Honestly, this is my favourite meal prep video! I love that they're freezer friendly and so I'm not forced to eat the same thing every day that week. I usually use a little less chicken and sub for another tin of beans and it's so filling. Thank you!
I usually don't comment on recipe videos but I just made this and this is the single best burrito filling I've tasted in my entire life, I am absolutely floored! And I thought that the one burrito I wrapped for immediate consumption wasn't going to be enough and I'd accidentally eat all my week's dinners but not only is it delicious but it's also _extremely_ filling for the deceptively small size of what could fit in a store-bought whole wheat tortilla. In just one try, this has become my absolute favourite meal for controlling my insulin-driven evening cravings 😍 thank you for sharing this recipe!

Yo I made this and it instantly went into my saved recipe journal. I've made them twice now, mainly so my girlfriend has something she can have for lunch at work. I've only tried two because of that reason 😅 but they are very good.
Brother you out a burrito, everybody in this comment section is without a girlfriend (and taking notes) Remember, gents: you can't bribe love, but you can sure as fuck lure it in with cheese and beans
I made this. Honestly, it was really easy and only took about an hour. It's great how filling these are, I usually eat massive meals of chicken and rice to fill me up for lunch and dinner, but these are surprisingly filling. The biggest cost for me was the spices, but since I have them now, it'll probably cost about $20 AUD to get more tortillas, chicken, beans, canned tomato sauce and the capsicum. For 6 meals, that's not bad at all. Thanks for the video mate
7:59 Make sure you're placing it offset, not right in the very center of the microwave. Also consider lowering thw power to 80-90 instead of running it full blast, which is best reserved for heating liquids to a boil and ends up overcooking anything already cooked. Or you know, just hit the reheat button which will cycle the power level for you for more even heating.
Absolutely love this recipe. I made it vegetarian using extra firm tofu in place of chicken to fit my diet and they are so yummy. These are becoming an instant staple food for this gal. I also added a few tablespoons of nutritional yeast powder and it had no ill effect on the flavor as it can with some dishes. 10/10 recipe with so much room for changes for personal preference.
Tried these several times now, gotta follow the steps in order for the flavours to mix together properly, I added beans and seasoning after the chicken and it doesn't take the flavour as well.
I made 'em. They're great, the only hard part was not gobbling up all the filling before I made the burritos, and then not gobbling up all the burritos before they went in the fridge. I also used fresh sauteed onion in mine.
Thanks for this! I'm making these for my dad, he's got the bad tendency to not sit down because of his job and just eating a bag of chips all day and this should end, quick foods like these are a good start.
These are soooo good. They're easy to make and all the ingredients are pretty basic and accessible, which I really like... store's not likely to be out of bell peppers and canned beans etc, y'know? I also like how this recipe can inspire other thinking... like hey, what if I threw in some other type of meat or veg or something? They're a good jumping off point that I think is really great and approachable. Great job! These reheat so nicely, too. My boyfriend and I toss them in the microwave to defrost and then crisp up the tortilla in a pan on the stove. Would love to see if you have any other ideas for frozen meal prep!
I happy you decided to give the recipe a try, and I appreciate your honest review! I’m also interested in making more freezer meals, so certainly more related content to come.

Another criticism: Just put the filling into the glass fixture and let it cool via room temperature. If you put it straight in the fridge (albeit a half-assed "hold" dug out) you're going to severely raise the overall temp of the internals of your fridge. Just let it set out and naturally cool. i feel like if you're going to be making a meal prep kind of portion and eating them often, id definitely argue for shredding your own cheese if you can be bothered, it makes a difference! though it is sometimes hard to find low moisture part skim mozzarella not pre-shredded in some places, and it does kinda go against the simplicity of it all. regardless they look great!
This is the most undersubscribed channel I’ve ever seen, awesome recipe, easy to follow and good video overall. Burritos have perfect macros, and this is probably the best meal prep burrito I’ve ever seen. Cream cheese and mozza? Subbed

Fun fact, if you buy a spice labeled “chili powder” it’s more than likely going to be a blend of different types of chilis, each brand is different so unless your looking for a specific flavor profile and or taste, chili powder is fine. Also if you grab a brand and read what goes into it, it should say what blend they use for their mix.

Man >< You really know how to sell it. The flavors were literally dripping from my screen, my keyboard got all wet and nearly shortfused like a back to the future experiment
I've done two batches of these already. They turned out great but I wondered if there's a better way to handle the pan where I sear then in. The pan always gets a bunch of baked oil around the outside which takes a lot of effort to clean off. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way to sear 20 to 30 burritos without making the pan super hard to clean up?
This has become a staple for our family. I cook the chicken first then use the same unwashed pan to heat everything else while I dice the chicken to add back in-much more flavor that way. I sub the cheeses you suggest for goat cheese and it has that same tongue coat feel. Thanks so much ❤❤❤

Next time def gonna get the peppers and just follow your amount of spices and see if it needs any more for my taste. Also I added tofu and it sorta blended with the beans because it was very soft so the taste is barely noticeable. Next time also firm tofu although I might try it with the chicken too to see if it's any different. I'm not vegetarian but actively trying to not add more meat to my diet. Also your technique of wrapping a burrito was really easy:)
Thank you for the burrito cooking template, even me who burns everything i cook could make this easily with minimal effort and a mit of mis on place. Thank you and have a great day!
You should use fresh onion and fresh garlic and a mature cheddar cheese, other than that i make something similar and have done for 10 years, a line of chick-fil-a sauce adds to the flavour by countering the spice a little.
I just made this and it was FANTASTIC. Definitely adding it to my UA-cam tried and true recipe list so I don’t have to keep searching for your name + burrito 😂
looks delicious, I will try this soon. maybe add some cherry tomatoes and corn in the mix to mine. having a tasty meal like this at the ready in the freezer is a blessing
Fantastic recipe. I would wrap in parchment then foil, no ziplocks. Saves a bit of money, and helps keep a good shape. You can heat in the oven that way or toaster oven if you have time for a change and a nice toast. Cheers
Stoked to see your channel growing so rapidly, new sub from me :) Love seeing the comment from a month ago "how do you only have 38 subs?" only to see that you have almost 3k now. Definitely going to try this recipe of yours first!
Much appreciated, man! And, yeah, it’s absolutely wild to me, too! Almost 4K now and I can’t believe it. I’m about numb from the excitement. Let me know what you think of it! ✌️
You could use the liquid from the can of beans instead of dumping it out and replacing it with water. If you cook that liquid down, it gives a nice creamy consistency and it also has some flavor and at least more protein than water. Probably you need a little more liquid than you add water, as it's thickening pretty fast. No real criticism, more of a "just saying" thing. Looking great otherwise, except of the cilantro. I've got the gene that tells me to hate the stuff. OR6A2 if anyone wants to look it up. Actually very interesting.
so i might just be youtube homecook brainwashed, but i learned that color equals flavor, so sautéing the veggies in the beginning might be a good idea regardless of how much cheesy good stuff is around them, just for that 5% improvement Or does the sauce do something to the sautéing that renders it irrelevant
oh hey, nice to see someone blessed by the algorithm so early. Can't wait to brag about how I saw your videos when then had less than 20k views, and you had less than 1k subs.
I tried this out, good stuff man. I suggest you do an update after messing around with the recipe a while. A whole can of tomato sauce (medium sized) was a bit too much. A much better sauce could be made with a little extra attention and would make these things fuggin perfect. Próst
Love all the spices! Going to try this with just the beans as I have a family history of Cancer and need to avoid the estrogen in dairy and igf-1 in meat---thanks for posting
This buritto looks thick enough where its not going to fly out but if you tuck in the middle of the burrito it will seal better for more liquidy burittos.
Thank you! I’d guess 1/4-1/2 cup of cooked rice per burrito should work well. Just depends on how much you’d want and how much you could fit. Let me know if you try!
Good lord did these turn out well! Wish I knew this recipe years ago... Thanks for the recipe. Oh, and I had a roll of butcher paper around from wrapping barbecue and used that instead of parchment paper. Worked a treat and it was cheaper, I suspect. Kept the burritos rolled up in it and froze them in a single layer on a cookie sheet , then into the zip-lock bag in their paper wrapping. Microwaved them in the paper, unwrapped, and ate. Yummm!
Trying your recipe tonight with a few modifications, as I have time to "do it right" and am sure that my extra steps will boost flavor: to wit, brown your chicken breasts well, season and simmer til tender, shred them, and then add all the other ingredients. (Peppers and such get sauted separately and are added to the shredded chicken with everything else.) I am sure this will make the filling even better than what you are advising -- though of course those short on time should just use whatever cooked chicken or other meat or veggies they have on hand. Also: I'm intrigued by the addition of Laughing Cow -- I had never heard of it but see that it's widely recommended for burrito filling and was glad to (eventually!) find it in my rather provincial grocery store. Thank you, Ethan, for the recipe, tips, and encouragement! I am making 12 burritos tonight and fully anticipate that I will have convenient, delicious, and nutritious lunches for at least the next three weeks!
Made these yesterday, they are very good. Do you have any tips for making the cooked cubed chicken? I fried and cubed mine but that was time consuming... wondering if baking might save some effort

Nice vid! The algorithm just recommended me this. The food looks great and your production value is stellar for a UA-camr of your size 😃
you are truly the combination of all of cooking youtube from the last 6 years this is crazy
That is such a huge compliment! You think that sentiment still holds true in my newer videos?
Thank you for the burrito cooking template, even me who burns everything i cook could make this easily with minimal effort and a mit of mis on place. Thank you and have a great day!
You should use fresh onion and fresh garlic and a mature cheddar cheese, other than that i make something similar and have done for 10 years, a line of chick-fil-a sauce adds to the flavour by countering the spice a little.
I just made this and it was FANTASTIC. Definitely adding it to my UA-cam tried and true recipe list so I don’t have to keep searching for your name + burrito 😂
Excellent! Honored that it made it to your list!
✌️
This is a good and easy recipe to freestyle and add variations over (lentils, or different beans), additional protein, and cheese of choice. Awesome.
My intention exactly! Glad you enjoy it ✌️
@@ethanpaff Update, I just made these with the tortilla recipe, using ground turkey came out great and was easy to prepare!
That’s fantastic! I’m glad you enjoyed them! Now you have an easy, tasty go-to freezer meal recipe anytime you need it.
✌️
looks delicious, I will try this soon. maybe add some cherry tomatoes and corn in the mix to mine. having a tasty meal like this at the ready in the freezer is a blessing
i just made it i added some rice and minced turkey, love it
Fantastic recipe. I would wrap in parchment then foil, no ziplocks. Saves a bit of money, and helps keep a good shape. You can heat in the oven that way or toaster oven if you have time for a change and a nice toast. Cheers
1:02 your subtle direction for me to subscribe worked!
Happy to have you! 😁
✌️
6.5k now! doubled in just over a week! indredible
Those look delicious!! Never thought of using laughing cow cheese. Can’t wait to try!
so i might just be youtube homecook brainwashed, but i learned that color equals flavor, so sautéing the veggies in the beginning might be a good idea regardless of how much cheesy good stuff is around them, just for that 5% improvement
Or does the sauce do something to the sautéing that renders it irrelevant
oh hey, nice to see someone blessed by the algorithm so early. Can't wait to brag about how I saw your videos when then had less than 20k views, and you had less than 1k subs.
Hehe 😜 thank you!
I tried this out, good stuff man. I suggest you do an update after messing around with the recipe a while. A whole can of tomato sauce (medium sized) was a bit too much. A much better sauce could be made with a little extra attention and would make these things fuggin perfect. Próst
Ok I hate beans, but I tried this, pureed the beans to hide them in the flavors, and these were delicious!
I like your use of the scale as a measurement for how much filling to use. I’m going to steal that idea, lol.
Love all the spices! Going to try this with just the beans as I have a family history of Cancer and need to avoid the estrogen in dairy and igf-1 in meat---thanks for posting
Thank you for watching!
I would definitely add another can or two of beans in that case. Maybe rice, too. Vegan cheese if you eat that.
✌️
Thank you for the video. Good job! Where did you get the round cutting board?
Man ur meals r top notch. Keep up the banger videos!
I ain’t stoppin! ❤️
✌️
I need these in my life
This buritto looks thick enough where its not going to fly out but if you tuck in the middle of the burrito it will seal better for more liquidy burittos.
these look phenomenal if you were to add rice instead of beans how much would you add any suggestions?
Thank you! I’d guess 1/4-1/2 cup of cooked rice per burrito should work well. Just depends on how much you’d want and how much you could fit.
Let me know if you try!
I just made these today they're incredible
This looks delicious! Any recommendations on what to swap in to make this vegetarian?
Oh, tofu for sure would be a great alternative! Or any fake chicken stuff. Seitan would be good too. Otherwise, just beans 🫘
Definitely trying out your recipe next time I’m craving burritos
Let me know how it goes! ✌️
Production values are on point.
Thank you ❤️
next vid measure out spices into some small clear bowls before hand, makes for cleaner vid, keep up the good work
This is so delicious!! Going to make every week for work
Thanks so much 👌
lol you know it's good when you do a little dance after a bite or two! Can't wait to try this
😂 ❤️
what happens if you heat them up in a pan? i also have a contact grill, so can i just put the frozen burrito in there for 5minutes?
Cream cheese in the filling makes this so good
Looks fantastic and it’s also one pot?! I was already interested but now I’m sold.
Yummm!
I love you bro , I have Been doing this recipe since 5 months . I recall liked it 😂♥️
awesome man good shit! always looking for more easy meal prep freezer meals. keep it up!!
Thanks dawg ✌️ more to come!
This looks awesome, def making these
Trying your recipe tonight with a few modifications, as I have time to "do it right" and am sure that my extra steps will boost flavor: to wit, brown your chicken breasts well, season and simmer til tender, shred them, and then add all the other ingredients.
I’m delighted to hear that! And sure! I explain my process for quickly meal prepping chicken breast in this video. The description has the time stamp if you’d like to skip to it:

Thank you! Oh I will. Next one is coming very soon….
