  • Touring the Wild Atlantic Way detour to Poison Glen & Glenveagh National Park.
In this episode my day is started by watching Marianne and the wedding party jumping of a local bridge. Brave as the water was really cold. Chris the grooms brother attempts a backflip - watch to the end to witness how that went !!!
After saying getting some laundry done and filling Trudy with water we are back on the road and van life Ireland continues. As we head along the Wild Atlantic Way through County Donegal we head inland on a suggested detour to visit the Poison Glen and Glenveagh National Park.
Wow what a beautiful place. The sun was shining and we managed to get the drone up to film the church at the Poison Glen.
We then went to explore the Glenveagh National park to to discover Glenveagh Castle. It was a 4km walk from the visitors centre but the walk was amazing as the sun was shining.
We had a walk around the castle grounds and again managed to get a few drone shots before heading back to Trudy.
The Wild Atlantic Way is one of the longest designated coastal road trips in the world at over 2,500 km long. Our road trip of the Wild Atlantic Way started at the most Northern Point of Ireland - Malin Head and finished all the way at the bottom in the town of Kinsale.
The Wild Atlantic way is a road trip of a lifetime and that’s why we just had to do it and produce a travel series of vlogs of our experiences along this magical road. We saw beautiful and dramatic cliffs, stunning beaches, the best sunsets, met lots of lovely people, sung at a shanty festival and saw Ireland at it’s best. If you come to Ireland you must visit the Wild Atlantic Way - even if you can’t do the complete road trip just go and do part of it - absolutely awesome and what a road trip to start off our never ending journey around the Globe.
We hope you enjoy this episode of our Wild Atlantic Way Road Trip Vlog Series.
Come with us as we continue along the Wild Atlantic Way

My imagination runs wild as I contemplate what life must have been like when that castle was up and running. Nice shot of Eric and his flip!

So interesting to see the difference between your videos now compared to these. When talking outside you are more almost careful with your words, speaking slowly I mean and very serious, especially Chris. Compared to now where when you talk you are much more relaxed i would say, and just say things. Before it almost looks like your words I kind of rehersed in a way. Love it! And now I am getting to know Ireland!

Yes the scenery really is amazing - glad to hear you like the drone shots - was nice to have no wind to be able to fly it. Yes Marianne and those guys were brave - would have been a shock to the system to hit that cold water. 😀

Am waving right back at you! It is majestically beautiful, isn't it? You have been so fortunate with the weather - the sun makes everything so vivid. Loved the drone shots with the lake and castle. Chris is a good sport. His epic fail of a backflip was great fun to watch!

I’ve only just discovered your Chanel. I’ve followed your Ireland trip this far. I was gutted I didn’t see Ballyliffin or Clonmany. I’m from England but my mum was from Derry so my summers were spent in Inishowen. I love Donegal and have tried to explore it as much as I can with my son but with a hire car and hotels (expensive). I’ve still got so much to see. I particularly enjoyed the footage of the old church near Greendore which I had to revisit. Really loving your videos and will go through them all. 👍🏼

My cousins just think the scenery is ok, but they have lived there all their lives.
You should have done the castle tour, very interesting and the famous people who have stayed there.
You can walk right through Glenveagh, but you would need someone to pick you up at the other side.
That summer was a one in twenty year summer, I can't begin to tell you how wet it has been in Donegal on some of my trips on the bike and May used to be the best month. I took a friend over who is Argentinian on our bikes and in the month of May we had rain, gale force winds, some sunshine and hail all in the same day.
The drone footage and editing is great, but the music just doesn't suit the location. I normally use local artists like Enya and Clannad for atmospheric effect.

      @TREADtheglobe  6 років тому +1

We have heard that Donegal has its own micro climate ?? and we were sooo lucky with the weather 😍🔅🌴 we are grateful that we were able to film and show off the scenery at its best 💚😀🌺 Chris said that for him he can't use Enya or Clannad or any artist that is not on his music provider or we get into bother with copyright 😉☹ but we privately listen to both of those artists 🌺😍

I don't have a monetised UA-cam account, so I can play just about anything. I have had quite a few copyright claims on my videos, but YT assures me there is nothing to worry about and now the tracks have links to iTunes and the like, so it is a win-win situation. If your account is monetised then they won't allow it.
There are plenty royalty free music out there much better than UA-cams offerings.

Sounds great - we are not monetised yet either !!! 😂👍 we are just beginners !! Chris is subscribed to Epidemic sounds just to ensure they don't take our videos off in the future - we love their sounds so much we have even put some of their tracks on our MP3 for driving tunes !!! 😂😍👍
