Newbie to URP here! I was so confused by the fact that after switching pipeline everything tends to be darker, and this tutorial saved me! It was caused by the Gamma color space, and after change the option it returned to normal. Thanks a lot!
omg thank you for mentioning the "generate lightmap UVs" option on the model import settings. No other troubleshooting guide I found mentioned that and it turns out that's the reason none of my baked lights were working (as that option wasn't checked for any of the assets I'd imported)
Thanks for the video, you can make better shadows in the window if you put Render face:both .To see the two face, because the form of the shadows is generated base on the back face
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing I teached my studies about Lightmapping on URP last weekend and I wish I have watched your video earlier, there was a lot of things that I didn't cover for them.
This is a great video. But when I tried to follow the steps, I didn't know why the lighting of ceiling and walls were always unnatural as there were clear separations between them. I am using Unity 2022.3.10f1. Are there any possible reasons?
Thanks for the tutorial, But I wonder how to fix the shadow of the window's frame? 15:00 the shadow of the window's frame looks too thin, looks so strange. and I got wired light on the left wall when the camera move backward.
After I switch platform to WebGL, problems of frame's shadow and light on the left wall are both gone. It seens everything perfect, I donn't know what happened. @@
What's wrong with the shadows around the light the windows let through? If you compare the original lightmap to your baked result, it's as if the window frames don't cast shadows.
I'm using Unity 2021, and I'm getting light bleeding through the ceiling on the top of the walls and the bottom of the front window to the floor. How do I fix this?
QUESTION : in lightning, my skybox is good, when i change the undirect effect of the sun on the walls, nothing happend... wwhy ? The settings are good, the appartment is on the 2 good layers you show... I don't get it. Nothing change in the intensity of the walls.... cheers
My unity did not have the render pipeline in edit so i instead had to go to window click rendering and then render pipeline converter and convert the first two options
Why Changes in SKYBOX not affecting the scene in URP? I made a custom HDRP for my scene. But, any changes after that not getting reflected in my scene.
I love the way you're showing the workflow at a nice pace. Something that irks me greatly is that the windowframes are not correctly casting shadows onto the floor. Can that be fixed?
Hi, using your tutorial I could achieve outstanding results, amazingly explained, I did light settings of my scene, the only problem I am facing is the red burns on the walls. I am not sure why it is so, can you give me some suggestions for it?
Thanks for posting! This highlights how the problem with why my 3D games look mediocre has way less to do with the quality of the models than the lighting. Will definitely try this stuff out. Hope you keep creating content! One question: The light sort of flickers in the bottom side of the window when you're moving around - is that intentional or a byproduct of some reflection setting?
Very good 👌👌.. Does anyone have problems when using unity2020.. Like when you launch there is another window running in the background.. Like an instance..
You did not fix the shadows at all at 12:55, only made them smoother, but then at 15:54 (or in the thumbnail) they look fine. How did you actually fix them?
I appreciate your videos a lot ! Not to much bla bla and full of information. You make the best Unity tutorials on UA-cam. Thumbs up !!! Maybe you have a tip for me as well. In my scene, the shadows are perfect if I check the baked lightmap in scene view but if I change back to shaded view, the shadows are gone. Any idea what could this cause ?
This is the best lighting tutorial I have ever seen. Although one thing: The light sort of flickers when you move around. Try taking down the post-processing effects a little.
if I bake lighting at high lightmap resolution (4k) and high shadow resolution (4K) with ambient and baked reflection probs. Does This Impact performance on mobile device?
I think it will because mobile devices have limited memory however it may work for small scenes like this. Your try both methods and find what works best for you.
Hey man. I had a question. My specs are: RAM: 12 GB GPU: Intel HD Graphics Processor: Intel i3 Core So, what would be the best parameters to use for the best results? I am aiming for graphics like your scene.
absolutely one of the best demonstrations i’ve seen so far for lighting in urp.
Thanks
Wow, best 16 minutes I spent on any tutorial so far, this will put few more stars on my work. Thanks
Awesome tutorial, simple, clear, no bs, thank you very much for your work !
You're welcome!
Great video, thanks. You can fix the incorrect shadow from the window by changing its material to double sided.
Thanks for the info!
I was precisely looking for this comment, that was driving me mad. Thank you!
Are you an angel here to guide us lost game artists? I'm not joking! I think you are. O_O

Only the furniture in my room shows up in the baked lightmap, not the room itself. The models have the same settings as far as I can see

Great video. I would love to see a tutorial for lighting an interior that doesnt have an outside light source, no windows, fully indoors.
Agreed, it's definitely much harder to get looking nice.
box projection does not work in URP
What's wrong with the shadows around the light the windows let through? If you compare the original lightmap to your baked result, it's as if the window frames don't cast shadows.
Set the window frame material to Double Sided.

I love the way you're showing the workflow at a nice pace. Something that irks me greatly is that the windowframes are not correctly casting shadows onto the floor. Can that be fixed?
If you select the window, then in the Inspector under 'Lighting', set 'Cast Shadows' to 'Two Sided', that should fix it :)
thanks a lot, i wasn't sure on how to use the area light :) great video
Glad I could help!
Hi, good tutorial. ONe question, do I have to bake multiple time to get the final result?
Like it! Right to the point!
Good tutorial 🙏

One question: The light sort of flickers in the bottom side of the window when you're moving around - is that intentional or a byproduct of some reflection setting?
I think that is because I was running it inside Unity Editor.
How do you fix the light leaks form the window geometry?
I would like to know this as well! This was bothering me!
