He came from the school of Dave Chappelle. They use to do comedy clubs together and Chappelle show was his first show he got on. Comedians learn off each other and feel Bill and Dave definitely learn off each other. If you can make people cringe and laugh. That in a nutshell is dark humor.

Our childhood in the 80s-90s wasn't too dissimilar from the 70s. Even if we have technological proficiency more-so than previous generations, I think it was the post-internet era that re-calibrated the growing up experience for better and worse.
Andy is extremely underrated as a comic and co-host… he’s perfect as his comments make sense and are timed well… he doesn’t always talk often but when he does it’s done with class, intent & purpose. I’d like to see him host another show of multiple guests but at the same time & coordinate the banter… he’d be fun to watch take the lead with other interesting & intelligent characters. I’m sure he has learned a lot from Conan & his own style would be great.
Nothing away from Andy, he is awesome! But, sitcom is so easy / way much easier when you can just sit back and observe, without any need to force anything. Example, when Bill was on Conan and that batshitcrazy lady was in there too who yelled Bill to help with her coat - to take it off.. and then Bill said something about hey Conan i wonder why her relations dont hold up or sum such.. While Andy, and expecially Bill are way above from regular level - i can make these kind of "jokes" all the time too, being "sidekick"..

This aged so well considering the Johnny Depp Amber Heard defamation trial. "Believe all women. All of them?.....what happened to due process..." Love his take on all of that.
Depp lost his case in the UK because it was decided by a judge who said Depp was guilty of domestic abuse. Whereas in the US the case was turned into a circus, a freak show, decided by the media and public opinion so Depp won because of the jury who were in reality his fans. The online campaign against Heard especially by men including death threats was a complete and utter disgrace, shameful in fact. In any other normal country the case would’ve been thrown out and wouldn’t have even made it to trial. So now even more women in the US are afraid to report domestic abuse after seeing an abuser like Depp get away with it.
@@bellabana if Johnny was an abuser why did Kate Moss speak out in his defense? How come Winona Ryder has also come out in his defense? Why has there not been a single ex girlfriend except for Ellen Barkin - who only testified to Johnny's erratic behavior - who has come out against him? You know that Amber has been accused of abuse in the past right? The kind of abuse you accuse Johnny of does not occur in a vacuum. If he has been abusive in the past, this would have come out already. But it never has. Is Johnny a saint? Hardly. Is he abusive towards women? No.
@@bellabana So the one with the recordings of their abuser saying abusive hurtful things, the one who got their finger chopped, the one who was beaten, is the abuser, not the abused. Gotcha, so women are the primary perpetrators of domestic violence, considering how many of them get beaten, maimed, and verbally abused! Oh wait that's ass backwards and idiotic. How about listen to the evidence the abused brings out, and pay attention to the abuser grasping at straws, like their dog stepping on a bee, or clinging to some story about muffins. What's more important, dog paws and muffins, or mr man got his finger chopped?
@@Sweatha44 no I’m simply not a Depp apologist like his female fans that romanticize him because they looooove his movies or a misogynistic male that hates women and believe women should be put in their place. That’s Depp’s fan base. Just because Kate Moss defended him still doesn’t change the fact he abused Amber Heard. That’s like saying because I wasn’t abused as a child therefore it’s not possible for other children to be abused, it’s a false equivalency. I think in years to come people will look back at the way Amber Heard was treated in shame, the mocking, bullying and death threats were beyond appalling. Yet the fact people now who think it’s deserved speaks volumes about them, that’s what’s truly shameful!
I've always liked Bill Burr. When I saw one of his early HBO shows where he the does the bits about the difference in churches, comparing outfits with his black friends, and dating black women, I was in tears. The way he talks about his childhood and tough parenting, I can relate. He is hilarious.
I've seen this like a dozen times; kudos to Conan for being secure enough to give his guest the room to shine, and Bill just knocks it outta the park - every damn time!
He’s so right about kids. No one disciplines kids today. It used to be that you didn’t want to get in trouble in school because you’d be punished there, and then when you got home and showed the parents that note, you got punished again. One of the reasons I left teaching is because if you TRY to discipline a child now, the parent comes in, rips you apart, prohibits detention, etc., and then is the first to blame you when their child gets a B on a test because all of the disruptions their child continues to cause prevents you from fully teaching the lessons. Teachers spend more uninterrupted time with the next generation than any other person, but aren’t allowed to do any of the things necessary to turn out an educated person, much less a good citizen.
My teacher sisters say the same thing. The parents are as bad as the kids, and are not teaching their kids responsibility. Several seniors I know have said they are glad they are not going to be alive when the young generations take charge.
@@rjhinnj Each time one of you people who thinks we can fix things through violence speaks, you speak as if you have some new idea. You're the old way. You're how we got here. The fix is to stop listening to you people once and for all and realize that violence only leads to additional violence.
That's so sad. I was hoping that wasn't really happening, kids are so spoiled nowadays it's pathetic. It makes me wonder how they are going to turn out.

I love Bill Burr. He's not afraid to say what he thinks and he does speak for so many people who wouldn't have the guts to spill it like he does. At the same time he has a humble way about his explosions even when he puts the 'booing' people in their place without batting an eye. He knows his short comings and gives a voice to a lot of bullshit in the world in such a funny way. Great guy!
And he owns up to the fact that some of what he says is ignorant. But no matter how ignorant he may sound, he still makes a strong argument on most topics whether people want to hear it or not.
Look up what he did to the crowd in Philly if you haven't seen it yet 🤣🤣

I love me some Bill Burr. The audience reactions (or scared silence) just reflects where our country is at the moment. You’re either all in on one side or all in on the other. We’ve left no room for nuance or gray areas anymore. Burr and Chappelle THRIVE in those areas.
well said
Yes… it’s sad
I think a table with Burr and Chappelle and someone like Conan as the "moderator" could be epic. Somewhat like David Spade's online show.
Thing is though, he always gets them on side by the end. He makes people see things from his perspective. Sign of a true comedian.
"There's always something I could be doing. That's what I've learned from being married."- Nailed it.
This is why I love Bill burr. He tells it how it is without worrying he'll get cancelled.
He came from the school of Dave Chappelle. They use to do comedy clubs together and Chappelle show was his first show he got on. Comedians learn off each other and feel Bill and Dave definitely learn off each other. If you can make people cringe and laugh. That in a nutshell is dark humor.
It’s almost like the only people who are actually cancelled tend to have criminal charges filed soon after…

Dave's networking was ridiculous by the time he was 21 years old.
This was one of the best appearances ever on Conan no doubt. Bill Burr just made it rain, and Conan just does hosting right. Conan is leagues above the other hosts we currently have

The best comedy is about stuff which is totally true. And Bill Burr is a very regular guy who knows how to portray everyday life in a very funny way.
Two of the best ever. Conan is literally head and shoulders above all late night hosts. Burr is one if the best comedians around.
Couldn’t agree more 🎉
It's good to see Conan really laugh spontaneously and enjoy himself in doing so...he's always been generous in allowing himself, not to try to compete but rather to be an honest audience to true talent.
"50 is not the new 40. It's 50!" LOVE IT!!!
50 is the new 51
had me laughing to the point of asphyxia with that. love how he makes his points while not holding back for anyone. comedians are the true depiction of the first amendment as it was intended to be. (why so serious?) the hate filled context is more mind over anything...... context in jokes are being seen through such skewed perceptions and values and it's a shame for those who want to laugh but are too cowardly to do so... good point btw
50 is the new 49+1.
That phrase doesn't mean that 50 is literally 40. It means that 50 is no longer an age where women become "inivisible" like in the past. Example: Monica Bellucci playing a sex symbol in her 50's in a James Bond film, and she was even older than Daniel Craig.
I never get tired of watching this interview.
Bill Burr is the greatest.

Bill Burr has gotta be the most effortlessly funny man of all time. He can just wing it and it's like watching stand up.
If only more people in the spotlight that have a voice had the balls and heart like Burr does.
I'm into my 30's now, and every day I get a little older, and every day Bill Burr solidifies himself as my favourite comedian. I'm starting to relate more and more lol.
Our childhood in the 80s-90s wasn't too dissimilar from the 70s. Even if we have technological proficiency more-so than previous generations, I think it was the post-internet era that re-calibrated the growing up experience for better and worse.
yup. Him and Gervais. All ye need.
These guys are all great & norm!
Bill Burr is among my favourite half dozen comedians on the planet right now. In a time of people feeling they have to be politically correct in place of telling the truth about a subject, Bill Burr is a breath of fresh air. His talk show appearances with Conan are all good. This particular night he was at his best. I cry laughing watching/listening to this particular night on Conan. Long live Bill Burr!
@@g80gzt @bellabana is in the remaining 13% of people Bill was talking about 😂😂😂
@@Sweatha44 no I’m simply not a Depp apologist like his female fans that romanticize him because they looooove his movies or a misogynistic male that hates women and believe women should be put in their place.

@@ArielGonzalez1 she stood on top of the heads of those little people!
@@MB-xe8bb ...and it's not as though every single generation in the history of humankind has said EXACTLY the same thing.

Bill is right about parenting. We had the discipline back then. Father never hit, but mum used to hit us when we misbehave. It was hurt but not that much. We knew that we deserve it. But the love and solidarity in the family was beyond the measure. The hit of mum was happen when we lie for something, or harm (not our but) neighbours property. So that we learned how to behave.
