- Jackhammer ChatterBait VS Berkley Slobberknocker FULL REVIEW!
Here is my full review and comparison between the Jackhammer chatterbait vs the Berkley slobberknocker! - Розваги
I picked up a few Slobberknockers on clearance tonight for $5 each at Academy. Cast one a few times to try it out, definitely a different feel. It did seem to be consistent though and didn’t seem to lose its vibration much. The Jackhammer stealth is my go to but I’ve wondered about these and for 5 bucks each definitely worth trying. I don’t think anything will beat the stealth for me though. Love those little things. I like the wire keepers but I did have a 5 pounder demolish one last year. It bent back but not something that would happen with the lead keeper.
Awesome video. Really enjoyed the in depth non biased information. Can't wait to get my hands on the new bait.
Thank you! You know I worked with Zman for many years and was a happy user of the Jack hammer for even longer. I love that bait, but am always open to brands evolving and improving the sport. I happen to like this one a lot and am very relieved that it came out so nice and unique
Great video with great details! Gives you a lot to think about. Much appreciated!
Berkley has really came up in the Bait world
Berkley took Queens tackle's idea to the next level.
Great comparison video
Can't wait to try one out
You will like them!
Where the blade connection is through the head the Slobberknocker doesn't roll and hang up in wood like the Jackhammer does but like you said they are totally different and shouldn't be compared with each other because both have there place
the skirt fell out on the slobknocker and it feels real cheap and the sharp hook was only for few fish. Zman has the better build in my opinion
You just got a bad one it sounds like. But both a great and I am sure everyone has a favorite. I like them both for different applications
I disagree on the hook keepers. The wire is designed for elaztech plastics and it works really well. Lead keepers do not work with elaztech very well.
All personal preference. There is a reason Zman changed their ned rig head from wire keepers to lead shaft keepers too. The wore keepers destroy baits much faster and the dense plastic with elaztech grab the lead really well in my opinion. I’ve learned that fishing is 70% luck, 20% opinions and 10% skill. I jus T keep working on getting my skill up to 10% :)
Definitely seems interesting but the whole reason for a ChatterBait is to chatter and make loud noise to draw them in from longer distances. I guess I'll have to wait and try one for myself.. and the head shapes are almost identical from what I can see. just the way it connects is the only difference again that I can see . But always cool to see new lures new Innovations . But that trailer definitely seems like money
Thank you! The head on the slobber is much larger on the bottom and has a cool sweeping design. Makes it much more efficient for hitting structure vs the smaller pointier head.
Chatter bait / Vibrating jig ? Same thing to me idk 🤷♂️
What rods are you using ?
I use FX Custom Rods. On chatters I use the 6’9” casting rods mostly
I’d say the Chatterbait is the winner as there’s video evidence of a catch. 🤨👍
Chatterbait - 1
Slobberknocker - 0
I caught a monster on the slobber the day before and plenty on this day too. I’d say they are even in catching. I like the slobber more for swim baits and open water since the vibration makes it more lifelike
Lol got it so the Slobberknocker beats the jackhammer in ever category. I hope everyone listens to you and I’m the only one still throwing a jackhammer on the lake after the Slobberknocker comes out.
Haha. I think they both have their place for sure. They have very different retrieves and patterns in my opinion. A vibration vs a charter. I prefer the slobber for swimming retrieves and I like the chatter in more jigging situations. But again, both have their place as every bait variation does. It takes many types of hammers to build a house correctly
@@TheBassquatchHunter I’ve yet to use it but I’m just messing around you man. I understand where your coming from. I hardly ever throw my jack hammer and straight retrieve it. It does get hung in weeds but that snap that clears the head also produces some of the best bites. Overall it was a good breakdown of the slobber. It was just funny at the end advantage went to the slobber in almost every category
@@rkeyloroutdoors trust me, a lot of people are excited to see more JH on the shelf so they can buy them, but I don’t think those sales will slow down too much. I think I am just more relieved that there is finally something that is not trying to copy the JH as much as finally improve the design to accomplish other parts of fishing. I am waiting for the fall bite to truly test this out since that is prime time for that bait up here
Minimax for the overall winner 🏆
Clearwater the stealth blade jackhammer, stained reg jackhammers. Slob idk yet, jackhammers have been proven longer.
I agree. As with any new bait or gear, the more time spent with it, the more successful it can be:)
I definitely like dual wire Keepers better
I used to.. before I got to use the lead keeper. The wire keeper always shreds my trailer and once it rips and slides down, it’s done. The lead keeper is solid for holding it and doesn’t rip the trailer if it slides down.
@@TheBassquatchHunter agree to disagree 😊
So it feels more like a lipless crankbait
I would say more similar to a blade bait.
@@TheBassquatchHunter gotcha that makes lotta sense!! Stay safe tight lines , ✌️
This is not a very good test. You could have used one of the baits in a part of the lake with limited fish, then used the other one in a densely populated part
Best fishing tip:
There are fish in the water everywhere and they swim all around. All day.
This was a very even review with pros and cons of both and my opinions on both of them. It wasn’t about catching fish, it was about sharing the comparison of the 2.
Why are you critiquing him? It was a great video. You act like these guys got xray vision its more like they're good poker players
@emstar421 there nothing wrong with critiquing. Its not like i was rude or out of line
@@michaela.kelley7823 I mean, you insinuated that I was being disingenuous with my review for some reason. I have zero reason to be bias with either bait when doing a comparison or review. I felt I conducted a fairly accurate yet simple review of the differences between the two baits and also gave my personal opinion of them. Other opinions may vary, but it’s just a review to share why they are different. Not which one catches more fish. That is up to the fisherman, not the bait.
But yes, criticism is always welcome if it is honest and genuine. ✌️
@TheBassquatchHunter i agree. This guys acting like you should have done this in a scientifically controlled environment or something 😅😅
You'd miss less fish if you didnt use braid and used a glass moderate action rod, wouldnt fish a chatterbait any other way
