I’m 205,000 in debt. (140,000 mortgage and 65,000 in student loans) The student loan debt is a huge weight on my shoulders as I feel stuck in my job I hate with a decent salary until I pay them off. My mortgage is less stressful since it’s half the cost I would spend renting.
Yes, you can do this!! Totally understand the weight on your shoulders, it will feel incredible once you pay it off (and maybe switch to a job you enjoy ;) Good luck!!

I do that as well sometimes, I’ll just make the one time payment from my savings without thinking too much 😁😁 Debt can be scary, I actually just went to community college to save money on my education. It took me a little bit longer but I was able to graduate debt free. I'm glad your mom/parents instilled in you to hate debt. It can be a burden sometimes to always be so caring of your finances but it's much much much more stressful to actually be in debt. And I am not talking about your 5000.00 car note. I'm talking about these poor people who have 100k in school loans and 40k car note and 30k in shopping debt. I think it's great that you have no school loan to pay anymore and I think it's great that you bought a reasonably priced car. I also think you are doing the right thing by building up your emergency fund because the economy is just going to get worse. Your car note is very reasonable and I agree, it would be more beneficial to build up the savings b/4 you pay that off. You are doing a great job with your finances. You will not regret always paying your credit card balances off every month. I can't stand debt either but most people can't pay cash for a car or house. I have always paid my credit cards off every month. It makes life so much easier. Keep up the good work!
Good question! I had thought of doing that, but the difference in interest isn't significant and I like being on the bi-weekly payment plan that is automated through the car loan. :)
@@ZoePritchard okay, that's fair :). I just asked because I actually put my car on a line of credit. It looks better for me because every time I log onto my bank, I see it so I'm not motivated to pay it off.
Hey, I accidentally bumped into your channel and I love it. I am a relatively successful person. I built my career from scratch after landing in Canada at the age of 30. I can help you with some practical advice. I will be in Ottawa on this Sunday until Thursday. Please see if you can come down for a luncheon or dinner meeting. Be positive. I will also learn from you on being minimalist
Thank you for being brutally honest on the internet. I am currently in the process of paying down my student loans. I can definitely relate to the feelings of 'having a dark cloud over your head' when paying off debt and I think that going through this process, especially when the balance owing is $20-30k+, makes you more 'comfortable' with debt later on.
Telling you, sometimes you feel what video we need from you. ))) Remember when you spent more on your puppy than u had planned and u had emergency money for that ? Well, I am going tomorrow as well to check my 13 year old cat, cause he is not feeling good. And I spent the entire evening feeling as shit, cause I will pay for that from my credit card. It means that income I will receive by the end of June will go for credit card loan and not for actual loan, and I feel it as a step back from my debt free journey. I was trying to think positive, like okay yes ur using ur credit card, but u will pay it back exactly in 9 days when salary will come, yes ur not going forward to close ur debt, but at least ur not making it bigger u just will stay one month in one place, not moving, its better than making ur debt even more. I was talking with myself a lot, and honestly, I am the one who got myself into debt so ))) Not making any progress this month, but anyway, not making debt bigger at least ) Blessed enough, having an income to cover credit card bill ) : 3
I can totally relate to those thoughts you are having. Most importantly, I hope everything goes well for your cat ❤️ it's OK if you have a month here and there with "no progress"... like gets in the way, but what's important is that overall you are on the right track! xo
Debt is kind of like your appendix. You’re better off without it, but you can live with it. However, there’s always the risk that it will swell up and become dangerous.

Can I ask a question? Why don’t you pay off your car loan with your student line of credit?
Good question! I had thought of doing that, but the difference in interest isn't significant and I like being on the bi-weekly payment plan that is automated through the car loan. :)
@@ZoePritchard okay, that's fair :). I just asked because I actually put my car on a line of credit. It looks better for me because every time I log onto my bank, I see it so I'm not motivated to pay it off.
@@oneofeverything9820 nice!! it's deff a good idea
I can definitely relate to the feelings of 'having a dark cloud over your head' when paying off debt and I think that going through this process, especially when the balance owing is $20-30k+, makes you more 'comfortable' with debt later on.
it's a godam ball and chain
mind over matter
keep calm carry on
Telling you, sometimes you feel what video we need from you. ))) Remember when you spent more on your puppy than u had planned and u had emergency money for that ?
Most importantly, I hope everything goes well for your cat ❤️ it's OK if you have a month here and there with "no progress"... like gets in the way, but what's important is that overall you are on the right track! xo
no debt is "healthy debt"
Debt is kind of like your appendix. You’re better off without it, but you can live with it. However, there’s always the risk that it will swell up and become dangerous.
love this!!
You made me realize I hadn’t paid my paypal bill this month. It’s due today. Phew
