Did same but honestly the acting was really bad back then. Skipped 3 shows because how dumb they were also. The fat alien in chair. Was like hell naw and skipped lol
Allegedly, the 6th Season of Spiderman Tas would’ve continued in England. With Carnage as Jack the Ripper. So many unfinished storylines like the Mary Jane clone, Venom and Dormamu etc
I think Stryfe will have a big role to play in the second half of S2. They are bringing in a lot of the Summers and he connects to Apocalypse as a potential vessel.
One of the few channels I've seen that interprets the Fatal Attractions lead up to the coming of Onslaught in the right context of the show. Ep.10 wasn't a fake out, it was a deliberate recognition that if Onslaught begins here, that doesn't mean he's meant to appear in the same episode. I expect him to be a second villain of Season 2. Probably with hints of something being wrong with Xavier for the first half of the season, then being a fully realized antagonist for the second half.
Imo, when the XMen saved Earth before getting sucked in a time warp, the timeline was split into two; from the Summers finding Nathan in the dystopian future up to the remaining cast encountered the young Apocalypse in ancient Egypt. Bastion went hard and said "You can't win against the future." But if he won that (and should've been), then you have the Future Xmen Freedom Fighters consist of Cable, Forge and the other surviving mutants.
i was surprised Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix or Age of Apocalypse wasn’t mentioned. The scene at the end of ep 10 when jean and scott first appear in the future was as almost exactly what happens in issue #1 of their series. i don’t feel like you can have a proper onslaught arc without nate grey (maybe it’s just cause he’s one of my all time favorites) so i think it’d make perfect sense for all the ongoing arcs that were setup to converge into an Age of Apocalypse adaptation. that’s what i’m hoping for at least 😂
There are a couple of things that I think they subtly set up. One was an appearance of Vulcan. They yet to discuss the fact that havoc is Scott’s brother. Deadly genesis would be a great way to not just pay that off but to bring a lot of other things to the forefront. Because how that whole thing went down, that was a huge catalyst for cyclops falling out with Professor X. Another key point that I saw and you would’ve missed it if you blinked , Was appearance of Reverend Stryker. That was something I didn’t expect. I know they want to do an X-Men movie, and at this point after seeing episode five, I think they have the guts to do. The God loves/man kills storyline. That’s my two cents. Everything else named was very on point.
I also think that they could also be hinting to a Cassandra Nova debut since she claims to be the one who gave Emma Frost her diamond hardening mutant power and we saw the manifest when they found her under the Genosha ruble
You Forgot it, You Forgot Cyclops & Phoenix Mini-series. Where Scott and Jean Travel to the future and met a very young Nethanl/Cable. With Rachel as mother A, I don't belive it.
1. Gambit as Death 2. Onslaught 3. Clan Askani 4. Heroes Reborn (but twisted to a MCU without X-Men) 5. Kang the conqueror 6. Wolverine as War 7. Bringing together X-Factor (Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch, Havoc, Strong Guy, Polaris, Angel) 8. Jubilee the vampire 9. Cassandra Nova 10. A link to the MCU via a secret wars tie in. Some of these are obvious. Some are good educated guesses. Some are wild predictions
Just o add to the point on Onslaught - Xavier and Magneto explicitly discuss how attempting to hijack minds can cause them to break and merge - I was actually surprised that onslaught wasn’t more explicitly mentioned by the end of the episode
I don't know what will happen in S2, but I think the way they underused Wolverine was a horrible. Underusing him to balance him being overused in other media is just bad writing. Ripping the adamantium off his bones doesn't cause feral Wolverine so I don't think we will get that. At least I hope not. THat is NOT why he went feral after all. Personally I think maybe they will skip it all and just speed trhough ti.. I mean, the biggest problem with '97 was that they sped through shit. So it seems normal to me that they will just speed through shit here too and give Wolverine the adamantium back and make him the Horsemen of War instead of Death. I don't know though.. we'll see.
I was thinking how cool it would be to see the house of M story arc adapted into animation. Could you imagine hearing “No More Mutants” out loud then seeing majority of them being wiped out? Chills
The only thing I’m looking forward in season 2 are both Gambit and Wolverine becoming the new Riders of Death and War. Oh and Rogue finally breaking up with Magneto similar to how Heidi broke up with Cartman in South Park.
I know I’m late to the comments but I’d like to see some characters/moments: 1. The creation of X-Force, now, it’s a bit too soon but I feel like sometime when the series ends, it could set up Wolverine, Warren (Archangel), Psylocke, Deadpool, Fantomex and more. 2. Deadpool returning (full character and not just a Morph thing) and Archangel too, I wanna see the formation X-Force and have them be first recruited and then Psylocke and more 3. Gambit becomes Death (reminds me of Ultimate Alliance 2 and My Chemical Romance) 4. Wolverine having a son (whom is Daken, not possible or so but who knows) 5. Seeing more of the other Marvel Heroes and Villains outside the X-Men not just as cameos but for a bit of team ups like with Captain America and Rogue
The already addressed storylines in the Fox series like Psylocke's second origin won't be revisited again. The hand waved it away with some cryptic images in Season 1. This is a kids cartoon. Complex stories won't register in a 6 year old's brain
Don't forget with all this apocalypse fan-fare, that the major x-over events in era that were not already hastily smashed into `97 were The Phalanx Covenant and The Age of Apocalypse. As of now we still don't know why the X-Men time-blipped at the end of `97, so they could really easily tie in AoA the same way, revealing that somebody was blipped back to the old days and decided to off Magneto early for the sake of the future, getting Charles instead of course, triggering the AoA for I'm guessing maybe one (two at most) episodes, since there's basically no pacing involved. Slim and Red in "The Adventures of Cyclops and Jean Grey," though not exactly as it was in the comics, seems to point to it pretty neatly at any rate. It means a continuation of their story with Cable, and setting up for Xcutioner's Song stuff, namely it gives them a chance to show Nathan being cloned in the future, so that the Stryfe character has context. Yes, of course the Onslaught thing. Fatal Attractions set that up. But at the same time, they retconned, they hedged. In `97, Charles did not wipe Magneto's mind for ripping the adamantium from Logan; Xavier did not mentally absorb Magneto, leading to an amalgam villain. But they seem to still be going there. Charles did try to "cure" Eric's mind, and we will probably learn later on down the road that he did that by "taking away" some of his burdens, which will serve to corrupt Charles, leading him to eventually spawn off the Onslaught entity. I think the way this probably proceeds is in the S2 finale, where surprisingly the team is met with defeat against Apocalypse, and we need another Phoenix event to turn the tide. Except this time, we get the mutant equivalent of the bigger dino conveniently (and forebodingly) eating the menacing T-Rex for us, when Charles determination is met with a yielding doubt, and Onslaught is released, to immediately punk Apocalypse. Since they'd have spent the whole season building up how bad Apocalypse is, having him suddenly spanked by Onslaught will provide a poignant statement about how big of a problem he represents to the world, and a solid cliff-hanger for whatever's next. Of course that all presupposes pacing and storytelling methods that really weren't there in season one, so it's probably all wishful thinking. It'll probably be rushed in and rushed out while incorporating 17 other arcs instead, and while giving up airtime to, I don't know, another arcade game or something. My hope is that season one of `97 is not telling of how they're going to approach stories in the future, but instead was a necessity of rushing in many elements in order to hastily set up for the story they really wanted to tell afterward. That the whole thing was basically just a preamble. That's my best hope for it, the best excuse for all the rushing and corner cutting. Hopefully we can finally get to a place where they can tell one story and tell it well. I doubt it, though.
the pace is too fast throughout the show. woulda been nice to have have epic moments slowed down and savor the moment. for example when magneto came into his master power and sent an electromagnetic blast through the whole earth. black fade outs and fade ins woulda shown some importance between scenes as well. just a thought. otherwise i did enjoy the show like i did in the 90s as a kid.
Since you did the history of Midnight Man, Are you going to do history of other Moon Knight villains like Arthur Harrow, Shadow Knight, Bushman, the Zodiac Cartel, Stained Glass Scarlet, Moon_Shade and the Sun-King?
what I would love to see is like a multi-part Age of Apocalypse animated movie, yeah it would be time consuming surely but it would be awesome to see it go down in movie form💯🤞🏻 either way seeing Apocalypse and potentially Onslaught will be awesome
Can you do history of the Elementals, Cyclone and Sandman along with Kurt Conners the Lizard, Rhino, Chameleon, Scorpion and the Human Fly along with the Tinkerer, Alistair Smythe the Ultimate Spider Slayer, Living_Brain, and Prowler?
We got a good fight between Magneto and Doctor Doom in House of M. They teased him in the first season they need to bring him in and have him be a threat.
1996.06 was an Adventure of the XMen comic focused around magneto vs apocalypse where magneto saves america from nuclear missiles launched by apocalypse.
So how long till you do history of Arno_Stark Iron Man, Ezekiel Stane, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, War Machine and Pepper Potts AKA Rescue?
My feelings are that any attempt to guess what the X-men '97 team will do is futile as they have proven to be willing to take all our expectations and turn them on their heads.
@AifDaimon that's what I thought. Pretty sure killing her off so early on might lead into that at some point I assume. Maybe she helps gamit from not being the horsemen of death? Idk

3:27 “Kangle”! You missed a great dad pun there. I have no children.
I loved X-Men 97 and watched X-Men tas for the first tim in prep for X-Men 97 and the whole experience was great
Now if Spider-Man 98 is announced I will lose my shit bcz i used to watch Spider-Man tas religiously and loved it so muchhh and i have so much nostalgia for it
Did same but honestly the acting was really bad back then.
Mr sinister is at the end the controlling winner and the ultimate apocalypse killer
X-Men 97 was a 9.5/10 for me personally! I loved it!
💯
For me its a 9.8 its nearly perfect mojo ep was good but not amazing so it drop it a little bit.
I think Stryfe will have a big role to play in the second half of S2. They are bringing in a lot of the Summers and he connects to Apocalypse as a potential vessel.
This is the version of my beloved characters I know and love best.
I'm ready for season 2 and wave 3 of Marvel Legends X-Men 97 figures.
Onslaught Saga
Emperor Vulcan
Askani Son
Age of Apocalypse
House of M
Etc. So many possibilities!!
They better not speed run thru all these arc's and pull a Game of Thrones and run out of material too fast
@mroctober3583 Yeah they should treat at least one of those stories like they did with the Phoenix saga from the original series.
@@mroctober3583u speak it unto existence and when it happens it’s ur doings.
Actually, it's Blood Of Apocalypse not Age Of Apocalypse
@mroctober3583 I hope that with the success of Xmen 97 that Disney greenlights more episodes for the 2nd season and possibly longer run times.....
Man I’m super excited with this series I hope they deliver
Hope they make a season 3 with Onslaught.
It makes sense
One of the few channels I've seen that interprets the Fatal Attractions lead up to the coming of Onslaught in the right context of the show. Ep.10 wasn't a fake out, it was a deliberate recognition that if Onslaught begins here, that doesn't mean he's meant to appear in the same episode. I expect him to be a second villain of Season 2. Probably with hints of something being wrong with Xavier for the first half of the season, then being a fully realized antagonist for the second half.
Great review as always Tony! My kid got hooked on your channel thru the recaps. And she kept asking me about episodes 9 & 10 😅😅
The red vials are like Apocalypse's own "evil Communion".
i was surprised Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix or Age of Apocalypse wasn’t mentioned.
This is where the fun begins..
Very possible.
i love it how they used Sinister to portray the fact that Trask's DNA is needed to control sentinels
You Forgot it, You Forgot Cyclops & Phoenix Mini-series. Where Scott and Jean Travel to the future and met a very young Nethanl/Cable. With Rachel as mother A, I don't belive it.
i was surprised too when they first pop up in the future at the end of ep 10 is almost exactly what happens in issue #1 of that run 😂
Funny thing is, Rachel did end up having a son of her own with Franklin Richards: Jonathan aka Hyperstorm.
1. Gambit as Death
2. Onslaught
3. Clan Askani
4. Heroes Reborn (but twisted to a MCU without X-Men)
5. Kang the conqueror
6. Wolverine as War
7. Bringing together X-Factor (Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch, Havoc, Strong Guy, Polaris, Angel)
8. Jubilee the vampire
9. Cassandra Nova
That really can work a ton of wonders ❤❤❤❤❤
Chills
hope they show storms connection with eye of agamotto and her linage to second sorcerer supreme and the red ruby in her costume
The only thing I’m looking forward in season 2 are both Gambit and Wolverine becoming the new Riders of Death and War. Oh and Rogue finally breaking up with Magneto similar to how Heidi broke up with Cartman in South Park.
Cant wait for season 2
When start?
I sure hope Storm doesn't fade into the background.
How Mother Askani has PHX force and not defeat En Sabah Nur?
Rache is in the future, Apoca'pops is in the past
When Magneto get back,A mutant who losse his or her human family by his attack should fight him.
X-man 97 was freaking awesome 🔥🔥
Storm in x men she reminds me of sindel and Raiden on mortal Kombat.
Psylocke was a major character in the 90s X-Men comics. She's not even on Forge poster of heroes.
As always GOOD content 💯.
I would make a spin of feral wolverine series. In between season 1 and 2 or 2 and 3. Also, give us 90s Spider-Man.
That’s a ride we’d get on.
I know I’m late to the comments but I’d like to see some characters/moments:
1. The creation of X-Force, now, it’s a bit too soon but I feel like sometime when the series ends, it could set up Wolverine, Warren (Archangel), Psylocke, Deadpool, Fantomex and more.
2. Deadpool returning (full character and not just a Morph thing) and Archangel too, I wanna see the formation X-Force and have them be first recruited and then Psylocke and more
3. Gambit becomes Death (reminds me of Ultimate Alliance 2 and My Chemical Romance)
4. Wolverine having a son (whom is Daken, not possible or so but who knows)
Complex stories won't register in a 6 year old's brain
x-men mesh shorts are tough!!!.. where can i buy?
Just to point out a cameo most missed in the original xmen beyond good and evil, bender ended up being immortus; another version of Kang
I wonder what happened to Wolverine & storm
Future.
And morph
All going to be horsemen
Finally, someone who made sense
Ok so can someone explain how jubilee didn’t die when she fell through space and sunspot caught her in the last episode?
When will the second season be updated
This was my era of comics
Please talk about Jubilee and her reading recommendations! She's the best in the 90s ensemble!
WE WANT A PODCAST ON X-MEN 97
I just want to see more characters like quicksilver, collusus and more
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
Yeah needed more episodes
Since you did the history of Midnight Man, Are you going to do history of other Moon Knight villains like Arthur Harrow, Shadow Knight, Bushman, the Zodiac Cartel, Stained Glass Scarlet, Moon_Shade and the Sun-King?
what I would love to see is like a multi-part Age of Apocalypse animated movie, yeah it would be time consuming surely but it would be awesome to see it go down in movie form💯🤞🏻
either way seeing Apocalypse and potentially Onslaught will be awesome
I hope we're about to see "age of apocalypse" storyline.❤❤❤
My feelings are that any attempt to guess what the X-men '97 team will do is futile as they have proven to be willing to take all our expectations and turn them on their heads.
Fair. Still a fun conversation. 😎
Was there gunna be a 3rd part of the Dceased?
Yes. Coming in the next two weeks.
How long till you do history of the Thunderbolts and the Young Avengers since they're slowly forming in the MCU?
Are you saying that on season 2 we will see Onslaught? And so many more old and new faces. Hey, do you think the Goblin Queen is still alive or dead?
Possibly in Limbo, since she made a deal with one of the demons there
Didnt she rule a part of hell at some point?
@@cngotham4111 she did in the comics, after Magik stepped down iirc
@AifDaimon that's what I thought. Pretty sure killing her off so early on might lead into that at some point I assume. Maybe she helps gamit from not being the horsemen of death? Idk
Can you do history of the characters mentioned in this video?
I think the show is setting up Vulcan's arc and the Krokoan age.
Holy cow, x comics before the 2000s were just on a whole other level of cool that just never came back. the x-men really lost their x-factor after the 2000s and were never as cool again.
Clearly you've never read the Krakoa period 😭
They've always been cool other than the grant morrison run.
@@asssassyn it was fine just doesnt have that omega level cool factor of the classic X-men that just make you wanna instantly draw or get an action figure of them.
Speak for yourself
Trippin. They’re good but past 2000’s is good too. Xmen is just good.
Nice.
Feige should’ve gave us a Rise of Apocalypse Origin Movie with Kang as the Villain
It better that X-men ‘97 focussed on the entire team, and not always about Wolverine. More Cable back story with x-force and Strife is needed.
I think there's a possibility to adapt also the adventures of Cyclops and phoenix.
will iceman colossus n psylocke be part of the group?
What would happen if we saw Apocalypse turning Wolverine and Storm into his horsemen in this upcoming season while the other X-Men are lost in time?
I wonder if X-Men 97 will adapt the Old Man Logan storyline that’d be something.
I hope not, Logan killing all the X-Men was fucking dumb
@@retrohero2762 They could set it up as an alternate future like how it is in the comics.
Too early for all that bruh
They should bring out xforce as season 2 or as a spin off show on its own till season 3 ;)
