I am an ENFP-T Female , software engineer for 16 years . I love it , and I enjoy movies to calm me , and painting , gardening , meeting friends and parents to energize.
As a software engineer do you get enough time to be a little volatile if you need it? To space out and do what you need to release these negative thoughts when they come. I just discovered im an ENFP-T and I'm looking to make the right changes to work with my self and not against. Thanks
This one has to be one of my favorite videos from you! I completely agree anytime I take a big risk without thinking too much into it, it always works itself out and boost my confidence. Others around me also feel inspired by my actions. When I take baby steps I never completely follow through it leaves too much opportunity for me to procrastinate and eventually never complete the goal.
On volatility - if it's decent late, and I start thinking those negative thoughts and things like that, I'll just say "whelp, I guess it's time for bed". It's way better to get a good night's rest and then tackle the issue when you feel better in the morning than it is to spin your gears all night and wake up strung out
I do the same or if its too bright outside I'll just go for a run or hike until i have completely emptied out the tank. I find getting out the gas and energy keeps me from doing anything with these negative thoughts.
The T aspect of life is like a thorn in my side. When you said, "setbacks", I found it a very encouraging way to move forward. So, now I'm going to jump in the pool!!! Thank you so much, I mean really.
Thank you Dan, for your awesome content. As a person with a menstrual cycle...it can be very difficult at some days..or even a whole week....every month. Haha..haha.....ha.
ok, so you touched a moment on childhood. I took the test and it said ENFP-T. What about having a very abusive childhood, and abusive early 20s. I was diagnosed with PTSD before anyone even knew what it was. helpful your videos are either way. I moved all time, airforce, Germany, Hawaii etc
It can kind of falsify your results. Lot of ENFPs for example thought they were introverted. But this might be due to trauma or adapting to abusive parents. My mother always told me when I was little, that people a mean and bad. Lol. But how I perceive the world changed the more I made own new experiences. And became almost as bubbly and cheeky again as I was as a little kid. 😊 (I know now that I can trust my gut with people)
Ha! I laughed out loud at the Kindergarten bit because I am a preschool teacher 🤣 What saves me is nap time and therapy. So hoping that therapy would change me but is the "volatile" inherent?
I’ve been told forever I’d make an amazing teacher but I know better yeah I’m good with kids for a little bit then I get frustrated and don’t wanna deal anymore so I know I would’ve made a terrible teacher I’m happy being a mom good enough Lmaooo
No, the -T or -A can develop as he said he was far more volatile as child or when he eats rubbish. I myself am more stable then a was few years ago. And I'm more stable without my toxic ex-partner 😉
1:20 reminds me of "why I shouldn't pick a boyfriend when I'm drunk" 😂 which is probably what I should have known earlier in life. Seriously though, his last piece of advice about food and exercise is super valuable. I'd say weight management too, as in how we feel/think in our bodies depending on how much we weigh but maybe that's just me. On another note, even though I watched this in 2x speed like I always do, I think I might finally understand why some people find it a bit hard to follow when I talk to them for a while. Like, they lose their drift? I'm a fellow green eyed ENFP T, looking into your eyes while you speak did that to me too lol what's up with that!? 😅
Jordan Peterson has a paid test for this. I'm going to do a contest on Instagram later this month where I give away some codes to take it. Https://instagram.com/thedanjohnston
UGHHHHHH I love your videos THEYRE SO FREAKING HELPFULLLL!!! Whenever I get in my funky moods like as long as I do something new I instantly feel better 😍😍😍🥰
When I took the test in the 16 personalities channel and I actually got an accurate result of ENFP (which test like damn it is not very accurate, the first time I took it it told me I was an istj and I believed that for about a year even thought I couldnt relate to most of it) I got 96% turbulent. #RIP
Big help for me Dan I have a client project and went into panic mood which means no real work being done lol. I will have to join your coacing program once I have some extra cash! Thank you so much for all your hardwork for us wild enfps lol
Hiya, ENFP-T that scores high in withdrawal and low in volatility here. Some thoughts: I'm not afraid of the unknown, I'll try anything once, it's that I have a neurotic fear of regret. It's the same force that drives FOMO (fear of missing out), except it's debilitating to the point of not knowing what to order off a menu, or not ever wanting to move out of the current house I'm in. Why take the risk of living with regret? 😅
baby steps, ok ...but new things are so terrifying. Ok, probably contributed to my divorce. My assistance on Husband going with me for a dry run, when I had to pick up my mom and brother at Hawaii airport. He couldn't. Then again, after divorce, home town again, the tears and fight with my brother over a car inspection. He wouldn't do it, said he would go with me, I had to learn. I was 49. Had never done one. but after that I am so good at doing that, it wasn't anything to be afraid of, I just didnt know the rules.
Wow, really good advice here. I've previously done a carnivore diet, and while I lost weight and improved my diabetes, I was quite exhausted and longed for the odd slice of bread and banana. Cancelled my news app service just now. Do you eat a vegetarian diet the LCHF way, or is meat a part of your diet? I don't know if I could ever quit chicken wings and beef fillet. Nom!
@@joshuawoodfolk8202 Are you sure? What I got from it was that he was ENFP-T, but instead of being one that was high in neuroticism, he was high in volatility.

Advice from an INTJ: I'd recommend that you look into the cognitive functions. (Also, Enneagram, although that isn't technically MBTI.) ☺️
