Trip out to Lynchburg to visit Historic Sandusky. Home built in 1808 that was used as a Union Headquarters during the Battle of Lynchburg. / va_travels / vatravels
Welcome to Lynchburg. Had I known you were coming, I would have met you with a Brandy toast. The painting of the flag draped coffin on the packet boat Marshall depicts Stonewall Jackson's body as it begins it river journey from Lynchburg to Lexington. The body had arrived in Lynchburg via train from Richmond and is buried in Lexington. Thanks for sharing.
The white rain gutters on the Sandusky house, though probably necessary, seem historically wrong and visually disturbing. Seeing the medical instruments in the museum makes you realize how perilous it was to be seriously wounded in the Civil War. And now Lynchburg is so tranquil...
As always very informative and tastefully done. Thanks. And keep these videos coming.
My old city! So much history in Lynchburg. I visited in a Sunday and they were closed. Thank you for the tour, Chris!
Super awesome
Very cool I need to go there
Great video as always. I grew up near Sandusky, Ohio.
I very much enjoyed this one. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for watching!
