    Nice. Few people teach the snow plough but it’s a useful stop especially backwards.

    To me, the plow stop is far more easy than the heel brake. The heel break I learned at the same time as the scissors and T-stop, those require more training and mastery IMHO, because of the balance they demands.

    Dear Powerslide Inline Skate,
    For a Dutch Educational Television Show from the Public Broadcasting Station, I'm making an item about skate wheels. For this item, I need footage of a tri-skate, and your video is amazing. Would you be ok if we use a few seconds of your video on our show?
    All the best,

    Removing the spacer Wil also destroy your bearrings..

    • @PowerslideInlineskates
      @PowerslideInlineskates  4 роки тому

      not really, if your bearings have a good enough quality and you do not extremely over tighten the bolts, your bearings will be just fine and not roll much, so you practice slowly.

    • @Vanalleswa
      @Vanalleswa 4 роки тому

      @@PowerslideInlineskates the bearrings can't take sideways force. They are not built for that. The reason your wheels are not spinning as fast, is because you are bending the inner ring vs the outer ring of the bearing. So you really are destroying your bearrings. This is really bad advice!

    • @PowerslideInlineskates
      @PowerslideInlineskates  4 роки тому

      @@Vanalleswa if you are just about to learn to skate and go really slow and carefully to learn the fundamentals, the pressure will be not so much and good bearings can withstand that. this is an advice for the very first steps how to learn to skate. of course for intermediate and higher level skaters, we fully recommend the use of spacers and all our skates do come with spacers.

    • @Vanalleswa
      @Vanalleswa 4 роки тому

      @@PowerslideInlineskates I understand why you are advising this. But as a skate branche, you can't give this advice. You probably know a lot about skates, I know a lot about bearrings. Even the best quality bearrings are not built for sideways pressure.

    • @PowerslideInlineskates
      @PowerslideInlineskates  4 роки тому +1

      @@Vanalleswa maybe we can agree on that way: we do not recommend to take out the spacers if you want to actually skate a lot. we encourage you to try out the beautiful form of inline skating in any way possible. if you are too scared of the quick rolling movement of your wheels and prefer to roll slowly to gain control and skate skill first, the way to take out your spacers between your bearings can help lowering the rolling speed. we do not recommend to skate long distances or lots of impactful skating with this version.
      thanks for your honest input, always much appreciated!

    Сегодня первый раз прокатился на роликах
    Сначала ехал в гору - было тяжело, неуклюже и я думал: "скорее бы спуск".
    И вот начался спуск. Именно тогда я понял, что даже не представляю, как тормозить эту хрень
    Скорость становилась всё больше, а мои надежды на благополучный исход всё меньше. Потому что в конце спуска была свежая полоска асфальта после укладки труб
    Но в этот раз мне повезло и я даже не упал, чему очень рад, потому что никакой защиты на мне не было
    И вот теперь я смотрю это видео

    Hi Asha,
    Please what protective gear pads are you wearing? I am interested in finding ventilated padding especially knee and elbow. I am happy with the wrist guards I currently own.
    Thank you,
    Mitchell

    • @nlight8769
      @nlight8769 7 років тому

      Powerslide manufacture some, however I would advise you if you can, to go to a shop and test the different gears available, and particularly check that the the gear once in place, don't shift or would not shift with a shock, it is very very important. IMO, no "ventilated" gear pads ever fulfilled the task correctly in that regard.
      Cheers

    If your feet get too close with a plow stop, just go into pizza wedge stop.

  • @manuelsen69
    @manuelsen69 8 років тому

    imho you should learn the t-stop asap. once you figured it out, you can put more and more weight on the back foot and it soon becomes a faster and safer way to stop than the heel break because it provides way more stability since you can bend your knees further and lower your centre of gravity. especially if you go fast.

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos 8 років тому +4

      The Tstop is a useful stop and slowing down method, but I have tested it against the Heel brake stop (i.e. 2 god skaters travelling at same speed, one doing heel brake and one doing T-stop) and every time the heel brake wins in terms of stopping distance because it is simply more efficient at stopping you than the T-Stop. However the Heel brake stop is often 'bullied' and not given the respect it deserves because it is considered 'uncool' by some people.
      This is hugely unfortunate because the heel brake is THE best method for everyone to use when they first start skating. Personally I think it should remain with a skater until they can do 3-4 OTHER stops well from high speeds (and the T-Stop will of course be one of these methods). But I don't recommend people remove the Heel brake when they only have a 'more or less ok' T Stop. This causes lots of problems. Bending the knees in all stopping methods will produce the same result; more intesity and more energy transfer into the ground.
      For more discussion and tutorials about Stopping methods, check out this new video series (for a limited time only).

    It's hard to transfer weight to my front foot (I think) because my roller blades might be too big. I'm a size 10, and my roller blades are a size 12. My feet wobble considerably.
