Great tips. I had learned the trailer tip, like some already, a couple years ago after hanging up several times. Of course I was throwing a button tail trailer. Now i throw the flat style "Beaver" trailers. Been watching you channel for a while. Great content!! Thanks!!
A certain other bass channel said specifically that you dont need to impart any action with these lures." They are so easy you just reel at a moderate speed" well exactly like you said, others just cast and reel. GLAD you're my go to guy for bass fishing tips. Thanks again buddy
@@raiderswish there are definitely days where bass will hit it just reeling but you can definitely catch more by imparting a little action here and there
Awesome video great information as a bait maker I kind of know a lot about the water arodynamics and when you fish a arkie style head or head that curves upward usually that kind of Chatterbait tends to rise in the water more
I actually used an eEliminator for a trailer. I have been killing it. It gives an exaggerated rocking motion. Great advise and so much information 🤯. Thank you
I want to say, and really didn't learn much from your video, however, it was very informative and well done . I own Lost River Lures, and starting some videos myself. Focusing on the newer anglers, and trying to explain certain factors. I'm certainly going to mention this video in one of mine, instead of covering chatterbaits myself . Just an absolutely fine job young man. Appreciate it. 👍👍
I vary my pause an retrieve on every single Bait an lure. Also as it falls on shallow water 2 to 3 seconds. As it falls tap handle of rod once or twice. Another thing you can yoyo every single bait an lure in 3 segments. Start rod tip a hair above 9 o'clock position then raise rod tip slightly pause 1 to 2 seconds, then raise rod tip again, then pause 2 seconds, then finally up to 10 o'clock position pause 2 seconds an a bass will crush your lure garenteed. Can use the same with lipless crankbaits to keep in one area for a bit yoyo in 3 parts 2 to 3 times before cranking an pausing lipless crank. Fishing lures an soft plastics slightly different in pressured water will get you more bites for sure. I caught 5 bass using a variety of different retrieves an varying pause an retrieves. Fishing this way has helped me catch alot more bass
I don't know how you dont have a half million subscribers! You're channel is awesome. I caught my PB this year after watching your " bank fishing tips: fish the boat launch" video! Thanks for all the great tips/tricks!
Very good video lot of good information appreciate it thanks you may think this is odd but I have never tried that type I will have to pick up a couple of these and give them a try
For me, I still use the outdated Pistol Grip that I have had for 30 years. In fact I'm getting the Tip Guide replaced right now. For me it is Accurate and easy to handle with an old Shamono Bantum TX Mag Reel. It pairs up well. That set up works well with Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits, and Cranks. I go light with 12 Pound Test. And 15 Pound Test for Plastic Worms and Jig Baits. It works for me. For Crappie and Bluegill I go a little heavy with 8 Pound Test because you never know what will hit your Bait. You just need to set your Drag right.
Great video! You definitely need that 7:1 reel for those bites that create that big bow in your line. Those fish hit it and keep coming forward sometimes!
3:36 such a good point, i caught a lets say about 8 cm perch on a 16 gram whopper plopper within the first 5 casts.. the plopper was as big as the fish i caught lol
My PB walleye 31 1/2” came on straight up dead sticking and popping up a chatterbait to n bottom lmao , was on the phone with the ol lady not paying attention just hopping it up and down (2twitch hop) and bam!!dead weight I though it was a stump 🤣 felt one head shake and then dead weight ! Dropped the phone reeled in a giant ! The missus was confused lol still I took a picture and she was speechless an original chatterbait with a “3.8 sightflash keitech hold a special place in my heart lol
Regarding red baits. Crawfish spawn begins early when water temps reach 50. When adult crawfish emerge from burrows they have been filtering zooplankton out of the water to stay alive. But they were underground. Red clay soils will stain crawfish red when they emerge in early spring. So emerging red craws are pretty normal that time of year
I LOVE using micro shatterbait. Also have a case full of modded mini and micro shatterbaits that I have modded and use A-LOT! I dont know why but I catch HUGE bass using the smaller chatterbait at muddy lakes and ponds.
I love the ALX chatterbait rod, it's glass composite but it's not a noodle stilling giving strong hookset and still is sensitive enough. If a bass comes from behind its still hooks em well and stays pinned. The blank is bigger at the bottom but its a lot lighter than a Evergreen rod for a glass rod.
Experiment with it. I've used marker to darken the head of white chatterbait's. I've also added some black stripes to the skirts to make them look at little more fishy.
I wont use anything but the original Chatterbait in my shallow lakes. It's the only 1/4 ouncer they make. It limits the color selection but, the basics are covered. I find the others to be too heavy for shallow water and I have to run them too fast.
Man It’s crazy bc I threw chatter baits for a whole year and never got a bite…. Bc all I did was cast and reel. Not sure when but at some point it became my go to for atleast 1 random bite bc I started erratic retrieves bc I never just reel a chatter bait, or moving bait for that matter. Here lately I have been most of my spinnerbait bites when I give the bait a quick ree and let it drop where I think a bass is. Or on a crank bait when do the same and let it float to the top.
Do you ever throw the rage blade? It is the best chatter bait to throw in wood. I catch a lot of fish on them period! It’s one of my confidence baits. There are times that I can’t get bit on any other chatter bait. It’s underrated.
Amazing bass fishing I love bass fishing I recently did some on my channel FishForDinner my favourite are smallmouth though cause of there hops anyway bud tight lines until next time and keep up those vids!

I am so sure he went and seen people making 5 mistakes on chatterbaits. His tone is monotone word salad then cut, more into the next word salad. Nobody even talks like this. There is no punctuation, just little 11 second clips tied to the next monotone 11 second clip. I was out of breath watching this video and had to dislike cause UA-cam recommended it.
Can I get the model # of the Helios rod and reel? Just found you and I like what I have seen so far. Keep it up as it is a great way to make some $$ LOL Tight Lines
Awesome video..... Am a big fun of this channel..... But i dont have the fishing line.....i wish i could afford one😢😢traditional fishing its all i got.......
homie it's simple, red works in that particular situation because as the water gets colder, minnows die down and stay put near cover, but it takes WAY more than that to stop the crawdads. bass feed on what's around them, so when it's colder, that's crawdads.
So is that one of those composite rods? I keep hearing Iaconelli talk about them in his videos. You get the sensitivity of graphite, but the flex of glass...? Good video 👍
Never thaught I would ever own an Okuma rod or reel, But, because of your vid. I will, this could be the rod ineed for a few techniques, your costing me $ you #&*%@$@)^$, Thanks, now i have to sneak Another rod in the locker ;) Should i stop watching this channel ? No ! keep em coming Bro i appreciate your efforts.
I usually get bit when fishing parallel to the bank and there is wood nearby. The other day I actually had a bluegill hit it just as I was lifting it out of the water. It was a bit smaller than the chatterbait. I think it only grabbed the skirt and then fell off on the bank and rolled back into the water. So weird!
I still have yet to have luck with them as well, broke off my jack hammer and then things got worse from there... Broke my phone trying to use the light on it. Needles to say I had a rough night
bro. That tip on the trailers was so legit about not getting hung up! This is why the channel is sky rocketing.
Not enough people talk about their reasons for using certain trailers. Thank you for being so detailed and informative 👍

I lean in and load up for a bladed jig hookset. It's unlike any other lure's hookset and I think it's the absolute most fun to do
Yea that is really the best hookset, although sometimes when they hit it hard its hard not to crack them
A sweeping motion really does work well. Iv seen tons of guys use it and it seems you land more hook sets

Gotta love the chatterbaits. I call them all chatterbaits. One of my favorite trailers is either a single or double tail yamamoto 3" grub.
Craws are my favorite trailer. Especially any with a twist in the claw

in dirty water around bluegill try black and blue with a green pumpkin trailer, and dip it in chartreuse. It's a killer.

I learned something new, here's my like, thanks for the tips!
Awesome. Wondered difference between chatterbait and bladed jigs. Thought were same.
It’s a matter of copyright
Just started using a chatter bait. This helped a lot. Thank you!
Stealth blade is where it's at for me cuz I fish clear water and it seems to give me more confidence. Jack hammer in a Lil bit dirtier water..
Nice sir…thanks for sharing this idea and video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I do have a chatterbait I haven’t had any luck with it all my catches has been with yums and strike king rage craws those are my go too lures
I've seen where some guys color the blades with magic markers is that something you would recommend or leave them the color the way they come
Experiment with it. I've used marker to darken the head of white chatterbait's. I've also added some black stripes to the skirts to make them look at little more fishy.
Thank you. The Chatterbait is my confidence bait and to hear your tips helps perfect what I love to use.
In the spring when waters reach the “48-65°” crawfish are out spawning
BAM. Great tip
I use 7 foot Quantum smoke rod and reel with 12lbs and 14lbs on my other reel with 7.3:1. Sufix siege mono
Your the man Tyler, I wish we could meet up on Tappan or ohio one day n fish with you be a dream come true!

That has been my go to for a while. Think they work outstanding.

red works good because bass eat cray fish and spring is crayfish seson
Stopping yoyo retrieves at 10 o'clock will help set hook better to get more leverage

Square bills will get bit too if you stop and go retrieve
Put a nikko swimbait on the back of a chatterbait and the chatterbait will wear out before the bait.
