Richard Page! He still sounds great. He's done some gigs with Ringo Starr's all-star band fairly recently. He does a version of this song with Steve Lukather from Toto playing guitar. It's amazing.
I heard that Toto tried to recruit him as their new lead singer after they fired Bobby Kimball from the band in 1984, but Richard turned them down because he wanted to remain with Mr.Mister at the time.
Love this song! Mr. Mister was an American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona, active from 1982 until 1990. The band consisted of Richard Page on lead vocals and bass guitar, Steve George on keyboards/backing vocals, Pat Mastelotto on acoustic and electronic drums/percussion, and Steve Farris on guitars/backing vocals. Mr. Mister was the successor to the band Pages, fronted by Page and George from 1978 to 1981. Happy Tuesday!😊❤
Damn, I totally forgot that Mastelotto was in Mr Mister. Had to check the video again in a bigger format, but I would not have recognized him in those few seconds he's not hiding behind some cimbal. :)
80's band . They had 2 #1's. This song and Kyrie. Definitely should listen to that one as well. Lead singer is Richard Page. Amber, they are keyboards, played by Steve George.
This song has always been one that I point to as just beautiful, both musically and lyrically. I know everyone will point to Kyrie as the next song from them to react to but, personally, I love “Is it Love” and am throwing that song into the ring for your next Mr. Mister selection. ❤️🎶
Wow, I'm transported back to the 80's! This got plenty of air time on the radio and was always welcome to my ears and soul. Wonderful times in the 80's!
I was an 80's kid, loved this song, but until recently, didn't realize they were a Christian band. Once you know that, these songs have a whole different meaning.
Richard Page is both the lead singer and the bass player for the band. This song "Broken Wings" was was written by lead vocalist and bass player Richard Page, keyboardist, saxophone player and vocalist Steve George and lyricist John Lang. Richard Page and John Lang are cousins. Richard Page was also offered the lead vocalist job from both the bands Chicago and Toto, and he turned them both down.
I saw Mr Mister in concert in 1986. This song was amazing live. I still have my tshirt from this concert too. I also still have this album which is excellent it is called Welcome to the Real World. You need to check out their song Kyrie too.
Like The Eagles, these guys were studio musicians before they decided to form their own band. If you listen closely, there's a really cool guitar part under the 2nd & 3rd verses. Richard Page, who once dated Cher, on vocals and bass guitar. Check out their song "Kyrie."
Wow, I can't believe you haven't reacted to this mid 80's GEM until now!!! I'm glad you got to hear it. This is one of those songs that makes me want to go back to the 80's even more!!!
I was so happy to see this pop up today! I’ve been waiting for you guys to get around to Mr. Mister. I knew Amber would get transported with this one, it’s hard not to. It’s almost spiritual. You will absolutely LOVE their other major hit “Kyrie.” I guarantee it. Singer’s name is Richard Page.
The line "You're half of the flesh and blood makes me whole" from this song was heard at soooo many weddings back in the day. Classic song. Great song and great reaction, thank you!
Richard was asked to join Toto but decided to stay with Mr Mister as they were just taking off. Best concert videos are the ones from Argentina or Chile
@@MattSingh1 And I could practically name at least 800 different songs that would fit in that definition. Yes, among them are all the Phil Collins singles released thought that decade, as well :)

one of my favorite childhood songs. my dad got me into this kind of music. he passed away last month after a 7 year battle with cancer. 😞😢 RIP.. i miss him
I love this song! It was popular when I was expecting my 2nd daughter, and it's funny how she now loves all the music from the mid eighties when I was expecting her! ♥️
Next reaction must be Kyrie from Mister Mister, the songs title is a strong word in a christian prayer I think you'll love the song.great reaction to broken wing by the way.👍🤗🤗🤗
The 80's were so cool, so much talent came from abroad...just opened a door to so much talent. It was a good time for music...I will always love that era!🥰
One of my favorite bands of the ‘80s❤️ such an iconic song. Such a smooth sound reminds me of the song “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley from the band Eagles🔥
Drummer Pat Mastellotto was a member of King Crimson for years and years. He was also the drummer on the Friends TV show theme song. I saw these guys open for Heart at the San Diego arena heavily under the influence of some very strong LSD. It was a great night!
This song is a masterpiece. It gets right to my heart from the first line: "I can't understand, why we can't just hold on to each other's hands". There are so many ways to interpret it. It could be talking about an intimate relationship between two people that has become distant or on a larger scale, about all of the division between humanity, but the love is powerful enough to unite us, if we allow it, like we are all fallen angels who have to learn to fly together, or unity will always be just a dream.
Mr Mister was a “pick up” band of studio musicians who got together to make an album, had a couple of hits and sort of went away. But what they created was classic.

The '80's Rock in so many ways. Thank you for discovering the music that so many of the RSR Fam grew up with. Have a Great Day and a Better One Tomorrow.
You are absolutely right the bass line carries this song. I always played either an older Fender Jazz, or Percision, but when Yamaha came out with their line of basses I bought one like in the video. The tone is unmistakable and very 80's.
I was born in 1955... a product of parents who were brought up by people still influenced by the victorian era... 60s were about starting to break those chains... and in the seventies they snapped completely... sex, rock and roll, freedom and irreverance. It was an era that was very much needed.. and wonderful. The eighties were often more about introspection and edginess and finding a place. You can usually pick an eighties song. This one was very well known.
Richard Page had a band before Mr. Mister called Pages (1978-1981) The band consisted of Richard Page and Steve George (Also of Mr. Mister) on vocals and keyboards and various other artists would play with them on their records. Two lovely songs with this nice vibe are: China Crisis - Wishful Thinking Fiction Factory - Feels like Heaven These and some others I love as much now as when they were released.
As everyone is suggesting "Kyrie" is the other big hit from Mr. Mister. If you'd like another 'broken wings' type song try "The Angel Song" by Great White. It has a beautiful piano solo.
I realize that this generation has its own music, but the fact that they even give a listen to my music deserves mad respect. I loved most of my Parents music
You two got this song perfectly. It's kind of hypnotic! Play their song "Kyrie" next!!!!

This song is kind of timeless. I still hear it occasionally, like at the grocery or department store. Kyrie was another big hit of theirs.
Yes..love both songs but Kyrie is my favorite song of the two.
It's been used in commercials.
You need to listen to it carefully in earphones. The things they did with the sound details in the 80's is absolutely amazing.
That bass is so iconic and instantly recognisable. The lead singer/ bass player is called Richard Page.
Really nice reaction guys 👌
Drummer Pat Mastelotto, Guitar Steve Farris, Key Boards Steve George. The album "Welcome To The Real World" was an awesome album of the mid 80's.

Peter Cetera, "Glory of Love"
Poison, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"
Yes, yes, yes, to all of your suggestions!
