) so I’m trying to celebrate my wins instead of judging myself and comparing myself to people who have more wealth and independence( during the pandemic I moved back home which has been hard for me to accept). But my main goal really is to see the balance of having fun and reaching some key goals. Like last week I went horseback riding which has been a big dream of mine and it made me realize how even if I don’t make as much as some people I can still find ways to carve out fun so I can enjoy my life instead of always looking at my budget sheets and over stressing on bills. Such a nice video! Lol honestly I usually watch these during my midweek and weekly resets because it’s just nice and calming and takes the stress away from planning 😂

    I'm all about finance and that's what my majority focus on other than maintaining my health naturally. I also have a creativity side to as well where I love to work on things that bring me joy. (Cutting costs) and of course when you sell the things you no longer need or, find apps that pay, give you discounts, cashback where you can invest, save and earn. (This is what I do on a daily) I'm an app beta tester Meaning I get to try out new apps that pay money, help with finance and get you the rewards to save you a lot in the end. As a content creator you should look into beta testing you will be great! Wishing you all the best hon I love your ideas and sharing your journey with us your voice is a fresh breath of air 💯

    The unfortunate thing is you can't just easily jump back to the corporate world after you've been away for awhile. Especially when you haven't been able to establish long stints of at least 3 years at prior companies. You'll be competing against people who have demonstrated a solid track record of being able to survive the corporate world and most importantly get promoted. Once you choose the entrepreneurial route, you're pretty much locked in unless you get your MBA and rejoin after that.
