You two got this song perfectly. It's kind of hypnotic! Play their song "Kyrie" next!!!!
Kyrie is a celebration captured on vinyl. One of the best songs of the eighties.
Yes! Kyrie is awesome!
Oh, yes. Kyrie!
Kylie!!! Please🎶
If you have some church game you will understand Kyrie.
Yes this is absolutely an 80's song that you just NEED to experience. Richard's voice is just masterful. Kyrie next please :)
Yes Kyrie is my favorite of theirs.
Can we have a list of other classic good 80 songs like this to listen to 🎧
Couldn’t have said it better and agree with Kyrie..it’s an all time fav
Yes Kyrie
..and "Is it Love".
This song is kind of timeless. I still hear it occasionally, like at the grocery or department store. Kyrie was another big hit of theirs.
Yes..love both songs but Kyrie is my favorite song of the two.
It's been used in commercials.
You need to listen to it carefully in earphones. The things they did with the sound details in the 80's is absolutely amazing.
I want to go back in time not to change anything, but to hear songs like this for the first time again. 😌
You have to follow this up with Mr. Mister's other huge hit, "Kyrie". You'll love it.
This song totally sucked too.
That bass is so iconic and instantly recognisable. The lead singer/ bass player is called Richard Page.
Really nice reaction guys 👌
Drummer Pat Mastelotto, Guitar Steve Farris, Key Boards Steve George. The album "Welcome To The Real World" was an awesome album of the mid 80's.
yeeeeeeh 🎉🎉🎉🎉
One of the great power ballads of all time. Next Stops:
Mister Mister, "Kyrie"
Peter Cetera, "Glory of Love"
Poison, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"
Yes, yes, yes, to all of your suggestions!
Poison would be a beautiful reaction!
I don't know how you transitioned from Mr. Mister to Poison but nicely done. I absolutely agree with your choices.
I would love for them to also hear "Heaven" by Bryan Adams and "When The Children Cry" by White Lion.
@@Pokyhawk Behold the power of the power ballad!
As someone who was a teen in the 80s I consider this as one of the top 5 anthems of the 80s
which ones are the other 4?
With tough competition, I agree
Agregar Kylie de mr mister q es una hermosa plenária hecha cancion❤
Perdón quise decir plegaria
Kyrie by Mr Mister is an absolute kickass badass rocker! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Jay, you've impressed me. The look Amber gives you when you let her express herself says it all. She's spreading HER wings.
And just as endearing, is the look *Jay* gives to *Amber* when he lets her express herself. His face lights up and he is absolutely beaming.😊💞😺🍀
And the look Amber gives Jay when she lets him express himself is endearing too! Everyone is endearing haha!
@@carolynnewcomb2153 What an awesome thing to say! Keep giving out that positive energy to everyone around you!😊💞😸🍀
Love this song! Mr. Mister was an American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona, active from 1982 until 1990. The band consisted of Richard Page on lead vocals and bass guitar, Steve George on keyboards/backing vocals, Pat Mastelotto on acoustic and electronic drums/percussion, and Steve Farris on guitars/backing vocals. Mr. Mister was the successor to the band Pages, fronted by Page and George from 1978 to 1981. Happy Tuesday!😊❤
Damn, I totally forgot that Mastelotto was in Mr Mister. Had to check the video again in a bigger format, but I would not have recognized him in those few seconds he's not hiding behind some cimbal. :)
An all time favorite and 80's Classic! Their song KYRIE is Fire!
Love that tune too, especially the intro.
You can't imagine what a strange/cool time for music 1985 was. Songs like this were on MTV and pop radio every day.
80's band . They had 2 #1's. This song and Kyrie. Definitely should listen to that one as well.
Lead singer is Richard Page.
Amber, they are keyboards, played by Steve George.
If I’m not mistaken, he wrote this song after his long battle with drug addiction. I love this song…it’s about redemption.
(In My L.L. Cool J voice) I don't think so.
@@rodhubbard6320 He's right.
@@rodhubbard6320 Oh no...?? Well than instead of reading stuff in Wikipedia, why don't you hear about it from Richard Page himself: ua-cam.com/video/Fr-Lp3cQrIw/v-deo.html
Interview starts at 2min in
like every other song it's open to interpretation
It's a song about boring.
Magical song. 💕 Richard Page is the lead singer. You should give a listen to “ Kyrie Elesion”.
I saw them live in 86 and omg!!
"Carry a Laser down the road that I must travel! " Now you can't avoid hearing that anymore. You're welcome.
@ 🤣💕
Mr.mr was a spiritual band, they didn't claim Christianity but all song have a spiritual tone
I love that!
Richard Oage was a a Christian.
Y'all are awesome. Kyrie is another great song too.
"Kyrie" is also a MUST LISTEN!!!
The definition of an great 80‘s Pop song.
Another same name hitter by Duran Duran is "Hungry Like A Wolf" '80's banger for sure!!!
Masterpiece from the 80s.
Richard Page! He still sounds great. He's done some gigs with Ringo Starr's all-star band fairly recently. He does a version of this song with Steve Lukather from Toto playing guitar. It's amazing.
That performance shows still great voice.
I heard that Toto tried to recruit him as their new lead singer after they
fired Bobby Kimball from the band in 1984, but Richard turned them down because he
wanted to remain with Mr.Mister at the time.
@@raymondwoodard6779 I heard the same
OMG! I've GOTTA hear that! Thx.
@@raymondwoodard6779 He would have been great! I do love Joseph Williams, though.
I was an 80's kid, loved this song, but until recently, didn't realize they were a Christian band. Once you know that, these songs have a whole different meaning.
Not really a Christian band per ce but I can see the songs here relating to that.
Check out "Kyrie" and "Is It Love" by Mr. Mister. Richard Page is an amazing vocalist.
I love both! "Is it Love" is a completely different sound for them.
To me, the most iconic 80's song are "Broken Wings", "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", and "New Years Day".
*Practically any single released by Phil Collins between 1981-1989 fits this definition.*
@@MattSingh1 And I could practically name at least 800 different songs that would fit in that definition. Yes, among them are all the Phil Collins singles released thought that decade, as well :)
Don't forget Men At Work and their two hits Down Under and Overkill. Or Killing Joke with Love Like Blood. There are so many.
I'll add another essential (for me) to that: The Cars - Drive 😉
Don't you (forget about me)....Shout.....Total eclipse of the heart........Africa........Every breath you take........With or without you......
This song has always been one that I point to as just beautiful, both musically and lyrically. I know everyone will point to Kyrie as the next song from them to react to but, personally, I love “Is it Love” and am throwing that song into the ring for your next Mr. Mister selection. ❤️🎶
I agree Kyrie is great, but "Is It Love" is my personal favorite.
@@trjbrew “The broken record, goes round and round, within a circle, without a sound…”
I had to go take a listen since we’re talking about it. 😉
“Is It Love” was always my favorite, too. A bit more of a rock edge.
Welcome To The Real World was an excellent album overall. I would suggest checking out the single Run To Her.
Wow, I'm transported back to the 80's!
This got plenty of air time on the radio and was always welcome to my ears and soul.
Wonderful times in the 80's!
The 80s had the best music.
Richard Page is a killer singer. He still sounds very close to this even today.
I saw Mr Mister in concert in 1986. This song was amazing live. I still have my tshirt from this concert too. I also still have this album which is excellent it is called Welcome to the Real World. You need to check out their song Kyrie too.
Saw them open for Tina Turner in 86”. Great show!
Such a great song! Brings me back to the 80s ❤️
Can't say enough how much I love this song and the sound and tone of his voice. I get Goose bumps listening to it!
Haven't heard this song in years. So simple and beautiful.
Next reaction must be Kyrie from Mister Mister, the songs title is a strong word in a christian prayer I think you'll love the song.great reaction to broken wing by the way.👍🤗🤗🤗
Another epic song from the same era is Silent Running by Mike and the Mechanics.
Yessss love that song
Mike's other song "The Living Years" is epic as well
All I need is a miracle , and I can use one right now
No matter who you are or where you came, everyone sings this song when it comes on the radio.
The 80's were so cool, so much talent came from abroad...just opened a door to so much talent. It was a good time for music...I will always love that era!🥰
Like The Eagles, these guys were studio musicians before they decided to form their own band. If you listen closely, there's a really cool guitar part under the 2nd & 3rd verses. Richard Page, who once dated Cher, on vocals and bass guitar. Check out their song "Kyrie."
Jordan will be jealous over the Cher thing! LOL
I was so happy to see this pop up today! I’ve been waiting for you guys to get around to Mr. Mister. I knew Amber would get transported with this one, it’s hard not to. It’s almost spiritual. You will absolutely LOVE their other major hit “Kyrie.” I guarantee it. Singer’s name is Richard Page.
Wow, I can't believe you haven't reacted to this mid 80's GEM until now!!! I'm glad you got to hear it. This is one of those songs that makes me want to go back to the 80's even more!!!
How good is mr mister. Great band!
He wrote this about his infant daughter who struggled to live after her birth.
“Welcome to the Real World” is a great album, start to finish. Very 80s, very much a pleasurable listen, over and over.
Just listened to it yesterday. It's an absolutely magic album.
Both, Welcome to the real world and Go On are absolutely amazing! nearly all songs.
This song has been burned into my memory for the past 40 years or so, and its so awesome seeing you two appreciate it for the first time :)
Again, playing one of my favorite tunes from way back.
The line "You're half of the flesh and blood makes me whole" from this song was heard at soooo many weddings back in the day. Classic song. Great song and great reaction, thank you!
Richard was asked to join Toto but decided to stay with Mr Mister as they were just taking off. Best concert videos are the ones from Argentina or Chile
This is truly next level music. We were spoiled going thru that era. Glad you both got to hear this!
Hypnotic is what this song makes me feel
One of my favorite bands of the ‘80s❤️ such an iconic song. Such a smooth sound reminds me of the song “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley from the band Eagles🔥
Great 80s song!
Everybody bashes 80’s music, there was a lot of great stuff, and this song proves it!
LOL, everybody bashes...? It's more like the majority of people ADORES the 80's. Only some cynical old farts that grew up in the 60's/early 70's bashes it because of the synths.
Kyrie is really their only other hit. But if these two songs are your only hits, that's pretty damn good! Broken Wings is such a good song.
"Is It Love" was also a huge hit for them. It peaked at number 8 on the Billboard charts. That got heavy rotation on MTV and my local radio station when I was young.
"Broken Wings" is a genius total '80s masterpiece, I'm afraid I find "Kyrie" not even half as good.
I love this song! It was popular when I was expecting my 2nd daughter, and it's funny how she now loves all the music from the mid eighties when I was expecting her! ♥️
I remember this song fondly and it sends me into a "trance" like state hearing it. It's very Ethereal.
WHOOP WHOOP
LOVE 80s music!!!
Incredible one of a kind power ballard from 1985 and sounds just as good today nearly 40 years on. Kyrie and Is it Love were also amazing - but this song is the bomb!
I saw them in concert in 1985 as the warm up band to none other than Tina Turner!!! Their other big hit is KYRIE, lead singer is Richard Page
Did anyone notice the extremely high note that he hits at the very end of the song?? Richard Page's voice is incredible.
The Wife here...Wore this record out in the 80's!!...It's a beautifully put together song both lyrically and musically...It had heavy rotation on radio..A great example of pop rock of the eighties...Love Your Channel
Not just a radio hit. Big part of Days of Our Lives soundtrack. If I remember correctly this was the song for Steve and Kayla.
This is a song that justs gets beneath your skin almost instantly. Sad and uplifting at the same time.
Great song, great reaction. You should check out Billy Vera and the Beaters song “At This Moment”
I was just going to suggest this song!
Damm this brings back so many good memories,in my teens in the 80,s ❤️
one of my favorite childhood songs.
Drummer Pat Mastellotto was a member of King Crimson for years and years. He was also the drummer on the Friends TV show theme song. I saw these guys open for Heart at the San Diego arena heavily under the influence of some very strong LSD. It was a great night!
Mr Mister was a “pick up” band of studio musicians who got together to make an album, had a couple of hits and sort of went away. But what they created was classic.
What's funny about the three singles that were released from this album (Broken Wings, Kyrie, and Is It Love) all came off of side two of the album.
"Hey, soul sister
Ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo?
The way you move ain't fair, you know
Hey, soul sister
I don't want to miss a single thing you do
Tonight"
About time! I've always loved this song!
When I got my 35th anniversary Mustang Convertible when young, week later in So Cal drove to Las Vegas, 4 hours drive, open with mountains and blue sky, had this CD playing and sang this song, could feel the bassist in body, will remember forever, everytime listening to this song...look up, see my car and voice!
I saw Mr. Mister perform this live when it was a Number 1 hit in April 1986 at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Nearly 30 years later, I saw lead singer Richard Page perform it at The Wang Theater in Boston with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band.
Great song from the 80's... Gotta try "The Last Unbroken Heart", by Patti LaBelle and Bill Champlin
Patti LaBelle anytime👍👍👍🌻
Got to see them live in the 80's when they opened for Tina Turner...They were fantastic..That was one of the best concerts I have ever seen...
His voice on this song is equally as good in concert as it is on the album❤️
Pure 80's! Song is perfect for crusin' with the top down on a warm summer evening ( especially at the beach).
This is one of my all time favourite songs and for you to play this on my 60th birthday I couldn't have wished for a better song.
If you remember this song from Miami Vice aside from radio play, raise your canes! 🤣😉😄
Always loved this one! Great choice & reaction, guys! ♥️✌
👍😃❣️😃👍
I played this album over and over again. Kyrie is the next one from them
gorgeous message music and lyrics
Lead singer‘s name is Richard Page great voice fantastic artist.
Great reaction to great song. Bass line memorable. Singer great voice and great emotion in performance of song. One of my favorites.
The '80's Rock in so many ways. Thank you for discovering the music that so many of the RSR Fam grew up with. Have a Great Day and a Better One Tomorrow.
Gawd, this song takes me back to childhood. This was on the radio ALLLLL the time. Loved it.
Not many notice the parallel melody de-harmonizing by the piano. Good ears :-) and always a pleasure to watch people enjoy music for what it is...
I remember this group back in the late 80's...Kyrie and Is It Love were one of my favorites....you should hear 2Pac's sample of this song on "Until The End of Time"
I requested this song a while back, so glad you enjoyed it like I have throughout the years! Keep up the great job Rob Squad!
That being said, to me the next song that pairs with this - that I bet you'd enjoy reviewing - is Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer' ua-cam.com/video/LeBTFjSUNMM/v-deo.html :)
I roadied at a benefit concert at the Hollywood bowl and the guitar player for Mr Mister was there and absolutely shredded.
goose bumps on goose bumps on goose bumps...GORGEOUS CLASSIC!!!
This has always been one of my favorites. It’s such a chill song ❤️
One of my all time favourites. A huge rádio hit and a 80’s classic for sure.
Yah, this song brings a tear to my eye; watching your reaction makes me cry more! You guys are AWESOME.
Saw Richard Page and the boys open up for the Tina Turner Private Dancer Tour in ‘85, they were a great band , but didn’t have many hits. always thought Richard Page would become a solo star , he was such a great singer and songwriter. This was instantly one of my favorite songs of all time, one of the greatest songs from the 80’s, cool fun memories!
One of my all times faves. I had it memorized quickly and can still sing it. Fantastic song.
Two lovely songs with this nice vibe are:
China Crisis - Wishful Thinking
Fiction Factory - Feels like Heaven
These and some others I love as much now as when they were released.
Every time I hear this song I'm transported back to the first time I heard it, and the memory associated with it that night.
Mr. Mister had two giant hits, this song and Kyrie. I dont know if youre familiar with the group Train, but their song Hey Soul Sister has a lyric that says "Hey soul sistet, aint that Mr. Mister on the radio?" Which might be the only time a two hit wonder gets a shout out from a group with more hits.
Great song by a great 80’s band. Their song Kyrie is great too. Please react to Weird Al Yankovich: either “Fat”, “Eat It”, or “Like A Surgeon”
As everyone is suggesting "Kyrie" is the other big hit from Mr. Mister. If you'd like another 'broken wings' type song try "The Angel Song" by Great White. It has a beautiful piano solo.
The Angel Song" by Great White has to be the most underrated ballad
Everybody Wang Chung tonight! Everybody have fun tonight.
The most 80's song i ever heard. Gives me that feel of driving a speed boat all around Miami in the sunset
A-ha "Take on me" would be a great follow up to this. Another 80s hit.The vocal on "Take on me" is insane.
"Take On Me [MTV Unplugged 2017]" by a-ha ua-cam.com/video/-xKM3mGt2pE/v-deo.html
