Hi everyone. Thanks for watching and your lovely comments. Quite a few people have mentioned the high cost of the ferry crossing. We chose to pay extra by only booking a one way ticket thus giving us the freedom of deciding when to return. Its certainly an expensive way of doing it but worth it for what we do. The next video will be about using the ipad for navigation. We have received quite a few questions about it and its easier to show you. Hopefully that will be up tonight and the next trip video will be on Saturday 👍
Just started watching this Isle of Man series. I live in Warrington and it's nice to see Moore and the Mersey Gateway bridge. I worked on the document control for that bridge and my dad & grandad built the original (Silver Jubilee) bridge. The IOM ferry crossing is what made me seasick (for life) aged 10. I'm going to enjoy reminiscing childhood holidays & day trips to IOM
I’m truly looking forward to your trip. I met a mother and daughter from there while visiting in Tasmania and now I have the opportunity to see their wee Island...do enjoy🇨🇦
Yeah, it's been a year since I am searching Ireland's traveling vlogs and luckily find you. Exciting about the weather, the new navigation, and the hard-working port and ferry staff who keeps commuting through the channel alive. Expect the tour on the Isle of Mann.
Great to see you both back on the road again. Went to the Isle of Man back in the 80's with the kids.... loved it it, it was a time warp, so so nice. Have to go back.
A ferry always triggers the sense of an adventure which is daft as its not needed for one. Its the kid in us being awakened. I remember when everything triggered that response. Oh for those days again. 👍
Agree on all fronts. Whether snatching a couple of hours kip in the car after arriving in Dover or Calais at stupid o' clock in the morning for the cheaper crossings. Or the good old days of the Harwich to Hamburg crossing, 21 hours at sea. Always exciting.
Its a very small world Ken, you were about four miles from us when you stopped in Moore village. If you come back this way feel free to drop in, we would like meet you both. Enjoyed the video so keep them coming. Hope the isle of Man meets all you expectations. Andy.
@@LifeistooshortCK Oh, your not the only one who turns up early for ferries and the like, I'd rather be three hours early than 5 minutes late. Carol and Ken what an amazing road trip again .was very kind of the pub to let you over night 😀for the price of a meal and a drink ...great to see you out again .

You may have answered this question, in the first park up, why don’t you back in so your heads are against the brick wall? It seems as if it would be more quiet.
Good suggestion. It was probably because of the levels. We like to sleep with the van slightly nose done so our heads are higher than our feet when sleeping.
You two gave me a chuckle or two with this one. Particularly when you didn't know you were being filmed Ken. " Better than a bloody burger" he says 🤣. I could feel the excitement of a new trip! Have a wonderful time in the Isle of Man. I’ll be very interested to see what it is like. I’m always keeping an eye on the price of fuel and it was eye wateringly expensive on the motorway services! I’d be at the port early too. X

Hi ken, can't believe I miss you in Liverpool, we where there from the Tuesday till Friday the 6th & I was down the docks on that Thursday morning taking my last picture near the cruise ship at 8.18am. I see from the clock in the vlog you checked in at 8.50am I must not have missed you by much. We said the same as Carol the cruise ship must be waiting for us, we should be so lucky lol. We when down there at 6pm that night to see it depart. Hope you are enjoying the I.O.M despite the weather. 👍😁😍🚢⚓
Enjoyed the video Carol and Ken, glad to see you filled with such anticipation about being back on the road...loved seeing the rain ..looking forward to your adventures..didn't understand all the security checks to board the ferry..smuggling?..and thought I would give you insight on what I paid for a gallon of regular gas yesterday...$3.089...it has been this price for a few month's..sorry didn't pay attention to the price of diesel..stay safe from Phoenix Arizona US
Thanks Elisabeth. The security checks were in case we were smuggling any illegal goods or people! Your fuel is a lot cheaper than over here. Even on the Isle of Man, which is cheaper than England we are paying about £5.87 a gallon!
OMG...Your gas is so expensive, I remember now, probably why people drive a standard transmission in the UK vs. an automatic..here, very few standard transmissions anymore. Smuggling a concern in the UK, people trying to leave the UK....here it is smuggling drug's from Mexico into the US, tight security at check points..crazy world we live in..do enjoy watching your video's, enjoy hearing the prices you pay for item's and of course the green landscape, rain ☔, castles and carryout food item's for lunch and dinner.😊🌵
Also just wondering at 19:32 we see the Jogger the Cruise Ship and a building on the left... any idea of what that building is? Some sort of Hotel or apartments?
Mmm…dark chocolate gingers - my all-time favourite biscuit but usually resist and buy them at Christmas. Interesting to chart your journey bound for the Isle of Man, but thought the ferry fare very expensive, especially being just one-way. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure.
You can buy those Dark Chocolate Gingers in a pack of 6 individuallly wrapped biscuits. I get those as it seems easier to just eat one at a time like that & also they stay crisp till you eat them. I get them from Morrisons online.
Glad to see you both so well. Looking forward to travelling with you around the Island. £540 return for that short distance is an eye opener. Could you please tell me about your ipad holder. Regards from Solent Coast. AJ
The ipad holder is a home made lash up. I used that plastic board that modellers and estate agents use. One piece is stuck onto the ledge in front of the radio. Another piece forms a lip that the ipad rests in. I use a strip of non slip mat to stop it moving and touch wood its never moved at all except coming off the ferry which you will see in the next episode. On rough roads its fine. It just drops in and rests against some non slip at the back. Very quick to set up and take down for storage out of sight. 👍 If you are tempted to try it I recommend you test the ipad in the car first. I was going to use a larger ipad pro but the gps lock didn’t work on it. This is an older ipad and works great.
Wow is it really a year since you were in Ireland? That's when I first became aware of your channel. Great content and videography as always. Where on earth has that year gone? Even with half of it spent locked down it's gone obscenely quickly. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
Thanks again Ken, Carol, Very organised Ferry arrangements, made me smile compared to our ferry experience in Greece, been on several, but Kefalonia to Ithaca with a jeep is interesting, l would say a lot more informal, and on some trips getting on and off is like the start of a Grand Prix loosely marshalled by a Greek Police man giving everyone stern looks for no real reason with his hand casually on his gun.
We tried going to Spain via France during our first year but had to dash back when covid started spiralling out of control. We will certainly go back once things are stable but don’t fancy it whilst our government keep changing their minds over restrictions. The French keep messing us about as well at the moment.
Hello Ken and Carol nice video again i enjoyed as always...Carol how is your wound next to your eyebrow hopefully healed well....it is wonderful to travel with you like you are in your little red van.... every time I enjoy it looking forward to the video 😊👍

We have said hello to those fairies a number of times already. I think we must have forgotten once as you will see in a future episode 😀
@@LifeistooshortCK 👍That's fantastic, we're tt fans and have unfortunately have had our visit deferred until next year and have really missed our time out there so look forward to seeing it this year on your channel 😊

Thanks Ted.
Great start to another adventure, have a fantastic trip, looking forward to the vlogs.
Ps expensive ferry!!
What a small world, it would have been great to meet you on the dock 😀 The weather has not been great but we are having a great time.
Hello you nice folks never been there so Looking Forward 🇮🇪☘️☘️
Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to the next as the IOM is on my bucket list
Glad you enjoyed it Alan 😊
Live on the Island, hope you have a great time.
Thanks Simon 🙂
New subscriber after watching a lot of your Vids. You seam like a lovely couple. Keep up the good work. 👍
I was just wondering what was the difference in the cost of the Belfast ferry and the Isle of Man ferry.
Hope you have a safe and enjoyable tour.
The ferry to Belfast last year was £287 which included a cabin for the night.
Enjoy your adventures look foward to the upcoming vids all the best donny
Thanks Donny 🙂
They are SO friendly! ☺
Great video Great editing hope to welcome u back in ni soon
I think it is a community centre and offices.
Fabulous as always and we’ve been looking forwards to this one. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mmm…dark chocolate gingers - my all-time favourite biscuit but usually resist and buy them at Christmas. Interesting to chart your journey bound for the Isle of Man, but thought the ferry fare very expensive, especially being just one-way. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure.
It probably would have been a similar price for a return ticket but we wanted to be flexible and have no idea how long we will be on the island 🙂
You can buy those Dark Chocolate Gingers in a pack of 6 individuallly wrapped biscuits. I get those as it seems easier to just eat one at a time like that & also they stay crisp till you eat them. I get them from Morrisons online.
We do love those biscuits. Thanks for the tip 🙂👍
If you are tempted to try it I recommend you test the ipad in the car first. I was going to use a larger ipad pro but the gps lock didn’t work on it. This is an older ipad and works great.
I love your vlogs! They’re so relaxing and you are such a fabulous couple..👍
Thanks Linda. ❤️
Hi Ken & Carol.
Good to see you back on the road. Quick question:- what's the procedure for finding a pub stopover?
Enjoy your trip.
Ian & Carol..
We found that one on the Park4night App. You can buy a Britstops guide which lists them but it is not available online.
Excellent Ken and Carol have a great trip.
Thanks Ian 👍
Iv just come across this I do hope you visit Castletown I grew up there loved it would love to go back but money doesn't let me ATM xx
Thanks for watching Nicola. There is plenty more to come ☺️ Castletown is a lovely place to grow up, hope you can return one day soon 😀
Life is too short do they do sailings from Liverpool for walk on passengers xx
@@nicolagriffiths9974 yes, you can catch the Steam Packet Ferry as a foot passenger.
Life is too short thank you I thought they stopped the ferry's from Liverpool that's is were I live now lol xx
Great first video 🙌🚐🙌💙❤️
Wow is it really a year since you were in Ireland? That's when I first became aware of your channel. Great content and videography as always. Where on earth has that year gone? Even with half of it spent locked down it's gone obscenely quickly. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
Yes that year has flown by. Thanks for sticking with us John 😁👍
I love a merlot too, cheers!
🍷👍🙂
Will you be coming back to the Island to see the Island in full swing of TT week?
I’m sure we will go back one day. It would be great to experience the TT.
Thanks again Ken, Carol,
Very organised Ferry arrangements, made me smile compared to our ferry experience in Greece, been on several, but Kefalonia to Ithaca with a jeep is interesting, l would say a lot more informal, and on some trips getting on and off is like the start of a Grand Prix loosely marshalled by a Greek Police man giving everyone stern looks for no real reason with his hand casually on his gun.
Would love to do some of those trips and probably would be now had covid not messed everything up 👍
Hi Ken and Carol.
Hi Larry 👋
Just found your Blogs and love them!!!! do you ever venture to france? For motorhomes not much beats it!!
We tried going to Spain via France during our first year but had to dash back when covid started spiralling out of control. We will certainly go back once things are stable but don’t fancy it whilst our government keep changing their minds over restrictions. The French keep messing us about as well at the moment.
Tks for the video. I always enjoy them. Maybe a word about the ipad holder or support you are using. I might not have looked enough. 😏
New video coming out soon about the iPad navigation set up 🙂
Love your video you sets calm an harmony, couple
Thanks Jan ☺️
