    I have used door damping sheet on fender liners of Honda city diesel 2015. Now could feel a difference in cabin noise. I think I would be having most silent cabin of honda diesel car around 51 db.

      😅 yes they gave us a small piece of insulation in between the fender liner and body , which ideally is still better than maruti and hyundai which does not have anything , but sir we have to remember polo is their most basic vehicle . Upper in price range , the whole fender liners are cover in insulation from both sides .

    Nice job with the tire fender sound damper job. Question: For Butyl-type products, would the sound dampening qualities work better if it was applied to the frame inside the wheel well, or is it better to apply to the plastic fender?

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Рік тому

      Sir , ideally we just have to create a barrier for sound and the very first thing which comes in the way of noise is fender liner , that's why luxury cars have fender liners covered with felt fabric .

      If you really want silent tyres , then continental are the one you should go for , i m running s drives they are even more noisy 😅

    Brother my car has recently come from the shop after a full rust welding job , after which the cabin road noise has increased significantly while driving high speed on the highway but no in city , also there's warm air that touches my right thigh while driving , I am confused as to what to get checked , please provide suggestions. also my tyres are old.

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  2 роки тому +2

      Old tyres will make more noise , that's for sure , improper alignment can also be a contributor as well
      And usually if a mechanic removes the insulation from the floor for any kind of repair , they never put it back , and the issue of warm air is something you have to check , maybe due to the absence of insulation now the engine heat is getting transferred to the body and you can feel it

    The result will be the same if you will apply damping sheets from inside, the idea is to make the sheet metal absorb the vibration using damping material, the placement can either be outside or inside, because inside it may be easier and will last long.
