My problem with X-men is that the season is over
Too short it should at least have 20 to 40 .
X-Men books currently have around 10 main books both ongoing and mini series. To help with relaunch for readers to get on a good starting point they are releasing the same amount of books.

This is the reason I gave up on reading comics and why I appreciate what you do with the "full story" video releases.
I get why some would find the pacing a bit much. But I really liked the urgency it put on the season.

@@JamailvanWestering well, no. Because not everything was at that pace. They did take moments to breathe. Until Genosha exploded it was pretty soap heavy. The pacing only really accelerated during moments of conflict. So, the accelerated pacing, when it was used, accented the urgency and panic of the situations
Also, literally anyone with an anxiety condition will confirm for you that everything being urgent in no way makes everything less urgent. That's not how that works even a little

@@JamailvanWestering also no. It simply makes the story feel rushed and incomplete because there's missing context or character development. You're not very good at this.
Just think about movies with pacing that's too fast. You're left with a sense of anxiety trying to keep up for 90+ minutes and a ton of questions and plot holes.
The real problems come when you're expecting the entirety of the Genosha run, or E is for Extinction, or 0 Tolerance or, Fatal Attraction. Which, I think Benny did. Madeline was a big part in the comics. She's not here. She's a C plot. Because in the story being told here she's just not that important. Outside of Magneto, no one in that council was exactly important to the story. So why waste time and money explaining things that simply don't need explaining because those characters are dying in a few seconds anyway. The show adapts X-Men storylines, it doesn't retell them because there's no point. You can already enjoy that story

This is exactly why I stopped collecting in my 20s. It was spending almost 2/3 of my paycheck on comics, and then had to try and explain to my girlfrend-at-the-time why we never did anything fun.

Thankyou Benny!!! Someone said it. There is way too much. Ive been trying to get into the Krakoan Era since like 2022 when Judgement Day came out, but I could never find a simple reading order or recap of events. I saw the other day that there are 727 issues in the whole Krakoan Era. 727! That might not be including Iron Man, or maybe it is. But multiply that by the cost of single comic issues, and you're broke, full stop. Although it may be a great story, 727 comics to read, is just way too much to enjoy it. I've been looking everyone to get recaps of events and where my favourites are during this 5 year Krakoa span like Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, etc, but in order to understand the story for each of them, I'm looking at more than 100 issues for each of them. So i thank you and your team for putting the time in to give us the Fall of X. But in order to understand it fully and read it all, i gotta read the Dawn of X, the Reign of X and the Destiny of X, (the other 3/4 of this Krakoan Era) which will kill me.

Thats just something I made up, but its accurate to what marvel comics has been doing, and its accurate to what the mcu is now doing, and its frustrating because i want to follow the story of characters i like, and not have to watch or read a bunch of stuff in order to understand what is happening
There’s a X-men 97 comic that fills in the blanks of events that happen in between episodes, Benny. The original animated series did the same thing.
Another reason for the faster pace is because they only have ten episodes for this season, compared to the original series which had 13-15 episodes a season, depending on the storyline like phoenix/ dark phoenix. It’s just the cost of the current streaming service business model.

I 100% agree with you on X-Men '97, same positives, same negatives. But I have no clue how the comics work (or don't work apparently). I live in the Netherlands, and they stopped selling 'single issues' over a decade ago. These 'single issues' used to contain 2 or 3 US issues without the ads. Now they bundle complete arcs and storylines into inch thick books, releasing multiple books for longer stories, and eventually releasing a box-set of all the books in the story. Oh, and everything is obviously translated into Dutch.

1:40 I did the exact same thing with my family! New episodes of Batman TAS and Justice League premiered every Friday at 7pm on Cartoon Network with repeats every day at same time so after dinner at 7pm, especially on Fridays, the kids and I would watch Batman/Justice League and cheer.
I bet you also watched Johnny Bravo, PPG, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Back in the day, Cartoon Network on Friday night was 🔥.

You're right. I love X Men 97 but it is moving super fast for me too. Seasons lasted longer in the 90s since folks didnt have that many options back then. Now in the streaming era, it's hard to sell a season with 50 episodes in it

I agree, comics are really hard to follow because they don’t keep a single storyline in one place. It’s broken up, and it breaks apart other stories that are also ongoing.

I feel like this is also my general problem with comic books. I love the characters but the entry point to understanding what’s going on compared with just picking up a novel is astronomical. I’d much rather get those characters from UA-camrs, tv shows/movies, or video games where events are condensed into easier to digest packages. That’s why I’ve been collecting Justice League vs Godzilla vs King Kong, it’s one 7-issue story with characters I love, instead of needing to follow 19 books for 3 years to understand what’s going on.

Magneto and Rogue had a son named Charles in comics, they were having romance for 34 years till 2018. in the show Magneto is 50 and Rogue is less than 40, not a big deal. They ve been through too much pain to be together.

With Marvel and DC this is why I do hardcovers and collections. I don’t buy the monthly floppies anymore. It’s just too expensive. Plus, I also read Manga and other independence occasionally and I watch anime and play video games.

That's why I have a Marvel Unlimited Subscription for $5 a month. You get to read them all. I found Marauders to be one of my favorite books and I would not have read it otherwise.

I'm just going to say how much i appreciate Benny's ADD brain because I could never commit into this much of a deep dive. Honestly this huge event and confusing story line turned me off to X-Men in the main line but I love the ultimate X-Men run because it's a perfect jumping on point.

My problem with X-Men is the US vs them attitude when most mutants born are born to non mutants. The message SHOULD be that mutants and non mutants are all still human.
I think that’s the narrative conflict within the marvel mutant community isn’t it? Some see it as Us vs them and others don’t see it that way

X-men came on Saturday mornings in the 90s. Also seasons in the 90s had way more episodes and more cheaply made so they had more time flush things out
