Coffee is an industry that has dozens of moving parts to make it function. Not least of which is the barista. This is why we spent the day with Ron Grieco, long-time barista, and co-owner of two Stacks Espresso Bar's in Albany, NY. His life didn't start in coffee, and honestly, it took him a while to come around to it. It wasn't until he was ready to move on from drugs and alcohol that he fell in love with the industry and all that it had to offer. Now, he owns two coffee shops, both fully staffed with wonderful people that have become coffee experts themselves. He wakes up early and stays up late because it's his grind and he loves it (the caffeine helps too). - Розваги
I hate when people say “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life blah blah blah” it’s just not true. Work is still work. I appreciate that sentiment from him!
Also, even if you ARE doing what you love, you still need to make money. I don’t care if people say money isn’t everything. In fact it is what makes the world go around. So if you are not making enough money doing the thing you love and are not comfortable, you need to supplement somehow or find a new job that makes better money.
nah for me it's true. I work from corporate world to Cafe/Barista. I love being a barista.
Right! Like even the job you love gets stressful and tedious from time to time BUT I know the feeling about putting your all into a job you hate and feeling absolutely drained of life afterwards, versus feeling like you accomplished the day and had fun doing it. Either way, you'll get paid and you'll have to damn near work for the rest of your life. May as well have a job you enjoy.
@@JavanmardiFilmProductions6778 goes to show that in some cases doing what you love can/will make you money long as you can market that skill and if that skill set is in demand.
Just what I needed to hear! 💗 I started as a barista working for a chain company soon enough I became a supervisor. But my initial goal had always been to work for a specialty coffee. Now I can proudly say I work for an awesome thirdwave coffee shop that seems to be growing quite rapidly, I was given the opportunity to manage the new store. I loved how you said that regardless if you love what you you are doing it still is a job and you are still having to put in the work!
That espresso machine sounds like a pain in the ass
Not sure how I ended up watching this video, wasn't even searching coffee to begin with. Didn't dawn on me until the very end of the video I actually had drank your coffee before! You guys had a truck at comic con and the coffee was certainly memorable.
I've been in the game a dozen years, I think it's the best job ever

Do you still have the job? And did you have any experience before hand?

Good luck! I want to be a future barista ❤️
I've been working as a barista/server for 2 years and i love the job but it can be very stressful and it causes alot of back and leg strain
years ago I was abroad for university and I wanted to buy Death Wish Coffee for my dad as a small gift for when I came back home after graduation.
I had an email subscription receiving daily emails from Death Wish Coffee Company so that always reminded me to buy it before I leave. My dad died a couple of months before my graduation and three years after his death I still get Death Wish Coffee Company emails and I think this is sad and really ironic.
Hi can you help us launch a cafe in Sudan?
Good ❤️ #Baristapramesh
I'm a barista and I can tell you it's definitely not my favorite job so far. I work in a tourist area so it gets very busy and at times stressful. Our shop is also not designed to handle so many people so it gets chaotic very easily. Its also not as quiet as I hoped it would have been. We don't make benefits either and I am making minimum wage relying on tips. Soooo being a barista is definitely not the best job out there. I enjoyed working at a garden center much more than this
I wouldn't completely change your opinion on working at coffee shops because of the one environment. There are many different settings out there; I would test the water and look around at a few other lowkey coffee shops. Maybe one less fast-paced as such.
What if you unironically love cleaning?
And fixing espresso machines!
cleaning is an excellent career. I've been self employed for 4 years and find it very enjoyable :)

@@jallowjerry9452 hi brother how are you
Then you don't love it
they say 90% of being a professional photographer isnt about photography ... i guess its the same for being a barista
You're wrong.
Im fairly sure that working in a wanky, monotonous environment for minimum wage is not the best job.
Well it don't pay S_ _ _. So it's a useless job.
