In some moments, the cooler tones of the URP looked better and more realistic than HDRP and that's great, but HDRP in other parts like shadows or highlights will always be better
While you are partially right, the lack of advanced full screen AA may make some textures look more crisp and sharp in URP, the lighting tones are a matter of color grading. You can achieve in both simply by playing around with colours in post.
to everyone impressed by URP keep in mind this is almost a completely static baked scene. If you try to create an actual game with realistic lighting and shadows on moving objects you will see the real difference.
yes BUTTT u can get close sort of im using radiant gi with the free volumetric fog package and it looks really good if configured correctly all realtime i have zero baked lightning and running well enough to be able to run on a phone that is snapdragon 870 though its a high end phone but still a phone
Love both, the way "fine detail" is rended in URP reminds me a lot of the PS3 era, while looking slightly sharper and more realistic ofc, definitely a look that's going to come handy for some projects I have in mind!
Not sure if there was much point in comparing baked lighting lol. In terms of performance, URP is better but in terms of graphics, HDRP has superior rendering, lighting, and real-time gi that works with reflection probes, not to mention the specular is much nicer and smoother and the normal maps are more detailed, in URP they are washed out barely there. That being said, I like both pipelines for what they do.
thanks for the video! tbh, at 1:19 and overall I like the lighting more of URP and generally the difference is small. BUT: no ray-tracing was activated + no dynamic lighting was used where HDRP is better. The framerate is usually similar except when activating the extra stuff of HDRP. So for VR I would choose URP bc the GPU is already used up + easy transfer to Quest (Android which works badly with HDRP)
Its an incredible enhancement! The tone mapping changes it from looking like a render to looking real at times! Very impressive. The reflections are an added bonus. Is diffuse global illumination identical between versions?
Теперь я полностью уверен, что URP может выдать картинку не хуже HDRP, а даже иногда и лучше. Плюс такую картинку можно портировать на Android и WebGL. Шикарно. Этим и займусь.
Hi! It is absolutely a real urp vs hdrp comparison! On our website you can also download the related PC build to try or purchase on the Asset Store the Unity package of the scene for URP and HDRP!
URP: "damn, this looks good"
HDRP: "damn, this looks good"

Yeah sometimes URP was looking better with the cooler tones. But HDRP has a more truer render overall
Most scenes that HDRP looks better is.....just add a normal map and setting up GI works OK...ish.
HDRP isn't worth.

Actual game with mostly "Baked" static lighting are still the standard. Amazing examples of games with baked lighting are HL Alyx, LoUS etc.
@@MarcoStillSeasonsCattaneo sure.. the standard if you are stuck in 2018
@@klerb342 Ah ok. So mobile gaming and VR gaming will use Lumen at 90 fps. Good luck with that

I like URP water more.

Love the comparison. Thanks!

Aún así es más realista el HDRP, por está dando la luz del sol y tiene que estar más iluminado

Is diffuse global illumination identical between versions?
It is not exactly the same but a very similar version
Besides the visual comparison, which is very good to see, how are the frame rates in URP vs HDRP with that scene?
We will release very soon also this kind of FPS comparison!
You could have turned off motion blur in HDRP and matched same temperature and lighting. why?
in some moments URP is more good, in another some moments HDRP is more good)
yeah. Those corners looks good with lighting near water stairs in URP because of lighting.
really useful, thanks!
Nice but it really needs to have fps

does hdrp need high-end graphic card?rtx3050 is enough for it?what is your graphic card?
Absolutely! An RTX 3050 can definitely handle HDRP. That said, it all depends on how well the Unity project is optimized.
dont look at HDRP mirror, lol.
if you want to port to mobile or Nintendo Switch: URP
Is this really urp vs hdrp or you use one video and edit them side by side ?
Hi! It is absolutely a real urp vs hdrp comparison!

Thanks. I think universal is in general better. Good to know^^
Is raytracing turned on in hdrp?
no, it's not!
Quick tip! Auto sub😊
URP looks better than HDRP strange
not a big difference
GAMING? URP!
Both are the same. Just need a bit more work to make colors more similar
