Hi team! 💜 Hope you enjoyed the flip through 😄 As said, using this journal has been some of the most fun I've had journaling and I'm looking forward to even more next year 💪 People were curious about the lil book covers I used in my journal, and we have a video on the channel about how I make those if you want some for yourself 👌 ua-cam.com/video/VuPHot9wSvU/v-deo.html
STEVE is an acroymn for Still The Evil Villian in the End. It's when you guess who will be the bad guy early in the book, then find out you were right by the end of the book
i just thought about the song that goes like "just me and you, and you and me and your friend steve (doot dododoo dododo Steve)" soo maybe a third wheel situation? 😂
Everyone. Every single person. Life is too short and there are too many books for you to keep reading a book you do not like. There is no shame in not finishing a book. Doesn't matter why you aren't enjoying it. Leave it behind (unless it's an assignment. Do your homework)
but... but... what if it gets better? 😅 My brain knows this, but my heart wants to give almost every book a second chance... and a third... or, well, a new chance for every page!
I get this so much, but if I notice that a book in particular is slowing down my reading, I'll just put it down and come back to it (sometimes even years later haha) @@Blue_Caribou
@@shreya...007 I'll do that too, especially for longer books, it's just an issue for me when (e.g. this month) it's my book club book causing the issue... I haven't read more than 100 pages this month so far because I can't put this book off but I just... don't want to read it!
Lovely reading journal. I saw someone this week that did a map at the beginning and they made it connect to their new one for next year. She put one above the other and the map continued. You are talented.
@JashiiCorrin I had a thought when you were talking about your 2024 Book Bingos, and the fact that the paper does not stay put. Photo corners, whether bought or made, might be helpful for that. put them at the bottom and slip the flip page corners into them to keep them down and in place when turning the page.
I went and got the map! Thank you for sharing it. I plan to color mine in as 2025 progresses and I come across those tropes or situations. :) Makes it more fun.
I LOVE the zebra markon! Yes! They fixed the highlighter issue! I don’t really use the mild liners in my journal either, BUT they are great for highlighting my Bible or textbooks. No bleed through or ghosting (at least with muted pastels). So, for that, I’m hooked. My regret for purchase? I’d say the all in one packages of washi tapes, the ones with all the holiday themes or full school themes in one box.
Your list of books you'd like to read are insanely in line with what I've added to my list this year or read in the past 2 years. I heavily recommend four thousand weeks and The Good Ancestor
You can add Wicked to the list of things that are an adaption, its got a 4 book series. Heads up the book, the musical, and the movie are VERY DIFFERENT from one another, in the best worst way
I absolutely love your reading journal! I wish I had more time to participate in reading challenges like what you documented in here! They sound like so much fun!
I've been bullet journaling for a year now and I LOVE IT! I'm considering adding a reading journal to my line up this year and this video is really making me want to 😂 Binge watching bullet journal channels is so much fun and I can't wait to absorb even more great ideas 😂😂💛
So many creative ideas, I love it!! I've just recently discovered your channel and am bingewatching all your videos right now, haha.... 😅🧡Thank you for all the effort you put in your videos to give us great value and inspiration!! 😍
The book matrix has been great for me this year. I do one every quarter cause I read roughly 180-200 books a year and it really helps me narrow down the field to my top 10.
Love this journal! It’s so beautiful and honestly is what inspired me to actually work on my own reading journal. It’s not nearly as cohesive as yours is but I very much love it and it has been a joy to use this past year. 🥰🥰
I knew you had posted this already. As always I am mega late with my new journal set-up. I'll be drwaing the 2025 journal in the coming days.... And I have been since November sooooo bad at keeping up with my daily journaling. It;s my first year keeping a bullet journal, or more the first ever where I kept to it. That is, till November. I got sick, went on a holiday, got super busy with work, and never picked up my jorunal again without realising... You inspired me last year, and I'll deff use you again for my 2025 set-up. Just gotta watch a bunch of your vids to see how you did it, and how I could use it for my journal too.... But by gosh, there are so many empty pages, and they do not motivate me to continue. That's what happened in November, as I was late to draw up the set-up, December was non existing till mid December.... I don;t do financing, as much as I would have loved that, I couldn;t keep up my writing down all my spendings.... Though this is your reading journal, I just love the way you scroll through you journals, and they truly help those (i.e. ME) with a choatic mind, those that are not creative at all.... Boy Picasso was onto someothing ;) Better to steal an idea and make it yours... Also the 24 thing to do in 2024, not sure why, but I think I might skip it this year, as I didn't keep up with them, and couldn't make up 24 things I wanted to do. So till October they were 15 things to do in 2024, and added some micelenous tasks and forgotten about those again as time went on. And here were are 31th December 2024 all of the things are still empty and not bookmarked. Alas, it's not for us all.... Anyway, thank you for these vids and a Happy New Year to all! And Happy 2025 journaling. I got my first Hobonichi and I'll continue with my bullet journal to actually continue my almost succesful 2024 journal year.
A trope map?? OMG that's genius 😃😃 first time seeing something like this 😁 Honestly Jash, you're freaking amazing!! I love everything you do in your BuJos.. its freaking awesome!! Now, I'm not a bujo productivity girlie, just a personal journal bujo kinda gal, but some of your set-ups have inspired and helped me so much! So thanks! Great video!! My reading journal/notebook literally only has a picture of the cover of the books I've read, how much i rate it and a small description of what each book meant to me/what i got from it. Yours is extravagant and beautiful and amazing and i love it!! 😅😄❤
Interested to hear you bailed on ‘the artists way’ - I have picked this up for 2025 and as a songwriter I’m hoping to find it spurs me on. Your explanation about being smack bang in the middle of a reading challenge makes a bit of sense though. Loved the flip through - really got some great ideas for some of my journal spreads
Hi Jashii, I love your progres in the reading journal and I am soo happy, that it helps you with passion for reading the same way as me. I apreciate your inovation with the movies or gaming space here too. When I saw this video, I have to say, that I love your black stars in the Books read 2023, because it seems to me cohesive with the other texts. I cant imagine, that you will have "brown" backround, black pen and colourful stars. I love it this way, because it doesn´t seem "too much" in my eyes, it has its own decency and it inspire me to have it similar way in my journal for 2026 (because I will have different system and new journals from that year). But your solution for 2024 makes me suprised. I cant say, that I will use it. I still love your first version. But I can understand that different people has different tastes. I had the similar problems with quotes, so I am putting them into the page for my book review if I feel it. I can decide at the end of the book, how much space I will need or if I even have interesting quotes. I realised, that I have this way more interesting quotes, because they are with the context of the book and make sense. I wanted to ask you for a long time, but still didn´t have the courage for a long time. I saw you preparing for mothly challanges, but I have a big problem, that the amount of books in challenge are too much for me, and I have trouble to put challenges, which I know that I can´t succesfully finish (high standards), into my journal. So I end to not doing them. Did you feel something similar? How did you overcome it?
One of the things that I have done to combat challenges that would see me reading too many books in a month is just do the challenge over multiple months rather than in the month they were assigned 😊💜 for example with the Magical Readathon which is typically hosted in a singular month, I just do this over a period at least five 👌
@@JashiiCorrin Thank you for sharing your experiences. Hmmm 🤔 I will do it the same way as you, next year. I had feelings as if I was cheating, but it is reassuring to know, that more people are doing it like this. And because I am not writing comments too often, wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New year in advance. ☺️ I will looking forward to your great work again. See you next time ☺️
Do you use a pocket-sized sticker printer for the book cover stickers? Or do you wait until you have a full sticker paper's worth of covers and use a full sized printer? I've been shopping around for a pocket-sized printer, but there's so many options!
Have you read the locked tomb series? Also I was reading the artist way but at a point it got too hooky for me... but I did enjoy some of it and I did create more so for stuff like that I take what I want leave what doesn't fit me.
Yes. I WANT MY HAT BACK! I read close to 200 picture books a year, to keep up with my job. Jon Klassen is a favorite. Find his book, SKULL. I actually really wanted to ask which pens you use to for the subtle highlights. I bought a set of Tombow pens, thinking they were all created equal, but those babies are dark. If you are using Tombow for your variegated lines, which colors or sets do you recommend?
Thank you so much for this I am going to use it for my journal. What size do you make the book covers on your page that has 25 covers on one page please?
Maybe when you next decide to print your book copies, add the Bride by Ali Hazelwood book, use a scrap paper to paste on it, and use washing tape to paste it at the end of the page to commemorate that it's the fifth favorite. Or just print it and stick it in the next page. You may remember it now, but when you look back in the future, you may forget about it. Just suggesting it since I feel like I would if I were in your position.
I would use Steve as the reading trope of finding the word as the name of a character or as an insult (like how people not so nicely use the word Karen).
I feel like I’ve been seeing that fantasy reading challenge so many places, but I’ve never figured out how to find the info on it to be able to start it, so who is the original creator so that I can try it for next year.
Life is too short to spend time on bad books. In 2024 I decided to DNF more... and it feels like a win and not a failure. The biography of Cecil Beaton (amazing life, terribly chronicled) and Red Harvest were DNFs for me.
