ISMO writes beautifully concise jokes, often centered around linguistic idiosyncrasies, in his second language. The fact his delivery and comedic timing are so good is just a wonderful bonus. Many will look at him as simple, but it takes serious intelligence to do this.

For me, the beauty of this set lies in it’s simplicity. Concise, relateable material and a super simple premise. BUT: IMO it is Ismo’s delivery that makes him a truly talented comedian. He is so patient, yet so entertaining!. The fact that he gets laughs at 0.30 secs in shows that he has near perfect comedic timing. This man is headed for greatness
His delivery is really good but imo it's not the essence of his comedy, just the form. The true secret lies in his ability to find illogism in language words, expressions or communication in general and expose them in a brutally funny way. It's beautifully found and written and his delivery just hides it. He almost manages to make us believe that he's thinking while performing, like if all of this was spontaneous.

Far from the first comedian to riff on the "Is it a bird?" Superman thing. Many have commented on that, since it was first introduced on the radio serials before television even!
But it is SO fun to see how he puts his observations together, the angle he takes, and his delivery is just perfectly suited- every pause lets the audience in, and makes them laugh along with him. True talent!

Armas Tikko Finnish men are naturally funny without trying, in my experience. Finnish women are more jovial and talkative but they seem to lack the deadpan straight faced delivered humor 😏 my mother is from Finland and I have a lot of family and friends there...

Pretty sure you're wrong. Scandinavia is just Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The reason Finland is often (erroneously) classed as one is due to its geographical proximity to these actual Scandinavian nations.
That guy knows what he's speaking of, he is Finnish, like me.
We are used to this error. I wouldn't mind that definition - but it's just incorrect.
Scandinavia is linked to the language, amongst the other cultural features,
and Finnish is not even an Indo-European language, like most European languages are, including English. English is related to the Scandinavian languages, so it's not overly hard for English speakers to learn Swedish, Norvegian - Danish might be, for its pronunciation. And the Scandinavians learn English pretty easily.
But Finnish is unrelated to English, though many loan words have been taken since WWII. Well, maybe hundred and then some. So Finns typically have a strong accent (at least men :) ); and for an Anglophone Finnish is very demanding, one of the hardest languages in the world to learn.
In other cultural features Finland is very much like it's Scandinavian neighbours, so you can call us Nordic countries.
Finland and Iceland are Nordic countries, not Scandinavian. Both Finland and Iceland are lands that used to belong to a Scandinavian kingdom, and the people in both places are of Scandinavian descent. However, they fall outside of the area known as Scandinavia. That's why the term "Nordic" was created, because the 2 countries are directly linked to Scandinavia, but aren't in Scandinavia proper. However, since all the Nordic countries are culturally and historically linked, foreigners often just call them all Scandinavian. It's an understandable mistake to make.

vcwchen he has more material in Finnish, but his delivery is imo already pretty much as good in English as in Finnish. In Finnish he doesn't have the accent, but he mumbles a lot more, it's sort of his shtick, he's just barely managing to convey his ideas to the audience and people are constantly thinking "oh no he's gonna mess up real soon", and then he won't.

Watch some Finnish rally drivers give interview - it's a broader accent. Ismo isn't that 'rally' - at least he gets the R sound right. And he has that personal squeak, for a funny effect of course.
