Oh yes, I have heard it - many many times!!!!!!!
In 1972 at the age of 21, I spent one month in hospital (in the isolation ward with a hepatitis brought home from Afghanistan). My mother brought me a music cassette with this concert she recorded from the radio. I used to listen to it almost every morning, eating breakfast and looking out of the window. I loved it!!! (And in the afternoon it was Bob Dylan, The Birds, and so on ...)
Today it came to my mind and I thought: let's see if I find it in you Tube.
Thank you for sharing it here!!
Indeed, both beautiful and I never heard before! 👍
As a violist, pianist, occasional church organist and lover of classical period music I ADORE this. Thank you.
I confess that I feel puzzled by the 33 who may not like this beautiful piece.
One of the loveliest works of one of my favorite music makers. Thank you very much!!!
The last movement is great and I liked the most of the three. Thing with Michael Haydn is that his music is so well integrated and balanced in a good way. It's just good music. Every piece he wrote had a quality and consistency that made him a great composer in my opinion. When you think of other composers such as Frescobaldi who are considered more influential in the history of music than them I feel aggrieved with Michael Haydn and maybe this is his era and he will start to be known now. Sweelinck is another fantastically good composer everyone forgets, Buxtehuede as well I heard a fantastic playing of an organ prelude of his by the Bach foundation in Leipzig wonder stuff Cesar Franck also to as certain extent, and Gounod.
I highly recommend you Carl Stamitz

A hidden treasure...
totally agree
The picture is beautiful. Stained glass is always lovely to look at.
Disliked for lack of spicy salsa

This is truly music, it inspired you, think comes form the heart. Wish and hope will go on for long time to come.
Thank you I have been looking for it for years!!
very Beautiful !!!!!
Another beautiful piece for Viola that I have discovered through UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I've never heard of this composer, nor have I have heard this piece of music before. What a lovely piece of music!
He was Hummel's teacher.
Michael Haydn taught Diabelli and von Weber, among others; Hummel studied with Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Albrechtsberger, and Salieri.
Beautiful music .
Simply beautiful. I know Michael Haydn from its sacred music but I didn't knew this fantastic piece. Thanks for sharing it!
Incredibly beautiful....Indeed how could a mere mortal have written such music !
erg mooi ! particular beautiful !
Divine! Thank you,
Really...never heard before, and even didn`t know that the famous J.H. did have
such a talented brother.....
Nice, positive comments about lite and beautifully clean-sounding music.
thank you for sharing didn't know It sounds wonderful👍💘
Realmente hermoso, Jorge. Muchas gracias
It's an easy "like & subscribe" for this music. Thanks for the satisfying upload.
This is indeed beautiful
Simply Splendid!
!caray!
Beautiful. Thank you for this. It makes you wonder how many other 'Michael Haydns' there are - very good composers who were eclipsed by brilliant composers (or perhaps composers who were less successful in capturing public attention in their day.)
"During his lifetime Michael Haydn was considered a better composer of church music than his brother." Encyclopedia Britannica. Michael was called the better Hayden in his day... At some point, this switched and now all we hear about is Joesph.
This is lovely - what good humoured quirk has paired these two into a double concerto? As an ex viola-player I am on cloud nine (as fluffy and putto-ridden as any Rokkoko-painter can draw it). Thanks so much for sharing
Great music!
This work is brand new to me. Thank you for uploading it.
Back again on Friday the 13th to hear it again :)
lovely !
i like the sound of the organ in this peace
Thank you jorgeloves.
Very nice..
Elegante
This not the work of an also ran in the Austrian musical world. This is a fine concerto full of feeling, elegance and perfectly constructed. How long do we have to wait before Michael Haydn's music enters the mainstream?
+mariandelochs But Joseph is A GENIUS: ua-cam.com/video/QcDv2TUx8bM/v-deo.html
+Anne Amison I concur here, Anne, this is truly 'anointed' music...tis a challenge to investigate Michael Haydn further.....jn
welsh hymns
I disagree.
disagree with what ? (from the 5) ?
Indeed the description enticed me.
also listen to Johann Michael Haydn's requiem: it is beyond! Wolfi Mozart was there as a young boy with the premiere and later he had played it as a violinist at times - so he very much was aquainted with the work at least
BUENAS NOCHES.
Ana Soto GOOD NIGHT
Guten Nacht
el genio olvidado.
Michael Haydn was a close friend of Wolfgang Mozart.
Skitterend, knap!
Magnificent thank u its new t me
People wondering about the lack of popularity for this piece only need to look at the instrumentation. Viola concerto? With organ in there to boot? Am I right?
I like this better then Handel's or F J Haydn's organ concertos.

Stefan Johannes Bleicher, Tabea Zimmermann, Tübinger Kammerorchester, Alexander Sumski (1985)
Someone just asked me about the picture of the stained glass window that appears with this music - I don't see it identified.

To be honest, the organ reminded me of some electronic dubstep i listen to. This piece is beautiful!
I dont think you know what electronic dubstep is.
I don't know why i posted this comment
I prefer this sound to Mozart my type of bucolic
Who is performing?
Stefan Johannes Bleicher, Tabea Zimmermann, Tübinger Kammerorchester, Alexander Sumski (1985)
Which Organ is that in the picture??
Shades of Dittersdorf's violin concerto?
i felt that i was living in a kingdom...
Amazing but maybe misleading title....
why?

No I will NEVER like this obnoxious ad better than the video. I turned it off right after this first sentence. Commercials are such an insult to democracy.
Third Violist missed an F in measure 24, but never mind that.
I don't like you.
; - ))
no horn concerto, no good
VERY POOFY
