Welcome to Scotland. You are a beautiful couple with infectious personalities. You made me smile. I admire your attitude. The best of luck to you both, Michael x
Can I recommend that when connecting the electric cable to your camper you connect the cable to the van first and then to the mains. That means you are not carrying a live cable across wet grass. When disconnecting, just reverse the process. Stay safe.
Hi fellow South Africans and fellow camper/vanlifers from the UK.We just back from Scotland and spent two nights at The Paddocks and that same horse does not understand South African lingo lol Loving your videos and a suggestion for a name of your new camper,BUDDYMOON! If you need any advice please let me know.Travelled the beautiful Scotland many times.Love from a South African living in Manchester Michelle x
I would also add- don't leave the cable coiled like it was, uncoil it and lay it randomly, if coiled and with a load on it it will heat up and possibly melt the insulation. (an electrician). Enjoy Scotland.
The van looks fantastic. Looks like you have your hook up cable wound up - DANGER. it could catch fire in that configuration. Always un coil it when in use. Always connect the cable to the van first before connecting to the post. Good luck.
Welcome to Scotland guys, youll love it here. I get away in my van as much as possible, you must visit the isle of Skye and all the other islands in the hebrides. Harris and Lewis is mindblowing.
Unfortuonatly our sink didn't come with a plug and the one we bought doesn't push down enough to trap the water. So we will have to keep looking until we find one that fits or perhaps get a silicon one 😊
I carry a rubber disc that I cut from an old inner tube. It's very handy as a sink plug and fits most sizes. Many campsite and public bathrooms have missing plugs.
Use bog roll or a bit of cloth .. stuf it in and the force the plug down on top of it to make a seal .. not perfect but it will get you by until you find the holy grail of plugs to fit 😆
Good luck on your travels. A few things., put the power cable in the van first and then into the power supply. More worrying is your gas locker, it needs a drop hole in the the floor, the gas box has to be sealed from the inside of the van. Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. Please get these bits fixed.
You guys bring in so much positive energy. Always enjoy watching your videos. This campervan has brought in a completely new dimension to your travel videos. Look forward to watching your new adventures ❤
You are a happy couple and have a good attitude while putting your van together while enjoying Scotland. I can't wait when you start exploring the country
Hey Guys. Absolutely love you both. 😘😘 You experience and say things just they way myself and my partner do when we experience new things. We live in Franschoek South Africa and we are in a deep wet Winter here. As we both have outdoors jobs, the last weeks persistent rains have lead to binge watching of all your travels. Love watching you guys. Keep going at it.❤❤❤❤
The only reason we want to make videos is to be able to bring a smile to your face. So it means so much to us when you say that it does🙏We appreciate all your love and support ❤️
Brilliant vlog..I will be following. Just a safety precaution, always unravel your electric cable fully as it can over heat if left coiled and cause a fire .. Safe journey x
A big change and a completely new chapter. But we are excited for the adventures ahead. Asia will always hold a special place in our hearts and we will go back and visit as there is still so much to explore ❤️
RUBY, think about calling the van Ruby. Rubies are treasured gems, and I hope your journey creates treasured memories. Have a great journey. Looking forward to watching your travels.
Hello friends, You both had a lovely time in the van first time in Scotland. The horses are really nice in the horse yard. She can drive the van so well. You both are skillful drivers
I was confident that you both would continue to entertain and make it a success. Your authenticity and teamwork are your strengths and it shows. I'm looking forward to witnessing the beginning of your van journey and eagerly anticipating more to come. 😃 Another suggestion for van name = Ladybug (red and black colors).
Loved your video. Amazing looking van and a cracking couple. I would recommend you check drone policy with the CAA because filming from inside the vehicle not having your eyes on the drone at all times might get you in a bit of bother. 👍
Just found your video. Love your brand-new van. 🤩 You both have such carefree attitudes and that makes your videos enjoyable to watch. We already live in an RV and it's fun to watch newbies. Lol. Such a beautiful couple. Good luck. Subscribed..
Just found your channel and now subscribed, you seem like a fun pair! I remember my first time being in snow, when I moved to England (was about 10) & it was one of the heaviest snowfalls they had, had. Was amazing so I understand your excitement! Look forward to seeing your adventures to come :)
As a former truck driver who used to travel the A82 several times a week including loch lomond, for all users keep to the left as much as you can , truck and bus drivers will often have to hog the centre line on bends , but they will usually not go over the line. stay safe 🚒
That was so much fun! What you referred to as ice was just snow that has been melting. My lawn has a bunch right now, lol. (Canada) Snow in all it's forms can be a blast to play in, but not with bare hands. Like that electric heater, gloves will be a game changer. :)
How exciting! Welcome to Bonnie Scotland 😍🏴👌hope you have a wonderful time,my suggestion for the vans name is Heather like your first beer and Scotland’s national flower 🤔👍.✊🙏❤️👊
Pleeeeeaaase! Always connect your hook up to the VAN FIRST, unreel your cable, and then connect that to the Electric Supply. When you disconnect, take the supply end OFF FIRST. One little nick in the insulation, and you standing on wet grass with wet hands - you, my friend will be TOAST!! If it is raining, it is essential to wear rubber gloves, just in case the connection end is damaged.
Hey guys yous missed the deer at kings hotel at glen Coe they come down from the mountain to say hello and it's the hotel bar just before the big metal bridge. Also glen etive is stunning just after the metal bridge to the left. You should also do the nc500
Excellent start to the new adventure! One thing to note is please open a window when cooking and using the stove. It will help keep mold from building inside the van and is just a good safety thing to do 😊 Enjoy your travels in Ruby (as in Ruby Red!) Cheers from 🇨🇦
Thanks Bryan, the extractor vent is always open when we parked 😁and will be sure to open a window too. Definitely don't want any mold. Love the name suggestion BTW😁
The vents on the roof are open when cooking. But yes we do have a carbon monoxide alarm😊 Also do keep in mind we new to this, so all suggestions are welcome.
Great video guys really enjoyed it. If you’re near glencoe again in the next couple of weeks go to the ski resort and take a trip up on the chair lift, you will get proper snow up there 😀. We have an old joiners van that we converted ourselves and are out and about all over Scotland so might see yous in the passing defo won’t miss the big red van. Looking forward to watching you’re adventures 👍
Welcome to scotland guys , great video ❤️ what you got there with the guy with the heater is typical scottish campsite hospitality , maybe bump into you guys on your travels 😃
We just left there on a short bank holiday weekend at ‘The Paddocks’….spacious pitches but website stated it was fully serviced pitches but when we arrived there was no grey waste drain at pitch, luckily we brought our grey waste carrier and used the main ground drain beside the toilet block. Lastly the toilets and showers were clean and great, only criticism was the showers not being private cubicles, it was basically 3 showers in a row with frosted glass. So once you had a shower you basically had to dry yourself in the shower and wrap a towel around you and dress the old fashioned way outside with others. Not an issue for myself, but some people like privacy and that just wasn’t it, would have been nice for 3 cubicles made for both men and ladies. 😊
The Scottish countryside never fails to amaze and astonish. I believe there are silicon caps that will seal the sink using the pressure of the water to keep them in place, once you pop the seal it can be removed and drain the sink.

LOVE your first sight of snow! I didn’t even know Ingilston had a campsite so will need to visit there in our touring caravan Peggy (towed by a car). Looking forward to your next vlog. Have subscribed and hit the bell! the yellow triangles under van wheels (levellers) and a spirit level are well worth investing in so you don’t have to sleep on the wonk. 😅 PS Still think you should call the van “Buddie” after the Paisley Buddies 🥰🏴
Your Airbnb host was right. The drive to Glencoe is one of _the_ best in Scotland. And on a crisp winter day too. Fantastic! Although, if you think those roads were narrow, wait until you get further north! 🫣😬🤣
Think we got sooooo lucky with the weather but definitely not complaining about that😂😂 unfortunately we were not able to go further north as we needed to sort things out but it's definitely on our list to do😁

This is crucial. Great info. Lots are unaware this could happen.
Thank you so much for these tips😁 we really appreciate and will make sure to incoil and plug the hook up into the van first next time 😊

We have amazing videos planned😁😁 can't wait to show them to you😜 absolute legend for the constant support❤️ thank you @Ckrisg1
Love your beautiful smiles wherever you go in the world!
Sink plug is the correct one just push down on the plug that seals the sink lift up to release the water lol 😅
Unfortuonatly our sink didn't come with a plug and the one we bought doesn't push down enough to trap the water. So we will have to keep looking until we find one that fits or perhaps get a silicon one 😊

Hi Guys. You can get an App on your phone to check your level when you are on a campsite. Enjoy.
Great video - I have not seen you before but really enjoyed this and I loved the scenery .
Well hope you stick around to see more😁😁😁
Your new van is a gem which is why I think Ruby would be a great name for your beautiful red van ❤
In the USA we call them snow capped mountains.
I second Ruby
lovely people, very brave. You need to get insulation for the windscreen and all the the glass windows.
Just discovered you guys and what an absolute joy to watch you both are!Looking forward to joining you both on your van life adventures 😊
So much love❤❤❤❤❤

Welcome to Scotland guys. You are going to see some fantastic areas/geography,so don't sleep too much 😊. Oh and lakes in Scotland are called Lochs
Safety tip for you. Don’t leave the power cable in a coil. They can overheat and catch fire.
Then why don't extension cable that are wound up don't catch fire ? Lol
Not buying that tip
It would be good idea to put a high capacity water tank on Van Roof side, u will save energy on pumping water and it will be more safe and hassle free to clean.
