Hello my dear friend. I hope your move goes well. My husband and I and our two dogs have just moved to a new home. We are in our late 60's and it does take a toll. Take it slow. Have some laughs as you are unpacking because it can become quite overwhelming. We are taking our time and only working till 2pm each day then resting up doing the things we love like crafting etc. You have some wonderful WIPS. Look forward to seeing some progress on them. 🌻

Happy Birthday Judy, I love all you show and they are such beautiful works of art completed or not. I can not wait to retire to be able to stitch more than 1/2 hour per every 2/3 days. I am up at 4:15 to go to CrossFit come home get and go to work for 8:30 ( I drive 35-40 minutes to work and take care of a sick husband and watch my 13 year old grandson. My days are long. I hope to be retired by September 2023. Life is hard at 62. Sending my prayers to you all (fur babies too) . God bless and keep on stitching ❤. Love have a great day.

Your project that is cut close on the right side could still be framed. All you need to do is sew a piece of fabric to the side when you are done so there is something to lace to from the back. I totally enjoyed this video! I learned to stitch in 1982, but gave it up in 1989, just before my son was born. I believed that needles and babies didn't mix. I took up stitching again in 2019, after all children were grown and gone and my life had settled down. I regret those missing years when I see a beautiful stash like yours! You have a beautiful legacy! Thank you!
I really like the Santa kit &/or Santa in His Easy Chair. I would finish it. i love Santa's and I do beading and metallic threads. I have lots of metallic threads and beads. Good luck with your move. We, too, are trying to go through our things so our kids don't have to. They don't want our stuff....

Happy birthday! You have so many beautiful pieces! The one you stopped because the fabric was too small to allow for framing- you can just add a strip of regular fabric. When a piece is stretched we only see about 1/2 an inch around the sampler. The other fabric can be used for lacing and no one will ever know. Watch Contented needleworker Kim, she adds fabric to lots of pieces to allow room for her q snaps or framing. Can’t wait to see some of these finished!

I am a new subscriber. I loved seeing those old charts. If you would consider sending Santa to Australia I would love to have him. He is beautiful and I am more than happy to pay for him. I take any charts that are just to small for me to see and get them blown up at a staples store or at a business that has a copier that they can blow things up.

As far as I am concerned, several of your old wips look done, especially the band sampler. I have turned several of my wips into project bags. One of them is a project roll. How beautiful would that band sampler be if you added fabric borders and made a project roll? Amazing that you provided the information for Mary Ann Houghton. I saw that on the wall in a video of The Attic but I didn’t know anything about it. I am especially interested in the houses scene. I’m doing a sampler that needs a replacement for the verse area. I would definitely fan girl you if I came across you. Maybe I can someday at a retreat. 😊 I know how hard it is to move to downsize. We did it in 2021. Once it is over, you’ll look back and wonder how you did it. Also, you won’t regret it at all, I promise.

Your old newly found whips are wonderful!! The sampler that is narrow on one side, you could see a piece of fabric to the edge to give room for the lacing. It looks like there would be enough of the fabric left to go to the edge of the frame.

Seeing all your old WIPs make me sad that I didn't continue stitching when I returned to college in 1982. They're so beautiful. My best wishes for an uneventful move! I had the almost exact experience as you when I moved from Memphis to Mississippi a year after my husband had died. I had two days left on my job, the furniture was already moved to the new house and I was staying in a hotel when the day before closing the sale fell through. I've never been so depressed and would never wish that experience on anyone. Oh, and BTW, I wear red glasses, used to stitch project bags for knitters, and my mother's 100th birthday would have been in July. Maybe we should be besties!

Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a great day! I have been cross stitching for many years (I'm 70) and just do my own thing on 14 or 16 count aida. I take any charts that are just to small for me to see and get them blown up at a staples store or at a business that has a copier that they can blow things up.

As far as I am concerned, several of your old wips look done, especially the band sampler. I have turned several of my wips into project bags. One of them is a project roll. How beautiful would that band sampler be if you added fabric borders and made a project roll?
Amazing that you provided the information for Mary Ann Houghton. I saw that on the wall in a video of The Attic but I didn’t know anything about it. I am especially interested in the houses scene. I’m doing a sampler that needs a replacement for the verse area.

I know how hard it is to move to downsize. We did it in 2021. Once it is over, you’ll look back and wonder how you did it. Also, you won’t regret it at all, I promise.

Your old newly found whips are wonderful!! The sampler that is narrow on one side, you could see a piece of fabric to the edge to give room for the lacing. It looks like there would be enough of the fabric left to go to the edge of the frame.
My framer usually can work with an inch or so, so don’t give up!

Seeing all your old WIPs make me sad that I didn't continue stitching when I returned to college in 1982. They're so beautiful. My best wishes for an uneventful move! I had the almost exact experience as you when I moved from Memphis to Mississippi a year after my husband had died. I had two days left on my job, the furniture was already moved to the new house and I was staying in a hotel when the day before closing the sale fell through. I've never been so depressed and would never wish that experience on anyone. Oh, and BTW, I wear red glasses, used to stitch project bags for knitters, and my mother's 100th birthday would have been in July. Maybe we should be besties!

I, too, have glaucoma and will be having cataract surgery in the next few months so I know what you mean about small charts. I am surprised that you can stitch on 40 count.
