      It's got to be part of the act right? He had to be writing the retorts to audience reactions as part of his bit... It's just too perfect to be ad lib. But he delivers it all with such natural perfection that it feels like he's just reacting to the audience.

    • @AJValentine-uc3pi
      @AJValentine-uc3pi 3 роки тому +112

      @@ActionShadow In each stand up special, he usually calls the audience out for their silence at the moment of discomfort, it's like a punchline before the punchline. "Feel how awkward it is in here!" It's a tactic to get the audience back.

    • @randyj420
      @randyj420 3 роки тому +44

      I'm sure he's a master at audiences turning on him - and owning a statement immediately can keep the pace going. Granted - by now - people should know his style and not get butt hurt on anything he says - but - say - on TV or in a Vegas setting - he needs to nip it in the bud and call out the audience right away. Good point. He's great at what he does and goes there - and knows the consequences and deals with it head on.

      Depp lost his case in the UK because it was decided by a judge who said Depp was guilty of domestic abuse.
      Whereas in the US the case was turned into a circus, a freak show, decided by the media and public opinion so Depp won because of the jury who were in reality his fans. The online campaign against Heard especially by men including death threats was a complete and utter disgrace, shameful in fact.
      In any other normal country the case would’ve been thrown out and wouldn’t have even made it to trial.
      So now even more women in the US are afraid to report domestic abuse after seeing an abuser like Depp get away with it.

It used to be that you didn’t want to get in trouble in school because you’d be punished there, and then when you got home and showed the parents that note, you got punished again. One of the reasons I left teaching is because if you TRY to discipline a child now, the parent comes in, rips you apart, prohibits detention, etc., and then is the first to blame you when their child gets a B on a test because all of the disruptions their child continues to cause prevents you from fully teaching the lessons.

      I think one of the things people love about him is that he overreacts to the littlest thing - and they identify with that (except he takes to the highest extreme)

    Bill Burr is an incredible poet; metaphors, allegories, lucid social criticism, balls of steel, and, of course, the cut-throat comedy.
    If he composed music and wrote plays and novels, he would be a complete bard.

      No. Hitting your kids will give you a kid that is obedient and respects you. It will give you a kid that resents you and learns to hide their true self from you. If you believe otherwise, ask your boss to punch you whenever you make a mistake, then see if you make fewer mistakes.

    Bill is right about parenting. We had the discipline back then. Father never hit, but mum used to hit us when we misbehave. It was hurt but not that much. We knew that we deserve it. But the love and solidarity in the family was beyond the measure. The hit of mum was happen when we lie for something, or harm (not our but) neighbours property. So that we learned how to behave. Thank mum and dad. Now I am an academic in a university because of your support and love.
